I liked it a lot. It let us catch up on missing characters that (presumably) helped in some way. Syd got character development and/or a catharsis - Syd got to live a second, happy life and learn from some of the most knowledgeable, wise and experienced people in the show. I want to see the consequences of that. We also got to see more of astral plane screwery.
All in all, this feels like a set-up for something interesting.

“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.I can't imagine a lot of viewers being pleased with this finale. We don't even get to see how the "reincarnated" (for lack of a better word) David lives his life, or even if he and Syd later reunite. Even Switch's resolution with her father (surprise, he actually cared about her all along) was more satisfying.
So disappointing that it ended with a bang, not a whimper, but that seems to be de rigueur for the X-Men franchise lately.
Do not obey in advance.I think a bittersweet ending was a given once time travel got involved. The ending also shed a new light on previous plot and made me look at it in a different angle. I half expected the way it would turn out but it still did surprise me. Writers went for a very personal story, it did what it set out to do and I appreciate what they did. A bit more involved psychic battle is all I would change about the last episode. All in all, a good ending.
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson. The ending was better than expected, but honestly, the morale concerning Farouk was pretty fucked up. What, so he is just allowed to continue running his "kingdom" with the enslaved minds of people imprisoned in monkeys and children? Because he got all teary eyed about David being his "son"?
Also, as a sidenote, just how old is David supposed to be again? I mean, his mom was already a young adult during the holocaust, and she doesn't seem that much older when having him.

Actually, only Clark and Lenny seem to be dead. Lets see what David is about to change.
It was great how he disposed of Fahrouk, btw^^
This show truly is the best.
