Star Wars: A Ship Divided

It is no longer a time of war. With the declaration of an Emperor of the galaxy, the execution of Order 66, and the elimination of General Grievous and the Separatist Council, the Clone Wars has ended. With a massive order sent out by the Sith Lord Darth Sidious - secretly Emperor Palpatine - to deactivate the droid armies, the cause of the Confederacy of Independent Systems seems lost. However, small pockets of resistance remain. Harch Commander Rekk was transporting Republic prisoners of war on his ship during the last days of the Clone Wars and his ship's communications was knocked out during a battle, meaning he never got the order to shut down the droids on his ship and surrender the rest of his forces to the Republic. However, checking the Holo Net News caused him to hear of the Separatist's defeat. Unable to face capture and not knowing what else to do, Rekk escaped in one of the ship's escape pods, leaving the prisoners of war and the remainder of the ship's crew alone and without a leader to help them navigate this Imperial-controlled galaxy that seeks to hunt them down.

So this is yet another one of my Star Wars RP's I've wanted to do. Basically, this takes place a week or so after the Clone Wars has concluded, meaning the Empire is still hunting down Separatist remnants, making your crew quite vulnerable to Imperial patrols and bounty hunters. You can play as either a Republic POW or a Separatist crew member and the two former enemies must now learn to work together in order to survive. In a galaxy that wants them dead and with no allies to turn to yet, they're all they have left.

As I mentioned, timeline wise this takes place mere days after the events of Revenge of the Sith. As a reminder, that means that most of the Jedi have been killed (more info on that later), the Republic has recently been turned into the Empire with the clone troopers now turning into Imperial stormtroopers, and the Separatists/Confederacy of Independent Systems is mostly gone. However, the galaxy is a really vast place and you guys get to choose which planets you want to go to. I'll control the villains hunting you and I have plots ready for a variety of planet-types so you guys can pretty much go anywhere you want to go and I'll be able to work the story around it.

As for characters, your options are either Separatist crewmembers or Republic POW's. I'd like somewhat of a mix so if I have an abundance of one side, I'm going to impose limits on others signing up as that side until the sides are more balanced. For the Separatists, you have a pretty healthy mix of options. Apart from the B1 battle droids and the super battle droids, there are a whole bunch of other droids in the Separatist Army you guys can choose from. Check Wookieepedia for ideas. However, no being anything bigger than a standard humanoid, meaning no tank droids or droid starfighters. However, the Separatists have other forces apart from droids; mainly mercenaries and soldiers from Separatist-allied worlds. This page has lots of info on such planets and races that allied with the Separatists although some popular species that you all might know are the Bith, Trandoshans], and [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Koorivar_Fusiliers Koorivar.] If you want to play as a mercenary or bounty hunter, feel free to pick any race. Also, shortly before the story, the prison ship was being escorted by other Separatist ships before being ambushed by Republic forces. Most of the escort ships were destroyed and some survivors could have presumably been picked up by the prison ship, if you wanted to have a character that might not otherwise be assigned to a prison ship.

As for Republic POW's, clone troopers or other non-clone recruits in the Grand Army of the Republic would be pretty standard, but there's a ton of trooper variants you can play as for added variety. See here for more info. Also, many of the clone troopers gave themselves nicknames, haircuts, and tattoos to identify themselves so feel free to do any of that and establish a personality for your individual trooper if you decide to play as a clone. However, clones aren't all that can be played. Plenty of Senators, Senatorial aides, Republic spies, Mon Calimari Knights, Pau'an resistance fighters, or even astromech droids could be on the POW ships - go nuts with choosing your background. Of course, Jedi could feasibly be on the ship as well but I'm going to be hesitant in allowing you to play as Jedi and it would certainly be restricted to only one, maybe two, players. They're mostly supposed to be dead after all. However, if you're interested, PM me and we'll work out details. The Nightsisters and the Zeison Sha are other Force-wielding groups that you guys could play as a Jedi substitutes and I'd certainly allow any of them. If none of those capture your interest, there's other Force groups not affiliated with the Jedi that could be played as - just ask me first.

Other than all that, the only thing I can think of mentioning is that this will be under the Legends timeline. If you don't know what this means, basically all of the pre-2014 books, movies, video games, and comics are in the canon and the first six movies happened. So, none of the new Disney movies have happened in this verse but, considering we're playing in a timeline well before those movies, that doesn't much matter anyways. If you have any questions about this particular setting or Star Wars in general, let me know and I'll be happy to answer. As a sidenote, I will allow two characters to be played if you wish but I ask that they be on opposing sides. A signup sheet template is below for your characters but feel free to add stuff to it if you'd like.

• Name: Whatever your character goes by, be that a birth name, callsign, or nickname
• Appearance: Link to a picture or a description works fine.
• Age: Obvious
• Gender: Obvious
• Equipment: What your character has on them. For Separatist characters, this is what is on their person but for Republic POW's, this is what they had on them while they were captured. Republic characters' effects are stowed on the ship in custody so you'll be able to get them back.
• Personality: How your character generally acts most of the time.
• Skills: What can your character do. This does not have to be strictly related to combat or something you think might come up in the RP. Go ahead and put seemingly useless skills - you never know when underwater baking might come up.
• Backstory: Where is your character from? What was their experience in the Clone Wars like? How did they end up choosing the side they did?

Star Wars, yay!

I'm going with the assumption that our equipment is like, stuff we had on us that got confiscated by the CIS and is in a locker somewhere? Not that it's stuff we stole on the ship?

• Name: Dr. Saltatha
• Appearance: Your typical wookiee with a brown fur coat, but with a black streak of fur down his right side, and his left eye is missing and covered with an eyepatch.
• Age: 35
• Gender: Male
• Species: Wookiee
• Equipment:
  • Eyepatch
  • Ryyk Blade: Like a utility knife/machete, sized for Wookiees.
  • Medical supplies: A bag filled with all of the usual trauma equipment you'd need to take care of any wound in the field - gloves, first aid medicine, painkillers, disinfectants, bacta, bandages, splints, etc. And he also has a bandoleer, except instead of ammunition for a weapon, it has a bunch of emergency bacta injections.
• Personality: Like many wookiees is he normally somewhat calm and easy to get along with, but also easily angered by people bothering him. Also really wishes he had two eyes.
• Skills:
  • Climbing things
  • Medicine: Mostly focused on wookiee, human, and near-human biologies.
  • First Aid:
• Backstory: Sal was a young doctor on Kashyyyk when the droid attack on the wookiees sent the world into chaos. He worked as a field medic with the local resistance until the Republic arrived, and then used his medical skills to assist at forward bases and medical ships as they attempted to retake the planet from the CIS. Eventually a Clone regiment he was assigned with came under attack, and he was taken prisoner along with many others. At some point in his incarceration, a Separatist officer with a mean streak cut out his left eye during an interrogation, forcing him to wear an eyepatch.

Name : Slant

Appearance : The Separatist Alliance will never fall.

Model : Super Tactical Droid   Age : Manufactured roughly three years ago.

Gender : Programmed with a male voice, so presumably that.

Equipment : •E-5 blaster rifle - A gun. It blasts stuff. •Holotransmitter - Used for communicating with the other crew.

Personality : Slant is surprisingly level-headed for a droid, generally being pragmatic and good at planning. However, like many droids he is proud to a fault, believing the Separatists could never lose the war. He is programmed with the knowledge of many battle tactics, especially anti-Jedi tactics (which will soon become much less useful). He is very tactless, not caring about the impact of what he says. He's ruthlessly efficient (or at least believes himself to be) and loves to have a clear victory. Because of his past losses, he has become very cautious, almost paranoid for a droid, and he now tales every advantage he can have, preferring a clear edge over his opponents before engaging in combat.

Skills : Robotic Strength - He might be a bit slow, but he's very strong. Capable of taking most people in hand to hand combat, as long as they're not too good or too fast.

Robotic Accuracy - He rarely misses a shot. Having three eyes helps.

Tactical Knowledge - He is programmed with many combat tactics in his head, and as such performs well as a commander in battle scenarios.

Backstory : Slant was manufactured in the early years of the Clone Wars and participated in many minor skirmishes, but luck was not on his side. He lost a fair amount, mostly due to Jedi intervention, and only barely managed to escape with his droid life multiple times. His final battle was a minor skirmish on Ryloth, where Cham Syndullah's forces successfully escaped his grasp. Finally he was put into less combatitive roles, as it was acknowledged that, despite his superior programming to many droids, simply wasn't on par with his fellow super tactical droids. So instead he became an advisor to the captain of a ship that carried POWs. He considered himself above the job, overqualified, but he still performed to the best of his ability. Now, with the captain gone, who knows what he will decide next?

@Nman - Yeah, it's stuff you had on you and was confiscated on the ship when you were captured. Thanks for mentioning that - I'll edit that into the first post. Your character looks good, although considering Wookiee's lifespans, 35 seems a bit on the young side for a doctor but it's fine. Also, I don't think either the new canon or the old EU ever touched upon Wookiee doctors. I don't know if he's self-trained or went to school abroad but I have a really funny image in my head of a Wookiee in a graduation cap, having graduated with honors from space medical school. I'm going to go ahead and say that he's accepted.

@Kepler-7 - I always liked the look of the E-5 blaster and I also like that you made him on the lower end of the performance spectrum for his model of droid. You are also accepted.

Gonna wait for a few more people to sign up before starting this thing but so far, it looks good. In the meantime, I touched upon the first post to fix some spelling mistakes and also to reflect what was discussed about Republic characters' equipment.

Going to give this a slight bump but if I don't get any more signups by Wednesday, I'll probably have to consider this dead. I'd like at least three players before starting. Hopefully, more sign up - I really like this idea.

I know you said you were planning on locking this on Wednesday if no one else showed interest and that was yesterday, but while I don't currently have a character concept, I am interested. And I'll see if any of my friends want in too.

• Name: Savron "Cog" Antria
• Appearance: Savron wears a rather standard Republic engineering outfit, though its in rather ragged condition. Savron himself is a thin white human male of average height. Who's hair is dyed blue but given his imprisonment has grown out quite a bit back with his natural blond color showing again, if still in the minority. He has brown eyes. Along with a noticeable vertical scar on the left side of his face.
• Age: 25
• Gender: Male
• Equipment:
  • Repair Kit: A rather bog standard kit of tools and materials needed to effect most general repairs on vehicles and droids. Including a fusion cutter.
  • Slicer's Kit: A not entirely legal small discrete collection of tools and devices meant for hacking electronics, particularly locks.
  • Blaster Pistol: A small never-used pistol meant as an emergency self-defense weapon.
  • Large Wrench: Most of the time used for its intended purpose, occasionally for percussive maintenance.
• Personality: Savron is a bit of a coward. While not prone to leaving others in a lurch, having surprisingly learned honor among thieves, he's rather adverse to actually getting involved in fights. He's also currently rather angry about this entire situation. In less stressful situations, he tends to be laid back, if slightly conniving.
• Skills:
  • Handyman: Savron has through both self-teaching, extensive training, and experience (despite his young age) obtained a great amount of skill when it comes to maintaining and repairing technology. And occasionally modifying it or otherwise jury rigging technological solutions to problems.
  • Hacker: Savron having grown up in the seedy underbelly of Coruscant had also developed some other 'marketable' skills. Subverting electronic security. Be it from hacking computers or slicing locks.
  • Pickpocket: While never the best at more physical thievery he has certainly picked up a few sleight of hand tricks.
  • Cooking: While he may not make the tastiest meals around Savron is capable of cooking just about anything vaguely edible.
  • Cardshark: Savron is rather good at cardgames, and bluffing, and if he particularly dislikes the people he's playing with cheating.
• Backstory:
  • Savron was born in the lower levels of Coruscant. His parents were members of a gang, and from a young age he was part of their criminal life style. He was never involved in any of the more dangerous jobs fortunately. So when he wasn't helping distract marks or learning to pick pockets or slice locks, his hobby was scavenging junk and getting it working again.

  • Life continued much as usual and his skills with technology and thievery both advanced at a steady pace until war struck. Having never been entirely satisfied with eking out an existence in the slums, he ran away from home, and enlisted in the Grand Army of the Republic. True most of the roles in the army were filled by clones, but the war was expansive enough and Kamino couldn't pump out enough clones to fill every thing. From there, while plenty of the ships Savron served on saw combat, he himself had little involvement in it directly. Mostly being relegated to patching up ships and vehicles after a fight.

  • That continued for most of the war, until the ship he was serving on got ambushed. With an evacuation sounded, Savron along with others boarded an escape pod. It unfortunately didn't quite get away completely cleanly as the ship detonated behind them. It crash landed and crash landed hard, through fate or simply a fluke, Savron was the only survivor of the crash, and had been far too injured to resist imprisonment by the CIS, not that he would have in the first place. He picked up his rather nasty scar from said crash.

Alright, took me a bit to come up with a character concept I liked. But, this should work. Not super sure on his personality at the moment, so I might not stick to that too much in actual play.

Alright sorry it took me a few days to get back to you but I had a midterm yesterday and couldn't do much. Savron looks good and I'm going to say he's accepted. With three people, we could actually get a game going. Hopefully, more people will sign up but, as of right now, I'd say three's enough. Can you guys post in this thread to let me know if you're still interested? I'll probably throw up a discussion thread later today.

Also, having added Savron to the active character list, I've noticed that all of the player characters begin with the letter "S." I don't know what that could mean but I'm sure that must have some significance.

Also I don't remember what it means off the top of my head but I used the Callsigns of Kashyyyk reference to come up with a name so starting with an S is just a coincidence.

Good to know. Just looked up what Callsigns of Kashyyyk was and I geeked out. I love reference books like that. Also, "storm-biter" is just a badass sounding name although it gave me a mental image of a Wookiee furiously trying to bite raindrops during a hurricane while his parents desperately try to call him inside.

I recycled a name I've used for previous Star Wars characters, didn't even realize the S thing. My bad? My good? I dunno.

. It’s definitely a good thing. I’ll have to think of a way to make all of your characters sell seashells by the seashore just to type out that glorious tongue twister.

• Appearance: A tall, gaunt figure. Wears a helmet that shows his face. Like all Umbarans, he has pale skin and a bluish complexion.

  • Umbaran Armor: Special armor made for the Umbarans. It’s very resilient to physical attacks, but can be destroyed with enough blaster shots. It gives a special

• Personality: Nab is a calm person, not shaken at all by danger. He has a dark sense of humor, joking after seeing death and carnage. Despite his dark personality, he doesn’t enjoy hurting civilians or killing the helpless, and will only do so if there is no other option. He enjoys collecting weapons from around the galaxy in his free time.
• Skills: A skilled soldier, with 6 years of experience in combat. He is quite charismatic, as well. Like the rest of his species, he can tell whether someone is lying or not.
• Backstory: He worked as a trooper in the Umbaran Army. At first, he fought with the Republic, helping to defeat several invasions of Umbara. After the murder of Mee Deechi, he, along with the rest of Umbara, switched sides to the Separatists. After his homeworld was captured by the Republic, he decided to work as a separatist mercenary. Now that the CIS has fallen, he doesn’t know what to do.
