Futuristic setting. Much like the other sciences, neuroscience has evolved. While humans have outlawed anything which directly submits signals to the brain (lest someone become capable of disabling or manipulating people en masse by exploiting potential vulnerabilities), many human soldiers are augmented via brain alterations which improve neuroplasticity to some degree, improving their ability to learn - which results in reduced training time to create a functional soldier, as well as troops going from untrained recruits to experienced veterans in a shorter span of time.

That's the idea behind it, anyway, give or take. I would like some help in coming up with a fitting name for this. I was going to name it "neural facilitation", but I see that that's already a scientific term taken for something else.

I'm just.. a guy....

In the webcomic Freefall, the robots undergo a neural pruning process that improves brain efficiency. After seven to ten years of operation, their brains shut down for a period of time, and when they come back online, they find that their thoughts have become clearer and more focused. In short, they get smarter as a result of trimming away portions of their neural network where the neurons are overly long or redundant.

Synaptic pruning also occurs in humans, at roughly the same age, with similar results.

What's wrong with "Cogntive Boosting" or somesuch?

I'm done trying to sound smart. "Clear" is the new smart.

Neural Expansion, or just Expansion, was my first thought.
