We've all heard the tales of wonderment and bullets in Gensoukyo throughout the ages, but in all honesty, what do we truly know of its inhabitants. Away form all the incidents, all the troubles of the various demons and whatnot, all the...

Oh who am I kidding, we all know how this'll go down. >:D

Welcome one and all to my newest attempt at an RP, this time with a subject near and dear to my heart, Touhou!

This will be a player-driven, freeform, and sporadic-plotted RP set in the Touhou universe.

All players may choose to utilize a canon character, though you should have a decent grasp on their personality, or make their own character! Human, Youkai, some kind of god? In Gensoukyo nearly everything is fair game!

Canon characters, however, will be on a first come first served basis and no one player may control the majority, max 3 canon characters for one OC.

Given the setting, feel free to use honorifics for people if you want. Have fun with it!

Name: Steven "Kira" Kawajiri

Race: Youkai

Gender: The 2nd Male to show up in the series, period.

Age: Looks 20, actually 250

Appearance: Tall, but not towering, built, but not massive. A slightly tanned olive complexion, with light freckles over his entire body. Brown hair that ends up looking like a shaggy comb-over, and stark purple eyes with hints of a dull blue. He is often seen wearing a black blazer, black slacks, blue Oxford, and grey tie, and sometimes Cool Shades, which of course combine to make a Cool Suit.

Special Ability:

Variance: Steven can shoot multiple different types of bullets, which tend to fall in 4 categories: Sway, Home, Large, and Zip. Sawy is your typical Touhou fare of bullets that move in different directions as they head towards an enemy, making them move along with it. Home bullets are like heat-seeking missiles, going out of their way to go for a target, moving as they do, and following them. however, they can be outmaneuvered, even to the point where they can shoot back on Steven. Large is, well... Large, big, gargantuan, you get the point. It moves slow, in a forward movement. Usually paired with another one to force damage, or used as a giant bomb. Zip bullets are fast, straight moving, and versatile, as they can be shot in any direction without much energy used. This and Sway are often used in joint to make those large bullet waves you see with Touhou bosses and the like.

Bullets Of Explodium: Like everyone else in Gensokyo, Steven can shoot insane amounts of bullets. The difference? He can detonate them at will at any time, sometimes even creating more bullets FROM THE EXPLOSIONS.

MC Bullet: Steve can make bullets of one specific type stop momentarily, acting as a sort of trap for people trying to escape.

Spellcard Swipe: Steven does not have one thing that everyone else does, however: His own Spellcard. Well, not in the traditional sense. You see, his goes off right at the start of a conflict: Even at the start of a verbal argument, Steven will mimic another person's Spellcard and use it as his own. However, this only lasts until the end of a conflict, and even then, there is a specific range of usefulness before it cannot be used.

Personality: Steven is, at heart, a Deadpan Snarker. He will often point out when things are a bit outlandish, and seems to be the only one who sees things in a more classical or "normal" way, often forgetting that he and his fellow... residents of Gensokyo can defy physics and shoot an infinite amount of bullets. He likes to stay back, snark, and toss out bullets of many types, often to confuse or overwhelm his enemies. He seems to be a reliable source of quotable musings and call-outs, as well as helpful tips and exposition.

Backstory: Steven Kawajiri was his own man. His early life was like all the others in Gensokyo, protected by the barrier and rich in its own culture, and he was unconnected to most of the shrines and other collections of people in Genskyo. He was friends or acquaintances with a lot of people, sure, but he was never directly affiliated with any one group, and that's how he liked it. There was only one problem. As he grew older, he became so fond of cultivating different techniques with his bullets, that he forgot to make his spell card! Oh no! So, he had a brilliant idea: Instead of taking the time to mock up his own super powerful attack, he'd just copy the moves of whatever youkai he was facing! This ended taking longer than he originally envisioned, but he was satisfied with the result anyway. Steven became more and more involved in kicking the ever-loving crap out of people who wanna mess with Gensokyo in Hero Of Another Story-esque adventures as time (and the series) went on, until eventually he just decided (just recently, mind you) to get involved with the major threats to Gensokyo, as he thinks he is now ready. He suits up in his best dress and sets off for a great adventure...

Did he...get to Gensoukyo via plane? Because that...wouldn't work. It's still the "sealed off" world...not exactly super modern.

Appearance:(How do you look?)Akinari normally wears a red yukata tied with a black obi, with a grey-black hakama underneath and wears black short boots. On his back rests a special rig to hold all 5 of his sheaths. He's also been seen wearing a jingasa on occasion. Akinari has dark blue, almost black, hair, and dark red/yellow eyes.
Special Ability:(What sets you apart from the others?)Inugami Black Magic, though it manifests as telekinesis centered around himself and his weapons.
Personality:(How you act) Slightly brash, on the border of headstrong, yet manages to remain professional when the situation calls for it.
Backstory:(How'd you become who you are today)Not overmuch is known about Yukimura Akinari, he was born to a single mother in the human village, never knowing his father. His mother always told him he was a wandering warrior, never meant to stay in one place too long, which she said explained the various blades she had kept after he left. As he grew older, his mother fell ill and eventually passed away, leaving the then teenage boy to fend for himself. He began performing various jobs for the other humans in the village as a way to keep himself busy, which then became his job as he began to charge people for it. Now he's converted his home into a shop, commonly referred to as "Yukimura Odd Jobs". Though some whisper strange things about him, given his abilities, if they need something done outside the village, be it delivery, gathering, or whatever they're too afraid to venture into the wilderness for, Yukimura Akinari was the man to see.

Name: Imamiya Mamori

Race: Youkai

Gender: Female

Apparent Age: 28

Appearance: Wears bright red and black samurai armor at all times, a few stray strands of hair and a ponytail sticking out of it, said hair being dark black. She has light brown earthy-colored skin herself and wide, staring eyes.

Special Ability: Ability to command geckos

Personality: Fairly serious and regimented, a bit guarded and hard to get to know, but is a loyal friend if you get on her good side.

Backstory: Mamori started out as a normal gecko, like a lot of beast Youkai. Eventually, she started getting some more power, eating a few humans not really hurting that. She became a leader among the geckos, forming a territory, managing the territorial disputes between geckos inside it and banding together to keep intruders out.

• Name: Oriko Sasagani
• Race: Youkai. Commonly thought to be some kind of weird Jorogumo, though Oriko herself claims to be a "weaver youkai". Whatever that means.
• Gender: Female
• Age: Visibly in her early 20s or so. Her actual age is a mystery.
• Appearance: Apart from her pointed ears and completely black irises with no visible pupils, Oriko looks like a human. She has long, pitch-black hair she keeps in a braid and pale skin. She usually wears a blouse with a ribbon tied around her neck, a butterfly patterned empire waisted dress on top of that, black opera gloves that seem to meld into her skin, and sandals.
• Special Ability:
  • I Can Weave Anything, You Know: While admittedly she cannot weave everything, Oriko possesses the strange ability to weave together most things that can be feasibly woven together- and some that can't- at will. Obviously the more she tries to weave together the more time it'll take and the more strain it'll place on her. She need not touch things to weave them, though contact helps the process go faster. She also can't use this ability on sentient beings.
• Personality: Outwardly, Oriko is a gracious woman- the picture of polite elegance. This belies an inner bitterness and propensity towards holding grudges. Though she might seem like it, Oriko is not a patient person and doesn't suffer fools lightly. She's not rude enough to be openly hostile, but if she dislikes you you'll likely get a lot of passive aggressive remarks thrown your way. If you're human, you're even more likely to get this treatment- for some unknown reason Oriko despises humans. Youkai are more likely to get the elegant mask, and the jury's out on half-youkai.
• Backstory: Oriko is but a simple weaver and travelling merchant. The fabrics she makes- her silk, especially- are of great renown among youkai but not much is known about Oriko herself. She just sort of.. appeared in her current place of residence and began selling her wares. Apparently she used to sell to humans, but she hasn't in a long time. When not travelling she lives in the Forest of Magic.
