I thought Star Wars fans who hate Star Wars a common phenomenon. I myself, was never the biggest Star Wars fans and yet I did eventually get around to watching all the numbered movies. I enjoyed the prequel trilogy, even, though I admit the movies are definitely flawed I liked what they were trying to do, much more than what the last two numbered films and "Rogue 1" have done.
At the same time, although I dislike the direction of the last three Star Wars movies, I cannot deny all three are genuinely good movies, much better than the prequel trilogy, which had better ideas but sloppier execution and too much continuity based fan service and not enough consistent continuity. At least the newer movies are deliberate throwbacks tied to the original conflict and even with that cushion have yet to do anything as jarring as have an entire army, that by all rights should have shown up far earlier in the story line, cloned from Boba Fett's father.
I don't hate or even dislike Star Wars, but I do feel the franchise is a little overrated, or maybe overexposed. Over hyped? Something along those lines. Peter Parker, a character who is supposed to be far smarter than I am, might be even less forgiving of both its real and perceived short comings. In fact it would make more sense for Parker to hate most popular works, with maybe a soft spot even he cannot explain for something especially stupid, like, say the Resident Evil movies or Naruto, which in turn makes him hate them/himself even more. Most writers tend to take the "pop culture references for humor" route though.
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastes

Hello. Apologies if this has been discussed before / is currently being discussed.
Anyways, apparently Peter Parker hates Star Wars. I've only just found about it, and I really have no idea why; while it could be just a particular quirk of whoever wrote that issue (side note I have no idea where the image is from) the character nerd in me says this something that needs to be explained. Maybe it's because he just doesn't like the science fantasy / space opera elements of it, or that he just didn't connect with the characters. What do y'all think?
