As it's a No Real Life Examples, Please! Trope, I removed it from the Useful Notes pages.

The original term, Gannon Banned, at least made it clear (for Zelda fans like me) that the fan ire is based around factual mistakes you would see in mainstream news articles that didn't do research. Fandom Berserk Button does not do the same. It sounds like a guide of how to piss off fans regardless of factual mistakes or not. This is why the second image on the right was initially included on trope page before it was removed. It fit the term's description without the context of the actual trope:
I would recommend something like Fandom Factual Correction to highlight the specifics of this Fandom Berserk Button.
I went ahead and removed the quotes on Quotes.Fandom Berserk Button that weren't about objective mistakes that annoy fans.
On FandomBerserkButton.Sports, I re-added the part about people getting angry for saying NASCAR, motorsports, golf, cheerleading etc. aren't real sports, since it sounds like a misconception.

Keet cleanupCleaned up the F and G wicks. Mostly as an excuse to bump this thread.
Can discussing certain topics count as a Fandom Berserk Button? I've seen several examples that mention flamebait that makes fans argue.
Not unless the topics are objectively false. Merely making fans argue isn't enough, and the idea that it is is why this thread exists.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I'm thinking of adding a list of things that do not qualify as FBB to the description. I don't know if it would be okay to have it in the actual description (which is not relevant to anyone reading the page who isn't an editor), or if it would be best to have it commented out (and have it be unseen by anyone who adds wicks without editing the main page). I'd say the benefits or having it as visible text on the actual page outweigh the drawbacks.
This Audience Reaction has been subject to some misuse. Fandom Berserk Button is for objective mistakes that annoy fans. The following do not qualify:
- Admitting to having enjoyed certain parts of the work that other fans hate (such as the Star Wars prequels)
- Admitting to having watched or preferring the dubbed version of a foreign work.
- Using a character's translated name instead of the original.
- Mentioning certain unpopular fanon theoriesnote .
- Using a discredited or offensive meme.
- Not shipping the Fan-Preferred Couple.
- Liking an unpopular pairing.
- Liking controversial pairings, such as an abusive one or one that changes a canonically non-straight character's sexual orientation.
- Admitting that you dislike the series or its Sacred Cow.
- And most of all, admitting to being a fan of the work around non-fans.
If there's anything else to add to that list, feel free to mention them.

Add "Saying you dislike the series' or franchise's Sacred Cow."
Added. I'm also thinking that a list of things that do qualify as FBB could be added, since some other YMMVs have lists of common causes:
Here is a list of things that often do qualify as Fandom Berserk Button:
- Assuming a character's name based off the work's title.
- Misspelling a name, whether it belongs to a character, place, concept, the work itself, or the author.
- Mistaking fanon for canon.
- Claiming that a work is a rip-off of another due to superficial resemblances.
- Assuming that a work is "for kids" due to its appearance.
I might be paranoid, but I thought of the possibility that someone might be reading the FBB page without paying too much attention, see the list of things that don't count, accidentally miss the first paragraph that mentions that these things don't count, and mistake it for a list of things that do count as FBB. As such, I think that putting the list in a folder (and a second folder for the list of things that do count) might help, on top of making the page easier to read for people who don't care about that part.
It's been a few days, so if I don't get any objections I'll be adding the two lists to the description tomorrow.
Sounds good.
I think a list of guidelines is a good idea either way. It makes it clear that this is about fans reacting negatively to actual mistakes, as opposed to fans getting angry in general.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I added the lists. They could probably use a few more examples and non-examples.
I added this to the non-examples list:
- Admitting to liking The Scrappy or a Base-Breaking Character, or admitting to disliking a Base-Breaking Character.

I expanded the entry explaining that "Hatedom Berserk Buttons" don't count due to how many "Don't do/say X around people who don't like Y" examples there were before the cleanup.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Finished cleaning up wicks up to K.
EDIT: Done with L, M, and N
EDIT: Now doing pages that start with "The". Currently done with B

I found this example in the Webcomics folder and I'm not sure if it's an objective misconception or not:
- Dreamkeepers fans are usually pretty torn when it comes to pronouncing Namah's name. Some people say NAA-MUH, while others believe it to be NAY-MUH and refuse to back down in their opinions.
This sounds a bit more like Broken Base to me. Is there an official pronunciation somewhere?
Done cleaning all YMMV wicks.
Is it a good example?
- Fandom Berserk Button: Do not compare this series to Voltron: Legendary Defender. This largely esteems from the fact that as the Voltron fandom gathered a larger and larger amount of toxic people, many of the fans went out looking for a new show and a way to start a new fandom with less drama, finding The Dragon Prince in the process. By extension, Shipping is a rather loaded subject as many feel that that was the start of the Voltron fandom's toxicity.
That's not a factual error, so no, it needs to be cut. All of the relevant info is under Fandom Rivalry anyway.
The qualify and disqualify lists seem to have an item overlapping. The qualify list says that getting a character's gender wrong could coubt as FBB, which means mis-gendering a character. Meanwhile, the disqualify list says that getting the gender wrong of someone who dresses like the opposite gender or who's ambiguous. Basically, if you mis-gender someone who's androgynous doesn't qualify but the wording in the qualify list makes it seem like any mis-gendering could potentially count.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyA bunch of entries we're just added to Western Animation subpage, most of them not being about objective mistakes. I deleted some of them, but check if I missed some since I'm not familiar enough with My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (which most of the examples were for).
Those for FIM are not objectively wrong, but the line between "berserk button" and simply "things that casual fans get wrong" seems pretty thin.
Optimism is a duty.
