So far, the consensus for what examples to keep or delete are:
- Getting objective facts wrong, like mistakenly calling Link "Zelda": Keep
- Mentioning an overly popular and divisive work such as My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic around non-fans: Delete
- Saying you liked a part of a series that other fans hate, such as the Star Wars prequels: Delete
I'd like further opinions on some more types of examples:
- Shipping two characters together that many fans believe should not be shipped, such as Blake and Adam in RWBY.
- Saying you believe certain unpopular fanon theories.
- Admitting that you've skipped some parts of the work
- Disliking a work for a specific reason, such as saying you don't like Cuphead for being too difficult.
- Saying you don't like the Sacred Cow in a series.
- Using the translated name for a work with Dub Name Change or Market-Based Title.
My example on the Blaz Blue case would be "Say that Blaz Blue's dub doesn't matter in front of people who actually like the dub or play the game for the story".
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...No, that's an opinion and thus, as noted , not an example.
Would the Blaz Blue dub case really fall into Flame Bait? (I know your answer was about , but it fits well into my question.)

- I believe shipping two characters together that some fans believe should not be shipped is already covered by Ship-to-Ship Combat, so those examples can be removed.
- Cases where someone treats an unpopular fan theory as canon or fact can be seen as an objective mistake, so maybe keep those examples.
- Skipping parts of the work isn't an objective mistake, but it may fit under another YMMV item.
- Examples of disliking a work for a specific reason would fall under Complaining About People Not Liking the Show, which is In-Universe Examples Only, so those can be cut.
- Saying you don't like the Sacred Cow in a series would again fall under Complaining About People Not Liking the Show, so those can be cut.
- Using the translated names for works would fall under Subbing vs. Dubbing, so those can be cut.
It's fairly clear that this trope should be limited to objective mistakes, not opinions.
The very specific shipping example mentioned a few posts back, Blake and Adam from RWBY, is a rare case of a once-popular ship becoming objectively "wrong"... but merely admitting to shipping the two is still an opinion, so it's not an example.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I went and chainsawed some more misuse examples from the main page. To be more precise, I've cleaned up everything from the Tabletop Games folder to Web Original.
EDIT: Went over the rest of the main page.

Just cleaned up the Comic Books folder.
Cleaned up the Pokémon page. The entire Anime section was literally just "Don't say you like this thing or fans will get angry at you", so I removed it completely.
So. While I made some correction on the Dragon Ball mention of the Anime and Manga part, I'm now noticing that the Example Sectionectomy you guys so much wanted to avoid is actually happening.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...To help with the cleanup, I started a thread in Image Pickin' to discuss the trope image, since I'm sure one of the two panels does not qualify as an example. Since we're not cutting or renaming the page, the two threads can run simultaneously.
Those that want to share their thoughts can visit that thread. Otherwise, keep up the good work!
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportExample Sectionectomy is when the entire examples section is removed. Even if 80% of the examples turn out to be non-valid, I don't mind as long as we can keep the remaining 20%.
Did a bigger cleaning on the Dragon Ball example.
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...After being cleaned up, some of the subpages for works probably aren't large enough to warrant a separate page.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe page only has two examples after being cleaned up, so the page should be cut and those two examples can be moved to the live-action films subpage.

As should My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.
Also, I cleaned up Sonic The Hedgehog, but the description at the top of the page seems to be based on the "anything that pisses off fans" definition of the trope. It should probably be rewritten.

Now that it's decided it only applies to misconceptions, maybe it should get a more indicative name? "Fan Angering Misconception"?
I also think a rename might be a good idea. "Fandom Berserk Button" really sounds like it means "Anything that can piss off fans".
Dinkleburg and everyone on this thread. You are doing God's work. I couldnt read it for a second without getting pissed off.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I've gone through all the redirects and cleaned out as much as possible, but have questions about the following.
Nerd Rage and Pedantic Fan Rage: all misuses and referred to nerds being angry for the former. I'll cut unless anyone objectes.
Gannon-Banned: on archived pages so it stays. Is this an example of Fandom Berserk Button from YMMV.My Little Pony TV Specials?
- Gannon-Banned: Some fans will insist that it's Rescue at Midnight Castle not Rescue from Midnight Castle, since it was given this name in it's later incarnation as a regular series episode. However, this is an aversion as it was originally called simply "My Little Pony" when it was first aired in 1984.
Bannondorf: only exists in YMMV Redirects. Worth keeping?

I cut quite a few examples of misuse on various subpages.
I've actually been compiling a bunch of former examples of this trope and I've thought up a sister trope to what is currently called Fandom Berserk Button called "Fandom Triggering Element". If needed, it could be a Darth Wiki page. I'll give a brief description of the proposed trope:
In many works and franchises, there exist errors or misconceptions that can set off fans. However, there also may be something that isn't technically "wrong", but that bringing it up may result in flames from the fanbase. Maybe there is an entry in the franchise that resulted in a ton of backlash, or there is a character that is derided by the fandom, or a certain event that happened that is highly controversial, or there's an element that caused fans to complain. Whatever it is, it causes the fanbase to become filled with rage at the person that mentioned it. While many examples tend to be about saying anything positive about them, there also exists things that are held in such high regard that criticizing them can lead to same end result.
Note that this trope has to do with things that are considered objectively wrong in the eyes of the fanbase but aren't mistakes made by people.
For similar tropes, see also Fandom Berserk Button, Flame Bait, Internet Backdraft, Fandom Heresy, Serious Business, Fanon Discontinuity, and Broken Base.
Alternate names for this trope can be Fandom-Banned, Scrappy Topic, and Fan Intolerant Element.
For the Laconic description:
Bringing up a specific part of a work or franchise in a certain light can lead to Internet Backdraft.
"If you don't visit the unabridged version here, TV Tropes fans will yell at you."
The title is slightly too similar to Fandom Berserk Button and there is already confusion there. It has more in common with 'fandom heresy' or 'Internet backdraft,' so a name along those lines would be more apt.
I've also cleared up a few Fandom Berserk Button pages, and there are examples which could have a place elsewhere. Those are mostly viewpoints which the fandom is sensitive about - 'you can like/dislike this, yet not this.' A lot of entries were just Fandom Heresy rather than a new category. The 'triggering element' might require a clearer distinction from that - it still resembles fanbase divisions over what to like. Also, there aren't that many examples where fans will clarify that it is 'objectively false' in their view. 'Intolerant Element' or 'Scrappy Topic' seem like names less likely to cause confusion.
"Hello. Casually, tell her that she's died."
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
I was wandering around the Videogames section of this trope and I noted there are no Berserk Buttons for the Blaz Blue cases. I didn't add an entry on it (But I removed a duplicate entry about comparison between Final Fantasy XI and XIV) because I'm not sure if the entire dub mess on Central Fiction can count as one of these, and I don't know all of the berserk buttons this fanbase has.note
