Boardroom
Magpie burst out from her hiding place behind the wall. She landed on the meeting room table and turned back into her human form. This time, however, she made her transformation look like a smoke bomb.
When the smoke cleared, Magpie pointed at Lady Crimson.
"HALT!! These people are under the protection of the Tengu. As a messenger, I would like to state that this is unforgivable! I challenge you to a duel to decide the fates of these people. Do you accept?"

The two heroes spotted what appeared to be a supervillain robbing an ATM from above.
Both descended and confronted him. He reacted as if he knew them?
He then took control over a passing car and drove it towards the heroes! Both moved out of the way in time (Chroma using Super Running, Matten teleported). The goddess also saved the driver by (painfully) exceeding her power's limits. Pushing Teleport to add Affects Others to it, cost of 10 Hits, has 90 left.
Meanwhile, Chroma fired his Radiant Beam at the villain- and it went right through him, with no apparent effect! It struck a wall, leaving a small hole in it.
As for the now driverless car, it kept going until it smashed into a fire hydrant, ruining the front and also opening the hydrant, which began gushing water all over.

Boardroom
Magpie was very pleased that her trick had worked. However, she'd learnt her lesson from last time.
"GOOD!!" Magpie boomed. "We shall fight on the rooftop. After you." Magpie gestured for the group to go to the rooftops ahead of her.

I wear the skin of the Elder Things, having come unto my own.Crimson and Magpie stood, surrounded by the Cyberninjas.
Suddenly, they unsheathed their weapons, and charged at each other!
Typical anime scene;
two people run at each other w blades
one is wounded
the other sheathes her sword.
In this case, it was the (apparent) 10-year-old who stood unhurt, while Crimson bled. Attack 56, Defense 35. Damage 48, Soak 20. Total 28, has 72 Hits left.
The female Ninja turned on a dime and prepared to attack- but stopped, for some reason.
For a moment, she stared at Magpie, as if trying to figure something out.
Finally, she reached for a device in her suit, she pressed a button- and suddenly, she split in two identical copies!
One of the Lady Crimsons remained behind while the other one attacked. She managed to strike Magpie. Attack 24, Defense 20; Damage 45, Soak 21, total 24; has 76 Hits left.
As soon as she took the swing, however, her attacker began feeling- strange. One for Sorrow: causes Confusion on those who attack Magpie. Mind roll 27 vs 12

This time, Crimson -or her double- reacted first. She brought up her left gauntlet, and began shooting shurikens out of it at Magpie! However, just as the deadly missiles were about to hit her, a sudden wind pushed Magpie to the side, and the ninja stars whizzed right over her head, only to end up striking one of the surrounding Ninjas, who grunted and fell to the ground. (Crimson didn't even flinch.) Special Attack (Ranged) 21; Defense 20, boosted to 21 with a Hero Point gained from using Two for Joy, Heroes win ties
Magpie then attacks the clone with her katana. The entity warps and fizzles after being struck, and vanishes in a burst of sparks. Attack 28, Defense 15. Damage 48

Crimson, as ever, coldly calculated her next move. Still unsure of exactly what was the danger she felt about attacking Magpie was -but unwilling to surrender just yet- decided to fire another volley of shurikens at the girl. This time, they hit. Attack 18, Defense 16; Damage 24, Soak 6, 18 total. Magpie has 58 Hits left.
However, once again One for Sorrow was triggered, and the villain was cursed herself. Mind contest 21 vs 14
Magpie, despite her wounds, soldiered on attacked again! Sadly, this time the assassin took no damage the attack. Attack 28, Defense 10; Damage 9, soak 10

Once again, the crimson ninja charged- but this time, just as she reached Magpie she split up again- into tn copies!
The clones took slashes at the "little girl" with their katanas; several of them struck her, wounding her grievously. Duplication, Dupes count as Minions, uses Minion Gang Rule attack, one attack +5 to hit for every dupes, Attack 15 + 45 = 60; Defense roll 36, hit 4 times, gives a bonus of +4 to damage; Damage 65, Soak 9, total 56, has 2 hits left
Despite being covered in bleeding cuts and barely able to stand, the corageous girl-spirit refused to yield. Instead, she reached into her had, drew out a flare gun, and 'shooof! shot it into the sky.
Then she smiled, and said, "You'd better leave, before my masters come."
She and the Ninja Master had a Stare Match for a second. Deception/Lying roll 44, vs Deception roll 6
Crimson grunts, but then says, "very well. That flare will surely attract the city's other heroes now, anyway. But before I go: do you yield?"
Magpie sighed. "OK. you win."
The multiple Lady Crimsons merged into one. Then she sheathed her sword. "Then you may live" she added in her usual cold voice, making it impossible to tell if she was mad or not.
However, she then added, "You were a formidable foe. May we fight again another time."
Then, with a silent signal, the ninjas began moving out of the roof, and quickly disappeared.

Rooftop
Magpie sighed in relief after the ninjas disappeared. She couldn't believe that her gambit roulette had worked. Now, the ninjas probably respected her, and if Lady Crimson tried any dishonorable tactics, her minions' loyalty would be shaken.
It didn't change the fact that this whole business was her telling one ridiculous lie after another, nor did it change the fact that she was battered and bruised.
Magpie pulled out some cotton, rubbing alcohol, and bandages and began cleaning and wrapping her wounds.
When her wounds were securely wrapped, Magpie turned into a magpie and began a jerky flight towards street level.
I wear the skin of the Elder Things, having come unto my own.Somewhere near an ATM
If that was an illusion... Matten didn't spot the caster immediately but Chroma's beam going through him like the air and the environment not reacting to his presence meant ghost or trick of light. Even so, Matten would still tell the boy that the beam thing was just his fancy light patron's lack of mojo...
Anyway, the answer to light is.... "Chroma boy, care to be the lookout? All you have to do is watch the crowd to see who acts up when the Wizard of Wall Street disappears. And don't mind the rolling curtain."
Matten folded her arms. As soon as the boy acquiesced, a rolling 'wave' of dark would pass over the area, selectively blotting out the scene from sections of the audience.

The causes another hole on the brick wall, this time on the other side of the ATM machine, which had surprisingly survived intact so far.
"Watch out fellas, this guy is like a ghost or something!" the cop who had been standing around apparently doing nothing finally explained.
"Its time for you to to feel my shocking power!" the masked villain gloats. He gestures, and suddenly the cop's taser gun fires on its own!
"Hey what the!-" the policeman blurted.
Luckily, the electrically-charged projectile missed. Attack 14, Defense 24

"Oh darn," Matten spoke flatly. "You're torturing the innocent asphalt so..." Subtely, she shifted her aura, intending to burn the buffoon down to his very soul.

Still, she was just one, and Chroma had missed twice with his flashlight. "Oh, little birdy," Matten called to the new kid that had joined them. "Just to say, your arrows will probably go right through him, but...hand that bow here, and I'll give you a blessing just this once," Matten smirked a bit, despite biting her lip to choke down showing her pain from pushing herself—as usual. "Unless you decide to stick around..."

That done. Matten finally gave the buffoon a sideways glance. "By the way, this won't hurt nearly as much as your shocking power... She flicked her fingers at him, emphasizing the wisp of her aura rushing his way!

The combined attack had a partial effect. The mental energies did not affect the intangible villain, but the mystic energies did! Mind Blast 28, Mind Defense 28, hits; mental damage 15, mental Defense 32, no damage. Energy Cone damage 40, Defense roll 16 takes full damage- has 60 hits left.
"YEAAARGH!!" the ghostly villain roars in pain and fury.
Acclaration: I made an error earlier regarding Chroma's attack so I'm letting him hit for free to compensate.
The beam strikes the villain, and its radiance hurts him despite his immaterial form.
"HUUH!!" it recoils in pain.
He then grumbles, and exclaims, "You have won this time, Heroes! But don't assume you have seen the last of- Megabyte!!"
He then phases into a parked car, and it suddenly comes to life, and drives away on its own at full speed.
"Well, you hit. That was on me," Matten cocked her head at the dud. Well, it's been a while. "But," she palmed another arrow, "There's always next time..." She offered both Chroma and the newcomer her arms. "By the way, turn your heads left--my left at about 30 degrees and don't step into the street." A direct traverse later and they were awaiting the car and its doomed passenger.

Caught in the mystic energy cone again, the car offered no protection for the villain, who screamed once again. Damage 35, Defense roll 12 takes full damage; has 0 hits left.
The (badly damaged) car rolls to a stop, and then unconscious villain drops out of it- and into the ground, continuing to sink further until he was gone from sight.

Matten scowled at the disappearing villain who, quickly disappeared into the ground. "Don't think I'm not pursuing you, if there weren't a modest security issue to deal with first."
She felt out along the ground, but the buffoon had a lot of earth to shield his direction, let alone whereabouts. Matten harrumphed before spreading her wings. "Lighter-kid, we have to parade to deal with still."
Turning toward the newcomer she added, "And you, so serving. I'll give you another one of those divine arrows to play with it on the way. I assume you've heard today's top story. I need your name to put on a ticket though." She cocked her head at the newcomer as her darkness receded, feeling her out along the way. but you don't get kid rates, now matter how cute you are....
Sure, Matten had just met this not-kid, but she called the daeva 'mistress' at her first impression. If nothing else, that showed wisdom.

Look with century eyes... With our backs to the arch And the wreck of our kind We will stare straight ahead For the rest of our livesChroma wasn't entirely sure what Matten was talking about with the "kid-rates," but he was sure of two things.
1. Matten is Matten, and
2. Matten, despite being Matten, is usally right about things.
Because of this, he was reluctant to call the newcomer a kid, so he didn't.
"Nice shot, I didn't know arrows could hit cars. Just goes to show what I don't know. Anyway, I'm Chroma, that goddess over here," nodding to the daeva, "is Matten. She's real nice once you get used to her."

A Boardroom inside the building
A group of Asian and American men and women sat around a table.
"So, Mr. Ives" the obvious leader of the Asians asked, "will the new polymer be ready in time for use with our next robotics product?"
"You have my word" Ives, a pleasantly rotund man, responded. "Working with Yamashita is always an honor to us."
Suddenly-
Krash!!
The door busts open!
A woman in a red costume
◊ followed by several armed men in ninja-like gear, run into the room.
"Lady Crimson!" the CEO of the Japanese company gasps, standing in shock.
"You did not expect to see me?" she said, in a cold voice. "I guess news of my death were exaggerated.]]
"D-don't kill me!" the man begs. "I'll pay you anything!"
"I want your your life" is her still surprisingly cold answer.
JF: Magpie sees all this, and she hasn't been seen yet. What do you do?
