Alert at the boy's attempt to be reassuring, Matten semi-awkwardly sidestepped the boys hand. She would explain it later, but it wouldn't do if he keeled over before even reaching the stoop. Good luck, boy. You're the lady's type after all.

Matten clasped her hands together and went wide-eyed, like a girl 5000 years younger. "Well, why couldn't you help my friend out here? Not that I would trouble your more, but we shouldn't go stampeding through your home."

After several minutes of searching, Sister Strigoi noticed something odd - the house had no foundation.

Her suspicions that something was wrong were confirmed - not that that helped her find a way in.

Well then, she’d just have to make one.

She stepped back and slammed into the wall, shoulder first.

(Strength check.)

Yu-Na thanked the Sister.

She saw an old woman come out of the wooden house. The girl saw how Aurelia and Chroma entered with a suspicious old lady. Hood decided to wait until there would be a certain reaction in the house. The wooden building itself did raise some suspicion in Yu-Na. She speculated that the house was an entity of some sort.

The girl readied herself to fly straight to the house just in case there would be a trouble for the hero.

Strigoi's blow actually made the house shake slightly. It also dented a wooden board- but surprisingly, did not break it. 27 damage, Soak 24, 3 damage

Meanwhile, Chroma and Aurelia followed the old woman inside.

It was very dark in there.

And it got darker when the door slammed shut behind them!

They looked around, but could see nothing around them -not even walls- other than the floor under their feet.

The old woman vanished too.

Huh, never thought Aurelia would be done in by Amityville. I have to go save them, don't I...? "And more importantly, you never answered me, Grandma Skinny!" Matten stalked away from the house and towards the nearest car on the street.

Ok, I could wait, until they call for help, but the door closing on its own, Lady Skinny, and this wretched set, just means I'll probably be smelling them in baked goods soon. And Aurelia would make an awful pie...

And this time, I have insurance... After looking at several (perfectly functional) vehicles, Matten settled on a truck of approximately suitable color and make and model.

Skill: jury-rig; roll 24, difficulty 20.

The truck came alive, and Matten found a stone before shifting it into gear. Now at the first sign of trouble she'd have a self-propelled battering ram—and she'd do something about the expenses. If Aurelia made a big deal of it. Matten was licensed now. She could probably call this official requisition. Or something.

Singe had noticed that at least one of the other gangsters had still been standing.

After he'd saved the other guys that someone had callously hung up to dry, he'd originally pondered whether or not following the guy was part of his job. He wasn't there to arrest anyone, after all.

Of course, when literally every super there started to follow someone who looked like a Nun, Singe was forced to sigh and admit that he couldn't just do nothing about this. Odds were that they were going to go get into trouble. Trouble he'd probably be called in to help deal with.

At the very least, he could make sure the guy who looked kind of drunk got out alright.

After a bit of following, he watched the Nun sneak off, and a somewhat creepy looking Grandma invite the other heroes inside. Singe held off on saying something, but he wasn't sure who he should have been concerned about- were these superpowered thugs, or was the Grandma something more then she seemed?

His suspicions were confirmed when the door seemed to slam shut behind them. Something was wrong about this house.

Glancing at the Nun- who was shoulder-slamming the wall- and the door, he sighed and jogged over to the former. "Let me try! Stand back!"

Taking a stance that was quite familiar to him, he drew his fire-axe and started swinging, the blade biting into the wood. "Timber!"

"Shit."

Chroma moved his goggles from his face to his forehead. It was dark in here enough, and he figured that he wouldn't die if Aurelia saw his eyes.

"Hey, uh, eel-lady, I'm gonna turn on the lights-kind of. Don't murder me. That goes for anything else in the room."

Chroma then readied a Light Beam, but instead of releasing it, he kept his fist clenched again, but this time, it wasn't to create a flash bang, it was to light up the room.

Special Effect: Light

Sister Strigoi watched the newcomer with interest and no small amount of amusement as he tried to help her.

Inside the house, Chroma's light barely managed to illuminate the room. The only thing he and Aurelia could tell, is that the house was apparently larger on the inside than it was on the outside.

"Heehehehehehe" a shrilly laugh suddenly could be heard. The heroes would then see the Old Woman, staring at them from a staircase that apparently led to a second level.

'Welcome, heroes" she then said. "If you're tired, I can find you a nice place to sleep..." (grins)

Eel lady? She literally just introduced herself! Aurelia gave the rainbow man a blank stare.

“Why would I kill you? You are neither a clear and present threat to my life, nor have I received a kill order, which is a rare occurrence in any case.”

His nonsensical statements aside, the light he generated proved very helpful. Aurelia shot the old woman a toothy grin.

“Can I take that as a threat? Because I’m authorized to use force to deal with threats.”

Yu-Na saw how the door closed off like in one of thosr horror movies. "As suspected. I hope mermaid woman and another hero will be alright..."

In an attempt to help them, Yu-Na blasted the door with her Wraith Blast. The reason she decided to just blast the doors was because, as she saw how other heroes (including the one with an axe who jusy joined in the fun) struggled to destroy the house, she suspected that flying sttaight to her would do more damage to herself.

Destitution Drive

As the two gunmen fell, Rampart lowered his pistol, though, just as he wanted to enter the building another person came flying. Seeing them, Rampart shortly turned in the direction with the shield raised, though, seeing she was indeed a hero he contracted Keep, holstering his pistol. "I am Agent Rampart from URGENT. I am here to apprehend someone." Shortly, Rampart thought about asking for their hero license, yet he knew that this was not the best time. He was about to say more when he heard the gunshots, instantly extending Keep to its full size again, turning in the direction of the building with it and starting to make his way there, only shortly looking back to Yu-Na to gesture her to follow, yet he noticed that she was already gone, instead turning back to the building.

"Sorry, most water-borne women- Jesus!" Chroma was not prepared to see the woman's teeth, though, admittedly, he should have been.

He looked at Aurelia, and then back at the old lady. "Yeah, I think that's a threat. 100 percent."

He readied a light beam in his other hand and fired it at the old lady.

The interior of the room lit up, so Flashfinger lives yet? Matten watched the light through the window, though it seemed very weak in the still mostly dim place. Another, profane source of darkness? Well, so long as they were alright... Hm...

Matten caught the newcomer doing his level best to creep up behind her in an alley. She almost sweatdropped. He failed while I was in an active car.

Of course, before she could tell the baby-gangster to leave or give him a spanking, well, she's not one to be a stickler on the order but at some point parts of chest exploded, and she was suddenly spitting blood from the mouth. Red oozed down her ascot.

Bugger! She would have yelled it but had more sputtering to do. Not too embarrassing. Rostam beat the White Div with a sword... Though that's no Rostam... Matten watched her blood flow. and this is no White Div... If Teriitahi's body took too much, Matten knew well, she'd cease being able to move.

Finally, the blood stopped for a moment. "Thanks alot. You did it. Someone ruined my suit at long last," Matten wished she could sound less shaky and raspy, but that had hurt. "Also, 'finally?' If you took time to find me, that makes you an idiot!" Hotel Teriitahi is not like The Little Shop That Wasn't There Yesterday.

"Hey, Hood-child, may want to look alive. Go find the other two. Bullets hurt apparently." Matten knew it was obvious but it emphasized her point. "Fire-kid, Ms. Holy-face! Another problem and he shoots, like he had some actual training..."

Matten leaned back in the truck. I just stole-er commandeered this thing, and now there are bullets in it, and I didn't even use it yet... "But, we can still make proper introductions," Matten glared at her everything below, drenched in red. "After I'm more presentable..."

Without a sound, Matten had returned to the tailor that Jeffrey had driven her too earlier. After hours by now of course, but she left the jacket and overshirt with a note. Poor lad, he just made this. Still no one was there, and she took the chance to stitch herself up—and do something about her Khvarenah's exposed thinness.

Teleportation-20 miles ( push-10 for second nature); dice-stunt: boost brawn 03 (boosted khvarenah toughness to endure attacks [soak] for the scene; 34 hits

Inside

The laser goes soaring inches from the witch's head, but she ducked just in time- as if she knew it was coming!

"Oh ho, being mean to seniors? That's a no no!" she mocked Chroma.

She then began saying some kind of chant: "Ya proklinayu tebya!"

Suddenly, the young hero would feel himself becoming overcome with Vertigo. Confusion: Mind Check 24 vs 40, -4 on Agility checks for 3 pages, might snap out of it with a Mind Check once per Panel

Outside

Yuna's attempt to blast in failed, though it did damage the incredibly though wooden house further. 8 points of damage, it has 84 left

Meanwhile, the so-called goddess strained herself to inhuman levels but managed to gain the Power to instantly teleport at Long Range and increase her strength as well. Spent 20 Hits by Pushing to gain Second Nature on Teleport plus Boost Brawn, will last the full scene. She has 24 Hits left.

The revenant managed to hear the oncoming police juggernaut, for all the good it did him; he had been too distracted by his anger at the vanished goddess . Sense roll 24, difficulty 10

Rampart bodily slammed the undead killer; the impact was so strong it flung him against a wall, where he got crushed even more. He then dropped to the ground, badly hurt but still conscious. Bringing the axe down into the house once more, Singe glanced at the nun. "Well... I guess its my job to do this kind of thing. You all traipsed off with a gangster and Matten, which was concerning enough, a couple of you essentially disappeared into this old house after the door slammed shut ghost-story style, and you're trying to get in here. Not to mention you're a Sister of the faith, which kinda vouches for good... intentions..."

Orange eyes glowing beneath his hood, Singe stared at her, "Madam, you, ah... your body temperature is dangerously below normal levels. You're way below the point where a normal person would have fainted, and at the point where you should be in a hospital."

He gave her a quick once over. "Even people with ice-powers tend to maintain a consistent body temperature. But I'm going to trust that you know whether or not you're freezing to death. Now-"

Before he could finish, he heard the semi-familiar sound of gunshots. Glancing in the direction that Matten had gone, he sighed, and turned back to his new "friend."

"Do you want to check that out, or do you want to get into this house? Normally I'd prefer to go in the mundane way," Singe offered. "Either way, it'll be flashy."

Outside the House

Sister Strigoi smiled at Singe’s concern.

“You’re a very kind man. But I am not a normal person, and we’ve more important things to worry about.”

She ran her fingers against the wall.

“Something is very, very wrong here. And whatever it is, the house is the key. We may as well finish what we started here.”

She punctuated her statement by punching the wall.

If this wasn’t working, they’d try another way. There had to be another way in.

Yu-Na heard Matten's cryptic warning, then saw how she disappeared, heavily wounded by shots. The attacker was a sniper of some sort, who seemed to have a grudge against the goddess. Then she noticed how Rampant bashed the villain with all his might.

Figuring that the snipers won't be any good in melee combat, she flew up to him and attempted to grapple the undead villain.
