You mean Azama or Akaza... I r confus
It's Akaza. Nobody is named Azama in the manga.
Yeah, my bad.
I'm actually interested that some of the villains in here get some at least of a backstory I remember Muzan has one right
The demons' backstories are one of the best parts of the manga IMO. The Spider Mountain arc and the Red Light District arc has the best demon backstories in particular.
It's really impressive how well this manga can do 'tragic villain' so well.
And then you have Hantengu whose backstory just makes him so much more contemptible
@Lightysnake Hey dude! Just wanna ask... So who's your favorite backstory of them all in terms of demons? Daki and Gyuutarou doesn't seem bad either
Yeah, this series can do very good backstory in while not spending that much time in flashback land. Seriously, it rare in this series to have 2 or more chapter worth of flashback.
About Hantengu, technically they didn't win again him because they stronger than him, they only win cause they explored his power weakness and it was morning. Like no one could defeat his Hatred clone, the Love Pillar can only hold the clone back and give the others time to chase after the main body.
My was Hantengu since it give so little info about his past, yet from what we can see, both in the past in the present it clearly show how despicable he is.

Upper Moons 6-4 seemed to mostly depend on their gimmicks....Daki and Gyutaro's links, Gyokko and his pots, Hantengu and his emotions...but Akaza just eclipses them with sheer strength, speed and overwhelming force...honestly, maybe it's just how the fight went, but I don't quite see how Akaza is so much weaker than Doma. Maybe Doma just hasn't shown all he can do yet, even if he overwhelmed the hell out of Shinobu.
My favorite backstories? Gyutaro and Rui were great. Hantengu I enjoy because...no sympathy afforded there at all. He's just a whining, cringing coward who faked blindness to rob and murder people and refuses to take responsibility for anything while freely eating tons of innocent people. I found him more repugnant than Gyokko or Enmu
I think the flaw with the Moon system is that to get to higher rank, you need to challenge other moon. However, it only measure how good you were when fighting against other demon, not with demon hunter. Seriously, Gyutaro have the most dangerous ability when fighting demon hunter since it basically a 1 hit kill that quite easy to hit if not for Nezuko. It could also explain why they only 6th Moon, since maybe his poison don't work that well against higher moon.
Hantengu... Hmmmm... He's just that much of a Hate Sink more than anything but nah :P
Well, Doma seems immune to poison. Thing is? It's made pretty explicit, IMO, that the moon structure goes based on power. Doma made it very, very clear Akaza couldn't defeat him or Kokushibo...
and Kokushibo is bound to be a beast
And up next is Who Would Win challenge:
Who would win: Michael Jackson Vampire or One Former Warrior Boi (Talking about Kokushibo btw )
This week, another excellent episode of SHUP UP TANJIROU.
Seriously, everything is brilliant, but the narration badly needs to be trimmed down. Half of it is completely unnecessary. The last scene would have been so much more powerful without it.

This episode did seem to be quite a bit of filler, honestly. I'm a little worried this was the start of the downslide given ufotable's egregious tax crimes.
Actually this is exactly like in the manga. I guess it was out of fear of cancellation from WSJ back when the manga was just starting that the author have to rush a lot of point the readers might not have the patience to sit through. It my least favorite part of the manga but a necessary one since it make Tanjirou an okay-ish swordman without seem like an asspull.
Well she most likely didn’t want the training to go on longer than it needed too.
After all a good training montage is generally just shots of working out punctuated by a “X time later” at the top corner.

The author is female, this is her second work i think.
Huh didn't know that.
The series didn't really hit its stride until Zenitsu and Inosuke got introduced properly, unfortunately. The arc after their introduction is the Spider Mountain, which I still think is the best arc of the manga.
Next episode or 2 is about the final exam, then after that we meet the demon lady & her butler.
So Zenitsu & Inosuke should show up after episode 10.
Oh my, that latest chapter.
Kimetsu can do Alas, Poor Villain so damn well.
So I'm getting the feeling Akaza will survive? This is the longest flashback, with 2 whole chapters decicated to it. He also apparently can still fight, unlike other demons who get their flashbacks when they were obviously dying.
I doubt it. Koyuki is begging him to let go and go to the afterlife with her.
