If Star Wars can have a RPG thread, why not Trek?

Anyway, I'm surprised no one has made a new page for Star Trek Adventures. I have looked at the core rulebook and while I haven't gotten a look at the rules that uses Modephius' 2d20 system, I love the presentation and world building. One section acknowledges the Planet of Hats trope seen in the non-Human player races and encourages cultural and ethnic diversity.

[up]I still have fond memories of the Star Trek: TRPG. Not for the system, which was crap, but because I liked the FASA fluff a lot more than when Paramount pulled the license and started mostly from scratch after the start of TNG.

I loved the FASA version. I played it all through Jr. High and High School, despite the primitive rules. The starship combat system was actually quite nice, and is still very playable.

My group played both Last Unicorn Games and Decipher's versions at least once each. Neither made a very deep impression on us.

I haven't picked up the latest one yet, and I'm not sure I will. It could hardly beat my nostalgia for the FASA version, and it looks a little too much like the FFG version of Star Wars (though thankfully without the custom dice).

The Last Unicorn version sucked. The game mechanics were awkward, and the sample adventure was just... "uninspired" is the only way I can think to describe it.

Sample adventures are almost never any good, so I wouldn't be put off just by that.
