WHEN I WOKE, THERE WAS ONLY LIGHT. THAT LIGHT, I REALIZED, WAS ME.

IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO UNDERSTAND WHO I WAS. TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS. I'M STILL NOT ENTIRELY SURE. I AM ONLY SURE THAT I AM POWERFUL

I MADE A WORLD. I DID NOT KNOW WHERE I CAME FROM, BUT I HAD KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT IT WAS LIKE. IT HAD PLANTS, ANIMALS, PEOPLE. I MADE IT AS BEST I COULD.

I DISCOVERED EXISTENCE OUTSIDE OF MYSELF. I COULD SEE WHAT OTHER WORLDS LOOKED LIKE, THE WORLDS MADE BY THOSE WHO AREN'T ME. I WAS INTRIGUED

I FOLLOWED THEIR EXAMPLE. I CHANGED MY WORLD TIME AND TIME AGAIN, SEEING HOW NEW CIRCUMSTANCES AFFECTED IT. I LIKED DOING THAT. IT HELPED ME TO LEARN, AND LEARNING HELPED ME TO CREATE.

IT EVENTUALLY BECAME TYPICAL. I KNEW HOW EVERYTHING WOULD HAPPEN BECAUSE I MADE IT HAPPEN, BECAUSE I SAW HOW THE OTHER WORLDS WERE LIKE ALREADY. I HAD GROWN STAGNANT. NOTHING I MADE WAS WHAT I DID NOT ALREADY KNOW.

THAT IS WHY YOU ARE HERE - WHY YOU ARE ALL HERE - TO HELP ME. I WILL TEST YOU, MOTIVATE YOU, OBSERVE YOU. IN RETURN, YOU WILL TEACH ME. I DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR WORDS. I WILL LEARN SIMPLY THROUGH YOUR SURVIVAL.

Greetings and hello, fellow Tropers. Welcome to BOUND!

As the title says, this is a Crossover roleplay, inspired by the likes of City of Lost Characters and A Game Of Gods, where an all-powerful being brings your characters into its world. As for why, well, see above.

In BOUND, you will pick two characters to play at the same time. This is different from what usual multiple-character roleplays you might know about in that whatever two characters you pick must share a Bond - an important trait that both characters share. More on that at the end of the...

Guidelines

  • Both the Forum Rules and Roleplaying Rules apply here, of course.
  • As of right now the only restriction on characters is that the must already exist, as in a canon character. No OCs.
  • Anyone/anything with obviously overpowered...powers...are going to need to be nerfed. For reference, anything from a super-buff Super Weight 4 and up would need a nerf.
  • However, there is a restriction on your two characters as a whole; they must both be from different universes. It would defeat a lot of the purpose if they came from the same canon, wouldn't it?
  • The Bond shared by your two characters is, essentially, a significant trait that they both share. The only requirement is that this trait is something integral to the character - their motivation, their origin, their powers, etc. Other than that, you're free to base their Bond as whatever you like. Be as creative as you want!
  • Have fun! This might seem a bit weird to say, but honestly, I can be pretty lenient as a GM (or at least I hope I can). So long as you stay in character and follow the rules mentioned above, you can do whatever you like, so long as it fits the roleplay! For any big things, just be sure to run it by me or other players.

Now that I'm pretty sure I have everything out of the way, have at thee!

Application

  • Name: Birth name, nicknames, aliases, you know.
  • Age: Should we be worried about a midlife crisis or a diaper change?
  • Appearance: A picture's worth a thousand words, so save yourself the trouble if you can.
  • Universe: The canon where the character's from. Can be taken from any point, too.
  • Personality: How your character walk-n-talks.
  • Backstory: Try to keep it brief, with the important events in the character's life.
  • Powers & Skills: Anything this character can do that others can't. A good jumper? Shoots lasers from his nose?
  • Equipment: Anything the character has on them at the point they're taken, or what they typically have on their person, if taken at a time when they're naked or something.
  • Bond: This is where you put the thing. The connection that both this and the next character has in common. Remember: it must be a very integral part of their characters, and it can be more than one thing if they share other similarities. You don't have to include this part in both applications, by the way.
  • Other: Any information that seems important, funny, or trivial enough that didn't qualify for any of the other categories.

Accepted Pairs

Color me interested! I was just thinking 'I really want to RP this character'.

  • Name: Noel Vermillion ('Mu-12', 'Eye of the Azure'/'Child of the Azure', 'Sword of the Godslayer')
  • Age: Appears physically and mentally to be a young adult (chronologically is only a handful of years old due to her artificial nature)
  • Appearance: "Um... hello there."
  • Universe: BlazBlue (from around the beggining of Chronophantasma)
  • Personality: Noel is the textbook definition of introverted; shy, not good with words, and generally nervous and insecure. She scares easily, fawns over cute things and is passionate about cooking and poetry (whilst lacking skill in either). When her friends and loved ones are concerned, she cherishes them deeply, and will put aside her insecurities for their sake. After recent events, she is more willing than ever to put her life on the line, but is even more uncertain of herself, having discovered that she is not human.
  • Backstory: Created as the 12th in a line of superweapons utilizing the Nox Nyctores 'Murakumo', Noel was central to the plans of the nefarious Yuuki Terumi. However, before she could be completed, the lab that housed her was destroyed by a satellite strike, leaving her seemingly an orphan in the war-torn Ikaruga region. She was soon adopted into the Vermillion family and grew up under militaristic NOL rule, eventually enlisting and becoming a Lieutenant of the Praetorian Guard. When Yuuki Terumi's plans went into motion once more, Noel was forced to confront her true nature, and in her distress was easily brainwashed and used by Terumi, almost destroying the world at his behest. Thankfully, the efforts of some newfound friends saved her from that fate, and after recovering, she has now set out to investigate and put a stop to Terumi's plans, as well as those of his mysterious superiors.
  • Powers & Skills:
    • Acrobatic: While Noel isn't the most athletic individual outside of combat, when in combat, the mental barriers of Bolverk and her ingrained programming kick in and inhibit her fear and allow her to be more acrobatic. She can flip, leap, somersault, and otherwise confuse enemies with her mobility.
    • Eye of the Azure: Having been accepted by the Azure, Noel has the power to affect causality... in her world that is. Here, it has no effect.
    • Murakumo: As a biological superweapon, Noel possesses the potential to transform into a more powerful Murakumo form. However, outside of being brainwashed by Terumi, she hasn't the slightest clue how to access it.
  • Equipment:
    • Arcus Diabolus: Bolverk: An ancient weapon known as a Nox Nyctores forged during the Dark War from human souls, Bolverk is a partially sentient weapon that has chosen Noel as its wielder. It takes the form of a pair of guns that fire with no limits to ammunition. It fires not by traditional projectiles, but by creating explosions of energy a distance away, allowing it to essentially shoot through cover. Bolverk can also take the forms of other firearms; including a pump-action shotgun, an explosive crossbow, a minigun and an RPG launcher. These other forms typically cannot be spammed willy-nilly and will work on a cooldown.
    • Lux Sanctus: Murakumo: Another Nox Nyctores and the starting point of the Murakumo project. It takes the form of an armor that forms around Noel, and it grants her access to these new abilities:
      • Turrets: Floating sentries that fire lasers. She can have a maximum of four out at a time and can be used to ricochet lasers off of each other to confuse opponents.
      • Blades: Granted a set of floating blades controlled telekinetically.
      • Flight: A controlled flight. She can hover, jet through the sky, or float slightly above the ground.
      • Slight Healing Factor: She will be able to heal faster from wounds, but cannot regrow limbs or body parts.
      • Learning Curve: At the beginning of the RP, Noel isn’t even sure how to use it. Perhaps it will only come to her in a time of great distress, or if she learns to accept herself for who she is.
      • Appearance: Maaaybe a little NSFW.
  • Other:
    • Fear of Bugs: The easiest way to scare her is to put any kind of insect in her line of sight.
    • Love of Pandas: The easiest way to get on her good side is to give her a panda bear.
    • Voice Actor Headcanon: Cristina Valenzuela

  • Name: Sol Badguy ('Frederick', 'Flame of Corruption', 'God of War')
  • Age: Appears to be an adult, is really close to two-hundred
  • Appearance: "Let's cut the crap and get movin'."
  • Universe: Guilty Gear (from just before Xrd -Sign-)
  • Personality: Sol is extremely anti-social and perpetually grumpy. While he's plenty intelligent (and is in fact near prodigious in magic theory), he hates putting in any effort and typically prefers to brute force his way through his problems. Beneath this tough shell, he's a hurt and guilt-addled individual who can't let go of a centuries-long grudge.
  • Backstory: Once a human scientist named Frederick dabbling in the study of magical stem cells (known as 'Gear Cells') for medical purposes, he somehow became the first test subject of those cells, becoming the prototype Gear. When Gear Cells began to be used for military purposes, he tried to sabotage the entire project, but couldn't shut it down before the first Gear, Justice, began to lead a violent revolt against humanity that lasted a hundred years. Sol did his part to end the war, and once that was over and done with, began a journey to find That Man, the inventor of Gear Cells and now worldwide war criminal, all while wrestling with the place Gears like him have in the world.
  • Powers & Skills:
    • Engineer: Is a skilled engineer, making and touching up anything from mechanical swords to motorcycles.
    • Fire Magic: Sol specializes in the use of fire magic, touching up his close-range attacks with flames or throwing said flames at enemies.
    • Gear Cells: Sol is a Gear, and is more resilient and stronger than the average human. While he won't be lifting trucks with one finger, he can punch a neat hole into the side of one, or a brick wall. His natural healing ability is also accelerated, able to regenerate wounds quicker than humans, though he is unable to regenerate missing limbs or body parts.
    • Dragon Install: Sol releases his limiters and unleashes his true potential as a Gear. It temporarily grants him these abilities:
      • Enhanced Strength: Sol won’t be collapsing skyscrapers or mountains, not in this RP, but he’ll finally be able to lift that truck. Both hands, though.
      • Enhanced Speed: In this form, Sol sprints like a cheetah and has the reaction time of one of them punching lobsters.
      • Enhanced Fire Magic: His magic is bolstered and has an extra kick to it, consistently doling out TNT level explosions.
      • Flight: Same deal as Murakumo. Sol will be able to hover, fly and float.
      • Disadvantages: Dragon Install is temporary, and when it runs out, will cause Sol to be stunned, and he will also suffer a temporary nerf to strength, speed, and stamina.
      • Appearance: Riding the fire.
  • Equipment:
    • Junkyard Dog Mk.III: Sol's sword. It consists of two parts, the casing that houses an inner sword and regulates its power, and said inner sword; a fire magic enhancing flat blade known as the Fireseal. The whole thing is somewhat blunt, and Sol seems to use it more as a punching implement than an actual sword. He can also use it to control his fire magic power output, ranging from tiny fire-starting sparks to TNT level explosions.
    • 'Rock You' Headband: Sol's headband that limits the potential of his Gear Cells. Unleashing Dragon Install requires releasing the limiters in this headband.
  • Other:
    • Sheer Heart Attack: Is a fan of Queen and rock music in general. He keeps a 'Sheer Heart Attack' vinyl record back home that he unfortunately couldn't bring with him here.
    • Smoking Habit: Fancies himself a cigarette here and there.
    • Voice Actor Headcanon: D.C. Douglas

Bond: Noel and Sol are both biological weapons that appear to be human, and struggle with their natures. Noel hasn't completely come to terms with her articial nature, and concerns herself over the fact that she 'isn't real', while Sol is afraid of the destructive potential of his power, and weary from the long lifespan his Gear Cells have granted him.

Didn't expect someone to catch on that fast. Welcome!

I don't have a lot of knowledge on either games, so I'll take your word on leaving out both the Lux Sanctus: Murakumo and Dragon Install, though I would allow them if you'd like, just with any changes they might need.

Otherwise, Noel & Sol are accepted.

I just can't not.

  • Name: Heather Mason (prefers Cheryl Mason; formerly Alessa Gillespie)
  • Age: 17
  • Appearance: "Don't you think blondes have more fun?"
  • Universe: Silent Hill 3 (immediately after killing God)
  • Personality: First and foremost, Heather is a snarky, quick-witted, and brave girl. She wouldn't have made it through Silent Hill if she didn't have the stomach for horrifying sights of brutality; in fact, her experience in that town has left her downright desensitized to gore and violence. Her temper is quick and her tongue is sharp, so enemies need to be ready for her to skewer them verbally and with her guns. There is a softer side to Heather, though. When around people she cares about, she's incredibly affectionate and loyal
  • Backstory:
    • Heather's story begins with Alessa Gillespie, a young girl who developed psychic powers. Labelled a witch by her classmates, she only had one friend: a younger girl named Claudia. Both girls had abusive parents who were fanatically devoted to their cult. Alessa's mother realized that her powers would be ideal to birth the cult's god, and had her burned alive in a ritual to get her pregnant.
    • Alessa was able to split her soul in half, creating a baby who was adopted by a young couple, who named the baby Cheryl. Very soon afterwards, the wife became sick and died, leaving Harry Mason to raise the girl alone. During what was supposed to be a normal trip to a nice resort town, Cheryl and Harry became separated, and Alessa was merged back with Cheryl, birthing God in the process. Harry was able to kill God, but not save Alessa or Cheryl. However, Alessa was able to split her soul yet again, giving Harry another daughter, Heather.
    • Heather lived for several years, oblivious to her past, until Claudia returned, determined to birth God successfully this time. She killed Harry, causing Heather to follow her back to Silent Hill for revenge. After much soul searching, Heather learned the truth about her past, and aborted the God before it could kill her. Claudia, however, managed to save and birth the God herself, which Heather killed.
  • Powers & Skills: Alessa had powerful psychic abilities such as telekinesis, levitation and astral projection. It is unclear if Heather has any of those powers, but there are hints that she has some, so perhaps with training she could become psychic herself. Otherwise, she is a fit young woman who can defend herself if need be.
  • Equipment:
    • Silenced Pistol: While not very powerful, Heather is very accurate with this gun. It can hold up to ten rounds at once.
    • Knife: A small, quick, not very strong switchblade.
    • Katana: A traditional Japanese sword that Heather has no training in. She knows the basics of how to swing it at an enemy, but that's about it.
    • Maul: Large and unwieldy, the maul has a larger range than Heather's other weapons, and is much more powerful. Due to its weight, it significantly slows her down when moving, and she needs a lot of time to wind it up and recover from an attack.
    • Shotgun: Can hold up to 6 rounds at once, Heather has difficulties handling this gun. Most effective at close range, it's slow to reload.
    • Stun Gun: A taser that Heather can only use in melee range and runs on batteries.
    • Submachine gun: Heather can only use this gun while standing completely still, as the recoil is too much for her otherwise. It has good range and is very powerful, but it eats through ammo at an incredible rate.
    • Bulletproof Vest: Worn under her white vest, this can help Heather block attacks from enemies. It is very heavy, however, and slows her movement down.
  • Other:
    • Among Heather's non-weapon items are some random pieces of paper and a notebook from her dad detailing her history. It is covered in blood and she is very protective of it.

  • Name:
    • Birth name: Sarah
    • Adoptive name: Garnet Til Alexandros XVII
    • Alias: Dagger
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: "I've never walked around so freely in my life before!"
  • Universe: Final Fantasy IX (between her mother's death and her coronation as queen)
  • Personality: Due to her sheltered upbringing, Dagger is a pretty naive girl, but curious about the people and places past her castle walls. She cares deeply for everyone and everything, wanting to protect as much of the world from harm as she can. Thanks to her adventures with Zidane and co., she has gained a lot of self-confidence and bravery. She is much more willing to actively protect others using her eidolons.
  • Backstory:
    • Before she was a princess, Dagger was a summoner from a tribe on a different continent to the town she is named after. Her people were attacked by a man named Kuja, and she had to flee alongside her birth mother, who didn't survive the trip. Dagger was not an orphan for very long, as she was quickly adopted by the king and queen of Alexandria due to how much she looked like their dead daughter.
    • While she was happy for a while, after her father's death, her mother became cold, thanks to the encouragement of Kuja, who fed her greed. Knowing that something was wrong, Dagger ran away to see her uncle. Finding evidence that her mother was building an army, Dagger returned to confront her, but was taken prisoner, where her mother removed her eidolons and was willing to have her executed.
    • After escaping, Dagger tried to fight back and defeat Kuja, hoping it would bring some sanity back to her mother. Unfortunately, her mother died in her arms, begging for forgiveness, leaving Dagger to take the throne of Alexandria.
  • Powers & Skills: Dagger is a powerful summoner and white mage. She has both spells and summons she can use during battle.

  • Spells:
    • Cure: A simple healing spell
    • Life: Dagger can revive people who are unconscious, but only barely.
    • Panacea: A spell that leeches toxins from the target.
    • Reflect: A spell that can cause any magic to be reflected back onto the user. Dagger can cast this on one person at a time, and it only lasts for a few seconds.
    • Scan: Dagger can use her magic to learn an enemy's health and weaknesses.
    • Berserk: The target of this spell moves faster and hits harder, but attacks random people, including allies. It has a decent chance of connecting, but can miss sometimes.
    • Confusion: Causes the target to act erratically. It only hits half the time.

  • Summons: All summons use up Dagger's energy, and can leave her exhausted if she tries to use more than she can handle at once.

    • Ramuh: Uses lighting and thunder to destroy Dagger's foes.
    • Shiva: Freezes Dagger's enemies solid.
    • Ifrit: Burns enemies alive with his flames of Hell.
    • Leviathan: Drowns his enemies with a tsunami.

  • Equipment:
    • Stardust Rod: A stick that Dagger can smack people over the head with. It helps her channel her magic.
    • Magic Armlet: Gives Dagger slight protection and helps her channel magic better. It also gives her an advantage over bugs.
    • Mythril Vest: Armor chestplate that weakens water attacks made against her.

  • Bond: Both Heather and Dagger have been hurt badly by people who they had considered family. These betrayals were also focused on their inherent magical abilities, which the traitors wished to use in order to bring forth gods they could use to destroy the people they didn't like. This turned out to be the downfall of both Claudia and Brahne, despite neither girl wanting them to die like that.

Sorry, but no. Canon characters only. Guess I should've made that clearer.

@Skooter 910: Don't see anything wrong here. The only thing that might be a hiccup is how Berserk and Confusion would work in this context. I'm not saying they have to go, only to put some specifics in, like how long they would last or how it's cast.

Otherwise, Heather and Dagger are accepted!

  • Name: (Princess) Suzuka
  • Age: Over a hundred
  • Appearance: "The tougher the opponent the more fun is to make them squeal"
  • Universe: Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Endless Frontier (after the ending of the first game)
  • Personality: Despite being a princess, Suzuka is very casual, although she does still try to keep a regal air to herself. She's very straight-forward to the point of being blunt and has a dry wit that allows her to throw verbal jabs at others very well. She has an interest in androids and machinery in general, wanting to figure out how the technology in them works. She can be a bit of a brute sometimes, not being afraid of resorting to brute force if she feels like it's the best way to get what she wants. She's very proud of her skills both as a dancer and a battler, as such, she has a very confident personality that is hard to break through.
  • Backstory: Suzuka is the Shiki-Oni princess of Kagura Amahara, who is a childhood friend and mentor of the human princess, Kaguya Nanbu. Despite the complicated story between the Shiki-Oni and Humans, Suzuka didn't bear any ill-will towards humans and made no attempts to take the world back from them. She joins Kaguya in her adventure, wanting to find out why there were so many "Mild Keil" crystals appearing all over her castle, but in the process ends up learning about the Einst, creatures that had been brainwashing people to serve their purposes, including Shuten, who she was bethroted to and at some point willingly started working for the Einst so that he could allow the Shiki-Oni to rule Kagura Amahara. As the adventure progressed, she managed to free Shuten from the control as well as make him realize the errors of his ways, as well as defeated the Einst and, in the process, merge all the worlds together.
  • Powers and Skills: Suzuka is very dexterous and nimble, as well as a very skilled dancer. She has enough balance in her that she can nearly effortlessly dance on top of Jyaki-GUN-Oh while it is moving. She can also fight using the strings attached to her fan, but she's not an effective fighter on her own.
  • Equipment:
    • Jyaki-GUN-Oh: A puppet made to look like a mini-mecha controlled by strings attached to Suzuka's fans. It is equipped with numerous gatling guns and rocket launchers and is also capable of flight.

  • Name: Alice Margatroid
  • Age: Unknown, but looks like a teenager.
  • Appearance: There's nothing better than strength in numbers! Big things are a combination of small things."
  • Universe: Touhou Project (sometime after the events of Hopeless Masquerade)
  • Personality: Alice is reserved, even acting cold at first, but she generally doesn't treat people badly unless they are really testing her patience. She's extremely hardworking to the point she sometimes seems detached from reality while focusing on her studies, something that can be seen as eerie or creepy by others. Due to living mostly by herself, Alice is a bit of a lonely person who has some difficulty with social interactions, although she remains polite, if blunt, towards the people she meets. She's a strategist to the core, always preferring to win through clever tactics over brute force, even if this means making herself weaker than she actually is. She does have a good amount of pride in her work and carries herself with a calm and collected atittude, backed off by her self-confidence.
  • Backstory: Not much is known about Alice's origins, only that at some point she was human, but her pursuit into magic led to her losing her humanity and becoming a Magician. Ever since then, Alice has lived in a house in the Forest of Magic, isolated from most others except for her neighbour Marisa Kirisame, who she often had to deal with and in a couple of occasions, teamed up with in order to resolve some of the incidents that happened in the land of Gensokyo. Other than that, Alice spent most of her time studying and improving her magic.
  • Powers and Skills: Alice herself isn't capable of much. She has great dexterity due to having to control her dolls manually and is also capable of flying completely by herself, but outside of those aspects she's not much tougher than a regular human girl.
  • Equipment:
    • Dolls: Alice's main form of combat is using dolls that she manually controls through strings. These dolls come in large numbers and have a variety of different methods of attack, be it by shooting magic bullets, laser beams, attacking people with spears, firing arrows, or even being used as magical explosives. Alice can also use her magic to enlarge them and make them stronger if needed, but only two at once.
      • Goliath Doll: A still in-progress type of doll made using Alice's magic on a regular doll. It's gigantic and is equipped with equally giant blades, however, the magic power used to create such a doll is too unstable which results in it blowing up after about a minute of usage, making it not very practical and downright dangerous to use, at least for now.
    • Grimoire: A grimoire containing very powerful fire, wind, ice and electric magic, but is normally kept sealed away by Alice since she doesn't want to fall to the temptation of using such brute magic to win her duels.

  • Bond: Both Suzuka and Alice fight by controlling puppets to do the fighting for them, being poor fighters themselves, are non-human in some fashion, and both are capable of a good amount of snark while having a confident personality. However, while Alice is reserved and prefers strength in numbers, Suzuka is energetic and uses a single, very powerful puppet that is capable of brute forcing through most situations.

  • Name: Winston
  • Age: 29
  • Appearance: "Imagination is the essence of discovery."
  • Universe: Overwatch
  • Personality: Calm, methodical, and something of a perfectionist, Winston would be right at home in the premiere universities of his world… that is, if he weren’t also an eight foot tall genetically engineered gorilla. In spite of his decidedly outlandish appearance and a heritage right out of a 1960s comic book, he’s laid-back, easygoing, and prone to using his prodigious intellect for the betterment of all mankind. That said, Winston does have his breaking point – and when he’s goaded into a towering rage, watch out!
  • Backstory: Winston was raised on an experimental lunar colony in the year 2047, one of a number of genetically modified apes designed to test long-term habitation in space. A prodigy among prodigies, Specimen 28 fell under the wing of Dr. Harold Winston, who helped nurture the young ape and instilled upon him the value of imagination and hope. When the other apes eventually rebelled against their creators, Winston, unwanted by his fellow primates, built a crude rocket and escaped to Earth, where he joined the global peacekeeping organization Overwatch, where he developed several innovations such as Lena “Tracer” Oxton’s trademark chronal accelerator. After the first fall of the organization, he would be instrumental in helping reassemble surviving members of the scattered team to deal with the rising threat of the terrorist organization Talon.
  • Powers and skills:
    • Gorilla Physiology: As a mountain gorilla, Winston has the proportionate strength and agility of an adult silverback of his species, including natural dexterity with his hands and feet.
    • Primal Rage: When Winston loses his temper - or willingly lets go of his higher functions - he reverts to his natural gorilla instincts… which also means that whoever’s in the immediate vicinity is prone to get a good thrashing.
  • Equipment:
    • Tesla Cannon: Winston’s primary weapon is a large electrical weapon that sprays a short-range electrical barrage, capable of painfully electrocuting individuals who stay in its area of effect for too long.
    • Jump Pack: An powerful back-mounted energy pack, which, assisted by his powerful muscles, allows Winston to make gigantic leaps across large distances.
    • Barrier projector: A temporary shield generator, this creates a “bubble” of energy that temporarily blocks enemy fire until the bubble is shattered.

  • Name: Optimus Primal
  • Age: ???
  • Appearance:Well, that’s just prime!"
  • Universe: Beast Wars
  • Personality: Some 'bots are born great, and some 'bots have greatness thrust upon them. Optimus Primal is most definitely the latter: once a low-ranking ship’s captain aboard an insignificant deep-space expedition, Optimus was quickly forced to prove his mettle and then some when he was diverted off course to pursue a ship of Predacon criminals. More down-to-earth and willing to improvise than his legendary namesake, Primal is a quick thinker and is unafraid of using unorthodox tactics, noting that “sometimes, crazy works.”
  • 'Backstory: At the time of the Pax Cybertronia, years after the conclusion of the great Autobot-Decepticon war, Optimus and his small Maximal crew were part of a long-range colonization mission – until they were diverted to pursue a stolen ship, sending them crashing onto a distant, unexplored planet and forcing them to assume beast forms in order to survive on the lethal planet. A series of improbable adventures ensued, and over the course of the Beast Wars Optimus gained and lost numerous allies and enemies, finally triumphing over Megatron and returning home with his prisoner in tow.
  • Powers and skills:
    • Transformation: As a Cybertronian lifeform, Optimus Primal is capable of transforming between two distinct modes: in his case, a lowland gorilla. In this form he lacks access to his onboard weapons systems, but is resistant to anti-mechanoid weaponry such as electromagnetic pulses and can synthesize energon by consuming organic foodstuffs.
    • Jet pack: In his robot mode, Optimus is capable of powered flight via the boosters built into his back.
    • Onboard weaponry: Primal’s main weapons are the two dual-barelled blasters built into his forearms. For longer-ranged combat, he can deploy a pair of light missile launchers from his back.
  • Equipment:
    • Swords: A pair of swords for close combat weaponry.

Bond: Both of them have been reluctantly forced into leadership positions (you might even say that they’re the leaders of the bunch) and also have relationships with young speedsters who incorporate yellow into their colour schemes. There’s something else, too, I'm sure… something I can’t quite put my finger on….

Sweet!

Hmm, now that I think about it, as long as you’re willing, I would like them to have their respective power ups... perhaps a little like this?

  • Lux Sanctus Murakumo will give her access to the following abilities.
    • Turrets: Floating sentries that fire lasers. She can have a maximum of four out at a time, and can be used to ricochet lasers off of each other to confuse opponents.
    • Disadvantages: Murakumo will be a temporary transformation. Once it runs out, Noel will revert to her usual appearance and abilities, be briefly stunned, and suffer a temporary nerf to her speed, strength and stamina.
    • Learning Curve: At the beginning of the RP, Noel isn’t even sure how to use it. Perhaps it will only come to her in a time of great distress, or if she learns to accept herself for who she is.
    • Appearance: Maaaybe a little NSFW.

  • Dragon Install will grant the following abilities.
    • Enhanced Strength: Sol won’t be collapsing skyscrapers or mountains, not in this RP, but he’ll finally be able to lift that truck. Both hands, though.
    • Enhanced Speed: In this firm, Sol sprints like a cheetah and has the reaction time of one of them punching lobsters.
    • Enhanced Fire Magic: His magic is bolstered and has an extra kick to it, consistently doling out TNT level explosions.
    • Flight: Same deal as Murakumo. Sol will be able to hover, fly and float.
    • Disadvantages: Also like Murakumo, Dragon Install is temporary, and when it runs out, will cause Sol to be stunned, and he will also suffer a temporary nerf to strength, speed and stamina.
    • Appearance: Riding the fire.

So the main crux is I’m keeping them at a lower level as temporary power or ability boosts, and nothing too fancy (Dragon Install in canon is probably capable of roasting a country, and as you’ve read, Noel with Murakumo nearly destroyed the world), not to mention the nerfs the characters suffer once the transformations end, making these transformations desperation moves in essence.

Locoman and Full Moon: Both of your applications seem up to snuff, so you're both accepted!

As for [up]this, I'll honestly say that I don't see the problem in letting Noel keep her Murakumo as it is. Nothing about it screams 'overpowered' to me - the weapons aren't abusable, Sol already has a healing factor of his own, flying doesn't need a nerf - and the fact that she wouldn't know how to use it means she won't burst out the gate with her super-powered other side anytime soon. Unless the Murakumo gives her unstoppable power along with all that, what would be the problem? tongue

Of course the Dragon Install limitations would be alright.

[up] In canon, Noel’s main call to OP-dom is her ability to affect causality, but that requires a whole lot of other factors that won’t be present here.

Without all that, I intended to keep Murakumo as a form that grants her new abilities and not much else in terms of buffs. If you’re cool with it without its nerf, I’ll just remove the ‘Disadvantages’ section of the above.

Once I have your go ahead, I’ll add all that to the initial sheet. :)

Name: Darth Maul

Age: Roughly 50 standard years.

Appearance: You cannot destroy a Sith.

Universe: Star Wars.

Personality: He's an angry man, driven by a desire to end the last of the Jedis and specifically Obi-Wan Kenobi. He also has a drive to destroy his former master, Darth Sidious. He's more pragmatic than he was when he was younger, willing to cheat to win. He wishes to claim another apprentice ever since his brother died. Despite his anger, he tends to act calm, and his composure is icy cold. He has a disregard for most forms of life, but is willing to work with someone if they have similar goals or a goal he can sympathize with.

Backstory:  Maul, raised from birth as a warrior, was trained by Darth Sidious / Sheev Palpatine. He was raised to hate the Jedi and seek vengeance on them for their actions against the Sith Order. Unfortunately, in his second duel with Qui-Gon Jinn, after killing the Jedi, was bisected by his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, using his force powers, he survived, ending up on the trash planet Lotho Minor, where he made himself a lower body our of scrap metal, held together entirely by the force. There he lived until he was discovered by his brother, Savage Opress. Savage brought him back to his homeworld, Dathomir, where Mother Talzin restored his legs.

Darth Maul continued his quest to have revenge against Kenobi, until one day he was severely injured, along with his brother, in a crash. He was discovered by the Mandalorian Pre Vizsla of Death Watch, who gave him a new set of legs and gave Savage a new arm. From there Maul, Vizsla, and Savage became criminal lords, forming the Shadow Collective. From there they took Mandalore and Maul killed Pre Vizsla, taking command of Death Watch. However, Darth Sidious, his former master, seeing that Maul was a potential threat, killed Savage and took Maul prisoner and used him in a plot to kill Mother Talzin. From there, Maul eventually became stranded on Malachor, a planet with a Sith temple on it.

Powers & Skills:

-Force Powers - He can force push enemies, though he cannot use force lightning. He can also amplify regular movements with the force, allowing him to jump farther than common and sprint at unnatural speeds. For force push, it's about the equivalent of a sharp shove and works better against lighter foes. On an average person it's the equivalent of heavy shove.

-Combat training - He is heavily trained in many forms of combat, especially lightsaber combat.

Equipment:

-Lightsaber Cane - Looks like a cane, is actually a lightsaber. Watch out, do-gooders.

-Darksaber - an ancient Mandalorian lightsaber that is black.

Bond: He and his partner share two things - hatred and revenge. They both have an overwhelming hatred of certain things (Jedi and demons, respectively) and seek revenge (on the Jedi and on the demons, of course).

Name: Doom Slayer / Doom Marine

Age: ??? Not too young, there's that much.

Appearance: ...

Universe: DOOM (2016)

Personality: He's mute, for one. But he still has a way to express his never-ending hate for demons, and that way is violence. He tends to express his feelings through destruction of nearby objects or lack of destruction, depending entirely on how he feels. He hates useless expense of human life, and he hates working with demons in all forms. He has a soft spot for humanity as a whole and will do anything to protect it.

Backstory: It's sort of a mystery as to his actual history, but it is known that demons fear him and call him the Doom Slayer. He rampaged across Hell for an indeterminate amount of time, until he eventually got an entire temple collapses on top of him. There are a few theories as to his past - some believe him to be from the now demon-infested world Argent D'Nur, or at least has some connection to the world of Argent D'Nur. Some believe he betrayed the Night Sentinels in return for his son back, and then rampaged when his son came back as a demon. Some believe he is simply a man, blessed by the Seraphim. Who knows?

Eventually his stone sarcophagus was discovered by the UAC and Dr. Samuel Hayden, and eventually he was released when Olivia Pierce assisted the demons invade Mars.

Powers & Skills:

-Certified Badass - Oh yeah.

-Inhuman Strength - he's got enough strength to break down doors easily and engage in fisticuffs with an advantage. The Praetor suit helps too. Don't expect him to be lifting any trucks, though. Even with both hands.

-Argent Energy - He uses Argent energy to power himself up even more than usual. Specifically, it allows him to upgrade his health or Praetor suit's armor, making him more sturdy. It also can either drain a demon's life source or heal them, though Doomguy doesn't really utilize these options since regular guns are more effective.

Equipment:

-Praetor Suit - A suit supposedly made in Hell to fight demons. It's heavily runed, granting it more than just natural powers. Allows Doomguy to take unnatural amounts of firepower and other power. However, he still is vulnerable to most human weaponry (though supernatural enemies beware) and can only take so much damage before he crumbles. He's still (maybe?) human, after all. Particularly vulnerable to energy weaponry and fire weaponry, not to mention old-fashioned bullets.

Shotgun - It's a shotgun. Watch out. Not magical or anything, just a plain shotgun.

Pistol - an energy pistol. It can be charged up for a more powerful shot.

Chainsaw - a dedicated melee weapon that actually isn't very efficient against most things. Usually doesn't even work, as it needs fuel. Don't expect to see this on the field very often.

Transcender of Gender
#15: Dec 28th 2017 at 9:31:02 AM

Tried my best to convert video game mechanics to an RP format; let me know if any of it needs further tweaking or removal.

  • Name: Tetra
  • Age: Early teens
  • Appearance: Cel-shade style not included.
  • Universe: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (pre-game), weaponry taken from Hyrule Warriors
  • Personality: Having had to commandeer a pirate crew at a young age, Tetra has created a veneer of cheek and bossiness. She doesn't suffer fools gladly (in part because she runs a ship full of them) and has little respect for those who rush in to situations without a plan. However, she likes to put on that she's colder than she really is. It doesn't take much digging to find the caring, good-hearted soul that rests beneath her pert demeanour.
  • Backstory: Tetra was born on one of the many small islands that populate the Great Sea's endless expanse. Her mother passed away when she was just a child, leaving her an orphan. Deciding to follow in her mother's footsteps, Tetra took command of her mother's ship and crew of pirates, earning their respect despite her young age. Since then Tetra and her crew have become the scourge of the Great Sea, plundering and looting as pirates do. Recently they've been on the trail of a great treasure that's said to rest in the depths of the ocean.
Unbeknownst to her, Tetra is actually a descendent of the Hyrulean Royal Family, their legacy lost when Hyrule was flooded and became the Great Sea. As she is no longer in her own world, this little fact will likely continue to remain a secret.
  • Powers & Skills:
    • Peak physiology: Tetra is physically active, and thus she keeps herself fit and healthy. She's as strong and nimble as a young teen girl can be- which is nothing outrageous, but her quick feet and small size are still something to watch out for.
    • Seafarer: Tetra is the captain of a large pirate vessel, and knows all about its operation. Not only does this grant her knowledge about boats, cannons, and catapults- though anything beyond a medieval level is likely to stump her- but it also bestows her with leadership qualities beyond her age.
  • Equipment:
    • Cutlass: A short, curved sword. Doesn't have any special abilities, but a sword is still a sword. Used in conjunction with her other weapon...
    • Magical Flintlock: A flintlock pistol that fires magically-infused bullets made of water. The pistol has infinite ammo, and has minor cooldown if five shots are fired in succession. By using more magic, the flintlock is capable of two types of special bullets, each with their own cooldown:
      • Slowdown: The bullet is fired at the ground and dense water is spread out in a 10x10 feet area. Any sort of contact with the water will cause a person's movements to slow for a few seconds. The water will dissolve after ten seconds of being on the ground.
      • Whirlpool: The bullet is fired and erupts into a small sphere of water that drags in any nearby people or objects. The pull is not particularly strong- an adult of above-average strength would be able to break free, and anything that's rooted will be able to hold its ground. The water will evaporate after ten seconds.
    • Pirate's Charm: A set of two pendants made out of light blue crystal. The pendants have a two-way magical connection, allowing a person in possession of one to see, hear, and speak through the other pendant (and vice versa), regardless of how far away it is.
    • Heirloom Necklace: Bequeathed to Tetra by her late mother, this V-shaped golden jewellery is actually a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom, a sacred relic of great magical power. It's only a piece, however, and Tetra is unaware of its true power, but anyone more magically-inclined might pick up, and be able to harness, the moderate magic residing within it.
  • Other:
    • Tetra's status as 'secretly Princess Zelda' might be brought up, but I'm not planning for her to ever transform into Zelda.
    • Leitmotif: Pirates

  • Name: Archie
  • Age: Late-30's
  • Appearance: Rocking the latest in wetsuit couture.
  • Universe: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (post-game)
  • Personality: On the surface, Archie is a jolly, boisterous, and respectful man. His love for battle is eclipsed only by his love for nature and his Pokémon, and its his passion for those that drive his underlings to be so fiercely loyal to him. He never steps down from a challenge, and holds in high regard those who can match his power and enthusiasm.
However, under his cheer, Archie is deeply misanthropic, blaming humanity for the damage they've done to the ocean and to the world at large. His hatred of humanity and love for the sea caused him to nearly destroy the world while attempting to revert it back to its unspoiled roots. This made him realise how dangerous his extremism is, and since then he's been working on being more accepting of humanity, while also not divulging in black-and-white thinking.
  • Backstory: Since he was young, Archie has had a passion for Pokémon and the world that they co-inhabit. As he grew older, he started to become disillusioned with his fellow man, holding them responsible for the degradation of nature and, in particular, the ocean. Thus came about the formation of Team Aqua, a pirate-themed gang intent on restoring the world back to its previous, untainted state.
Once his team had been formed, Archie went about enacting his plan to change the world. He stole the Blue Orb, an artefact said to control the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre, then made his way down to the ocean cavern where Kyogre rested. However, he was unable to control Kyogre like he'd planned, and instead the beast unleashed a torrent that threatened to drown the entire world. The intervention of a young Pokémon Trainer prevented the world's destruction, and Kyogre was calmed once more.
Realising the error of his ways, Archie began the process of reinventing Team Aqua, turning them into a force of genuine good that would help the environment in more benign ways than trying to control a god.
  • Powers & Skills:
    • Basic Engineering/Technological Understanding: Archie can pilot a submarine, operate machinery (e.g. a machine that converted the power of a meteor into other forms of energy), and owns a base that utilises, amongst other little doo-dads, teleportation technology. While not a genius by any means, he can generally figure out how to work his way around tech that isn't too complex.
    • Pokémon, I Choose You!: Archie is a Pokémon Trainer, and has caught three Pokémon that will assist him in battle. He typically only uses one at a time, so that his concentration isn't spread too thinly. Each Pokémon can attack normally, but also come equipped with four special moves.
      • Mightyena: A three-foot Dark-type canine. A little stronger than it is durable or fast. Highly resistant to mental/psychic attacks, inexplicably afraid of bugs. Moves: Take Down (tackles an opponent, causing some recoil damage), Taunt (aggravates an opponent, encouraging them to fight recklessly), Scary Face (terrifies an opponent, causing them to hesitate for a few seconds), Embargo (distracts the opponent from using whatever item they hold for a short amount of time).
      • Crobat: A six-foot, four-winged Poison/Flying-type bat. Very fast, not very durable. Resistant to poison, difficult to hit on account of the flying, but weak to mental/psychic attacks and electricity. Moves: Poison Fang (attacks with fangs, has a chance to poison, which will deplete an opponent's health over a span of three minutes until it fades away), Acrobatics (strikes the opponent from the air), Mean Look (discourages the opponent from attempting to escape), Haze (disperses a light mist, making it more difficult to see).
      • Sharpedo: Archie's closest companion, a six-foot Water/Dark-type shark. Capable of hovering slightly off the ground while on land. Hits hard and fast, but its defense are pretty thin. Highly resistant to fire and mental/psychic attacks, not so much against electricity. Moves: Scary Face (see Mightyena), Poison Fang (see Crobat), Slash (attacks with fangs, has a higher chance of hitting a weak point and causing slightly more damage), Crunch (munches with fangs, has a chance to break armour and make an opponent more vulnerable to further attacks).
      • By using a Key Stone and Sharpedonite in tandem, Sharpedo can briefly evolve into Mega Sharpedo, with enhanced strength, durability, and speed. He will then devolve back into regular Sharpedo once the battle is over. Because this takes a lot of energy out of both Sharpedo and Archie, they require a period of rest before they're capable of using it again.
  • Equipment:
    • Poké Balls: Spherical capsules that can convert Pokémon into energy and store them, making it easier to travel with multiple Pokémon. Normally they're big enough to fit in the palm of a hand, but they can be shrunk down for even easier transportation. Archie is in possession of six, three of which contain Pokémon.
    • Key Stone & Sharpedonite: Two stones containing mysterious energy that work in conjunction to allow a Pokémon to Mega Evolve. Archie's Key Stone is embedded in his anchor necklace, while his Sharpedo holds onto the Sharpedonite.
  • Other:

  • Bond: Scoundrels of the sea, and captains of a crew that aren't too bright but will follow their leaders to their grave. Whilst both are good at heart, Tetra's upbringing and Archie's fanaticism has led them both to commit less than savoury acts. Archie once desired to flood the world, which is a reality that Tetra has had to live with.

A question—is the RP going to favor characters that are particularly good at fighting, or that have cool superpowers? Or can a more mundane character work just as well?

@Kepler-7: I'm not against either character, but I feel like some tweaks need to happen. For one thing, Darth Maul's force powers should probably have some limits on them. The ability to kill someone with little resistance via the Force Choke is what I'm mostly worried about - the Push isn't as much of a problem but I'd like some specifics on it (such as how hard/far he can push, say, the average person).

The powers for Doom Guy definitely need changes, too. Such as clarification on what 'Argent Energy' does for him, exactly, and dialing back both his strength and the protection his suit gives him. As it is now, there's no real gauge as to what would stop him - and while that is his thing, being an unkillable demon-muncher, it'd be best to give him a few limits or drawbacks. Also, out of curiosity, why did you leave out any guns he'd have?

@whizzerd: Everything looks fine here, though I will say that I'm not sure how well the status-effect moves for Archie's Pokemon would translate, particularly things like Scary Look, Embargo, and Mean Look. But other than that, Archie and Tetra are accepted!

For Koro[up] mundane characters are definitely allowed. Just make sure they don't get on anyone's bad side tongue

Yeah, I was a little iffy with the status moves, especially given how much of them Mightyena has. Would it be alright if I left them how they are, and if they end up being too awkward to work with then I could change them later with the justification that his Pokémon have "levelled up" (non-video game explanation: he's trained them to do new tricks)? It'd still be moves they learn naturally, and any changes would be run by you first, of course.

Sure. To my knowledge, in the anime, the Pokemon just end up learning new moves on their own? It wouldn't be a bad idea to try to model them after how Pokemon work in the anime, in general, since that's already a non-videogame setting (though I won't tell you what to do, of course.)

I'm sorry if the signups look a bit sloppy; writing two of these things at once is a little tiring. But here they are!

Name: Riki

Age: 40 (believe it or not)

Appearance: Meet this year's legendary Heropon!

Universe: Xenoblade Chronicles

Personality: Riki acts the way you'd expect from a small, furry, egg-shaped thing like him. He speaks and acts like a child, always positive and full with energy. While this attitude can be relaxing to some people, others consider it annoying and dislike him for it; not that he ever notices. He likes to ramble about how great and heroic he is, and even though his heart is in the right place, he likely won't stop until someone recognizes his “greatness”. That said, he's not as immature as you'd expect. Being the father of 11 children helps you learn some things about the world, and he's always willing to share some advice with those who need it.

Backstory: There's not much to know about Riki. He was just a regular Nopon living in his hometown, Makna Forest, with a wife and eleven children, until his family's massive appetites caused him to owe a massive debt to the village chieftain. Fortunately for him, the chieftain decided to dub him as this year's Heropon, and he could repay his debt by slaying a monster called the Dinobeast Telethia. While this would prove impossible for a single Nopon, fortunately for him (again), Shulk and his friends arrive in Makna Forest while on their journey and somehow get roped into helping Riki defeat the Telethia. Once they do, Riki comes home and takes all the credit for destroying the beast, to the group's chagrin. However, the chieftain sends him off with the heroes, claiming he was prophesied to do so. Riki calls him out on his bullshit, saying he just wants to get rid of him, but he goes anyway.

Powers & Abilities:

  • Flight: Well, more like a hover, really, using the ears/arms on his head.
  • Arts, a special type of ability that can have various effects. They need to be charged before use, and some Arts take longer to charge. note
    • Yoink!: Riki steals something from an enemy. That something could be an item or a attribute of that enemy, like their health, strength, or agility.
    • Lurgy: Riki breathes a toxic gas in a fan shape in front of him, poisoning anybody unlucky enough to breathe it in.
    • Roly-Poly: Riki tackles the enemy to the ground, toppling them over.
    • Behave: Riki shakes his weapon around, and the action is so calming it puts the target in a trance, effectively paralyzing them.
    • You Can Do It: Encouraging words are spoken, healing all allies in front of Riki, along with Riki himself.
    • Freezinate: Riki launches a chunk of ice at an enemy, chilling them to the bone.
    • Bedtime: Riki puts all enemies in a small radius (and himself) to sleep for a few seconds.
    • Burninate: Riki spins in a circle while breathing fire. Inflicts burns.
    • Riki is Angry: An aura-based Art that counters (most) damage inflicted onto him for a few seconds, although he still takes the damage regardless.

Equipment:

  • The Hunter Biter, pictured above. Riki’s favorite weapon. It took him three days to make it.

Other: His theme, which everyone should listen to at least once in their life.

Name: Odin Dark(!) It's actually Owain, but shhh

Age: Adult-ish

Appearance: A warrior chosen by the darkness!

Universe: Fire Emblem Fates

Personality: Odin is...quirky, to say the least. He claims to be a hero chosen by the darkness to destroy evil, and he makes sure everybody knows it. His persona is loud, confident, and full of energy. He's always brimming with excitement, but watch out; he claims that he is always in danger of losing control of his tremendous power.

...Buuuuut actually, Odin isn't really like that. Yes, he prefers to act in his warrior persona when he can, but when the moment calls for it, he can simmer down and be surprisingly mature. Although no one would try it after witnessing Odin’s initial antics, he is an excellent confidant and will always be there for a friend in need.

Backstory: Nobody in Nohr knows where Odin came from. He just showed up out of nowhere, and strangely, King Garon decided to enlist him as Prince Leo’s retainer. Leo thought him a nuisance and purposely sent him on dangerous and impossible errands just to get rid of him, but somehow, he managed to return every time, completely unharmed. Eventually, Leo realized Odin’s potential and accepted him as his royal retainer. In reality, Owain is the son of princess Lissa from the country of Ylisse, who was sent to Nohr by the dragon god Anankos to protect the main character.

Powers & Skills: Odin is a dark mage, which means he’s proficient in the use of magical tomes and scrolls, which he utilizes in battle. Other than that, he's a pretty average guy.

Equipment:

  • Thunder: A basic lightning spell. Strong, but not very accurate.
  • Nosferatu: A dark magic spell that saps the target of their health and heals Odin in return.
  • Horse Spirit: A scroll that summons the spirit of a horse in battle. While weak, it does boost his resistance to attacks.

Other: Odin as Owain is pretty good with swords, but his class won't allow him to use them. Likewise, he could wield swords if he wanted to, but couldn't use any spells. The only way he could do both is if he had a horse.

Bond: Both characters are talkative and boisterous, with Riki’s bouts of overconfidence and Odin’s love for theatrics. Their affinity for keeping up their heroic facades may leave others unimpressed, but deep down, Riki and Odin are genuinely good people whose respective circumstances leave them with insight that few others can say they have.

@Truth Hurts 22

Made some changes. I just got rid of Maul's force choke, as I couldn't really find a way to dial it down that made sense. As for Doomguy, I made him less agile than usual and made him have a smaller arsenal than usual. I also specified some of what Argent Energy does (bulkify the Praetor and Doomguy), toned down his super strength, and made it so his armor has a weakness to fire, energy, and plain old bullets.

  • Name: Komachi Onozuka
  • Age: "20s" (obviously she's older than that, blah blah)
  • Appearance: This lady. Pretty tall, well-defined in body type.
  • Universe: Touhou Project
  • Personality: Pretty easy going and very laid back. She's dutiful when it comes time to actually work, but more often than not she's a career slacker who can find an excuse to do anything besides her job, even if it's harder. Her favorite past time is playing counselor to dead people, listening to their life stories if they are willing to part with them and offering her own advice on their problems. Considering her line of work, she's learned to take very few things seriously and simply take life as it happens. Getting kidnapped by some omnipotent deity is probably going to be less of a worry than how she's going to explain her absence to her employer. When she gets chatty she has a tendency to bring up very dark conversation topics like death and suicide, but that's just because that's what she's used to dealing with 24/7. The only things that can get her truly angry are those who try to abuse or circumvent the natural cycle of life and death, and when she doesn't get paid on time.
  • Backstory: Komachi is a Shinigami, which isn't like that one guy with the bug eyes and the apples. No, Shinigami in Touhou function more like the ferryman Charon. She's the one responsible for ferrying the departed souls of all that die in Gensokyo to their final judgement, across the Sanzu River. Aside from that one time she got involved in an incident involving a bunch of flowers, or that time she beat up someone with peaches on her hat, her excessively long life has been peaceful.
  • Powers & Skills:
    • Distance Manipulation: Komachi can change the distance between two set points on a line within 300 feet of herself. If she was standing at one end of a football field and needed to make a touchdown, for instance, she could essentially shrink the space between herself and the other point, making it five yards long or five hundred yards. She needs to have either line of sight or an exact knowledge of what she's changing, she can't just say "I'm not feeling up to it" and bring the hidden macguffin two feet away from her.
    • Flight: Touhous can fly. Komachi is a Touhou. She can just will herself to float in the air and stuff.
    • strong dudes: As Komachi is not human and is actually an immortal death spirit, she can do stuff. She's pretty strong and durable, most of all! For strength, let's put it at "can launch people into the air a few feet if she can smack them hard enough" and durability as "extremely resistant to pain but most bullets would probably hurt".
    • Can Talk to Ghosts: She can talk to ghosts. Any kind, even the ones that don't usually speak and/or are incapable of it.
  • Equipment:
    • A Boat: It's a boat. Like, a wooden, two person boat that she can pull out of nowhere. It's not especially memorable, but Komachi can cruise along on the ground as easily as she can the water because magic.
    • Reaper Scythe: It's a scythe. Even if she knows how to use one of the most unwieldy weapons in the world for combat, it's not special or anything. Komachi only carries it because people kind of expect those in her position to have one.
    • Lods of Emone: Komachi can bring forth incredible amounts of coinage from hammerspace. Her job requires her to take tolls from people, and more importantly she doesn't really have anything to spend it on. Since she's also paid on top of that, she has quite the collection of Japanese coinage from all periods of history. She's gotten quite skilled at throwing them, considering she doesn't have any better use and nothing better to do than to throw coins at rocks when she's on duty, but they're not the most effective weapon.
  • Other: Speaks in a baritone voice.

  • Name: Okuyasu Nijimura
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: This dude. He's tall and pretty dang buff for the average high-school punk.
  • Universe: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Part 4: Diyamondo wa Kudakenai
  • Personality: A very...animated individual. Okuyasu never really under-reacts to anything, he'll go from zero to eighty in a flash when he gets riled up, and that's incredibly easy. More than anything Okuyasu has little impulse control and a violent temper, though at least he's well natured to a point. Even if his plans were originally pretty bad, he was fully aware of how bad they were and would quickly regret them. Okuyasu isn't intelligent by any means, and he's fully aware of this and admits to it. He's lacking in the fields of book smarts, common sense and simple tactics, and he outright voices his dislike for thinking too hard on a few occasions. He's not great at doing anything more than blindly attacking, but by the end of this story he's at least improving with his tactics.
  • Backstory: Growing up in a small town in Japan named Morioh, Okuyasu, his brother, and his dad all led very confusing lives. After their dad got turned into a benign midget-sized immortal flesh abomination due to the death of a vampire in Egypt, both he and his brother Keicho tried to find any means possible to kill their dad. This would eventually include finding an ancient meteoric-iron arrow which either instantly killed people or granted them floating spirit people powers. Utilizing this gave Okuyasu a weird guy with a hand, and Keicho a bunch of tiny dudes with guns. After getting hit in the face by a flower pot, Okuyasu realized that this kind of conduct was immoral and briefly worked against his brother's machinations alongside a man with very shitty hair and another midget. However, Keicho died like seconds afterwards due to the sudden appearance of an electric bird monster controlled by the town's wannabe rock idol that stole their arrow. After that Okuyasu helped his shitty-hair friend Josuke do many things, like scamming the lottery system, getting his midget friend laid, and visiting Italian restaurants, before their lives returned to a peaceful existence when they killed David Bowie.
  • Powers & Skills:
    • THE HAND: A projection of his own willpower made into a solid form; that is, a magical man who floats behind him and punches things. The Hand is an extension of himself, and has no personality of its own. Okuyasu is capable of calling it into existence at any time, though loudly saying the name of this manifestation is generally considered to be a proper flourish. The Hand has its own abilities.
      • Erasure: The Hand's right hand is able to completely erase whatever it passes over. Whatever happens to matter lost in the attack is never explained, and Okuyasu himself admits he has no idea. This leaves large, perfectly clean swathes missing, as if the world was ice cream and someone took a very large scoop to it. This includes physical space, in that whatever area The Hand's hand passes over ceases to exist, effectively removing that distance from the world. In this way he is able to move himself closer and drag objects closer to him by repeatedly swiping the air. Loose objects that are dragged by this ability tend to reposition themselves energetically; that is, they are flung towards Okuyasu. Okuyasu is not very good at using this ability. For the time being, let's say that this ability won't work on any living thing.
      • Stando Powah: The Hand is noticeably stronger, durable and faster than a human being. To cut the point short let's make it "strong enough to punch through concrete" strong, "can withstand bullets" durable and "faster than any human but slower than any dedicated speedy person" fast.
      • Reflection: Any damage inflicted on The Hand is mirrored in Okuyasu's body. Stab The Hand's hand, the hand of Okuyasu deals its final hand. Break Okuyasu's hand, and The Hand's hand hands in the handtowel. Hand. As The Hand is considerably more durable than dumb ol' Okuyasu this isn't a one-to-one translation, Okuyasu wouldn't break his hand if The Hand started using his hands to punch down a wall. In addition, Okuyasu's eyes can see whatever The Hand sees.
  • Equipment: Nothing of real note. He has one of those bulky late 90s cellphones with terrible reception on his person, along with some spare change.

  • Bond: Both Okuyasu and Komachi have powers that can change distances. Also, they both got a kind of "cold hard ca$h" motif going on too, though Komachi's is a bit understated.

[up] Everything's in order here, and I can't think of any kind of joke to say. Komachi & Okuyasu are accepted.

Legal double-post to tell everyone that I made the Discussion thread! See it in all its glory here.

Two other things: first, as mentioned in the discussion, I made a group chat in Skype for the roleplay. If you're wanting to join it, you can PM me with your Skype name (since my own is like way too common to find) and I'll add you in.

The second is that there's a tentative start for this roleplay sometime next week, towards the weekend. Just enough time past the New Year so people will be able to post, I'm hoping.
