I think my post ended that back and forth.
Anyway, I read the rest of the link posted a few pages ago. I found what Claremont here says to be interesting.
"As the cocreator of the source material, and as a colleague, I felt that Simon did the very best work possible within a whole bunch of contexts that were totally out of his control," Claremont said. "It was a good film. It was way better than 'X-Men: The Last Stand.'"
Many pages ago I talked about how much of a mess the production was rumored to be and Claremont apparently confirms it. I kinda feel bad for Kinberg.

Well that already describes a good deal of the franchise as is though.
Just want to say that Chris Claremont’s interpretation of Dark Phoenix Jean wasn’t possessed or anything.

Isn't that kind of what X-Men is when you get down to it? An endless argument between Xavier and Magneto that doesn't really go anywhere, but often becomes cinematic and cosmic in scale?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Other sources and Kevin Feige suggest that they are not doing doing anything with the X-Men for a long time.
Unless it's to potentially have the Avengers fight off the Brood in Wakanda.◊
(It's concept art for one of the upcoming Marvel attractions at Disneyland revealed at D23. It's almost a good thing Fox squandered the cosmic side of X-Men. Because otherwise we probably wouldn't have this.)

I loved the Brood! It was Marvel's version of Alien(s)! So creepy and freaky, I loved them and it would be perfect cosmic horror fodder for the MCU.
To think that James Cameron was going to direct a X-Men movie.

The MCU is probably not going to be rebooting any direct X-Men or Fantastic Four properties anytime soon, but are reveling in being able to use various characters associated with them. My guess would probably be doing what they've already been doing, introduce a few characters in smaller roles as a lead in to solo/ensemble films.
Hope they get Jessica Chastain as Lilandra after she was robbed of the role.
Fastbender as Magneto :v
Mileena MadnessThat’s kind of irrelevant.

Here:
I'm curious how this will measure up on the mental illness front once Moon Knight premiers.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireConsidering its Marvel, no question it will be superior.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hell, Marvel already did a better character with mental illness in Iron Fist no less — Mary Walker (aka Typhoid Mary) was a great and pretty accurate look at someone with Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Hmm. I do wanna see Iron Fist The 2nd but I know I'll have to get through the first season first, and uh...yeah.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)It's not that bad. The first half is boring. That's really it.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireIron Fist Season 1 suffers from a lack of direction and a lack of preparation. The show spins it's wheels until the back half and there aren't even any decent fight scenes. The back half, though, is pretty good.
Iron Fist Season 2 is goddamn awesome and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. It manages to be a huge leap in quality, excellent fight scenes, and the writers knew exactly what they wanted to do and where they wanted to go. Which is to make Colleen Wing the Iron Fist. Oh and we got Mary Walker, one of the most accurate depictions of DID in television and proof that Alice Eve is a great actress and not just eye candy.
Eh, while she is an improvement from the comic version, “most accurate” is really overstating things.
I mean, that article is complaining that they explained her DID clumsily, not that it wasn't accurate. And, in fact, most of that article is explaining how her comic book counterpart was problematic and sexist, something the show's version completely avoided.
I expect Moon Knight to have a more accurate and nuanced version of DID, since it's the main character who has it (at least, I hope so), instead of a secondary character.

The article does criticize the accuracy, such as that folks with DID are less likely to develop violent alters from trauma. They're more likely to develop alters who compartmentalize the traumatic memories away from their other personalities, rather than the fiction stereotype of the dangerous Jekyl.
