The Tenchu games were never particularly deep in their steath mechanics, but the combat - especially in the mandatory boss fights - was pretty much always awful. So mixing the simple but fun Tenchu stealth with Souls combat sounds like a wise decision to me.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.I remember Tenchu's combat being exhilarating, but that WAS in 1998.
Bleye knows Sabers. What we know of the story so far as told by VaatiVidya.
Evil cult, I'm in.

Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleCan't wait to see it online.
Watch SymphogearAnd here we go. Yup, that's absolutely Tenchu Souls.
Just gameplay of the area available in Gamescom:
Nioh Dark Souls Assasins Creed Spiderman is looking pretty dope :)
Throw in a little Bionic Commando.
Bleye knows Sabers.Gonna be a feast.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Did someone say BIONIC! AAAAAARRRM!

A trailer from TGS 2018 with some new gameplay and a few bosses:
The more I see, the more it looks like FROM Software turning at Team Ninja saying "You made your point with Nioh, now let us show ya what it feels like to 'cut someone down'*."
- ) PR bollocks for the ill-fated Ninja Gaiden 3.
Looks like Tenchu to me. They've simply gained experience during the Soulsborne times, to rebuild it from the ground up.
With Samurai Spirits, Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro, there does seem to be a general revival of the samurai era.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleOnimusha Remaster and Nioh 2, as well
Watch SymphogearThey only missed the Samurai Jack revival by a year :v
Well, two, by the time most of them come out.
Onimusha 3 would have been a perfect game to re-release around Samurai Jack Season 5. Given it's about a Samurai warrior being flung through a portal in time, while trying to defeat the master of darkness.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...I'm still angry they didn't get Jean Reno to voice the english version of his character.
Or at least a guy with a french accent.
Bleye knows Sabers.Apparently, that was one of the stipulations for his likeness. They couldn't get him to voice himself in English.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...That's... An interesting bit of trivia. I thought they where just too cheap to spring for a few extra recording sessions.
Now I'm imagining Jacques going through Dark Souls...
Bleye knows Sabers. And here we have finally the entire Sekiro demo, with everything it has to offer, from the boss to the mysterious secret headless enemy mentioned in many previews.
The giant snake reminds me of the one from the Otogi series. I want the Crimson King as a bonus boss :D The game sort of reminds me of Otogi's aesthetic. People acting like From doesn't do colorful games never played those games obviously.
Also you KNOW the moonlight sword is going to be in this game.

Now we know what the second sword is for.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleOtogi was a lot more surreal than this, but there's definitely some of the same DNA in there in regards to the darker elements.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.
Interesting. Sad about no character customization.
I'm thinking dying will be a risk/reward thing maybe? Return to the last checkpoint with all your EXP and loot, or resurrect to take out that boss's last bit of health. Die after resurrecting though and lose a bunch more progress.
