Bali is perhaps best known as a holiday island, but it also features a few volcanoes.
Recently, Agung volcano (last active in 1963 with thousands of fatalities) has shown signs of life in form of steam eruptions and ash clouds. There are concerns that a major eruption is imminent and thus about 100,000 people have been asked to evacuate. A number of tourists have been trapped on the island as ash falls have shut down airports.
