Contract time!

"Can't say this is surprising," she muttered to herself as she checked the contract and noticed the clause about the rivalry between herself and... Elena, it seems. "From a storytelling standpoint, a rivalry between an angel and a demon makes sense. Still wish I could've made suggestions, though..."

She couldn't help but overhear one of the other people here mention that she reminded her of her mother, and couldn't help but feel... kind of weirded out at the though. "No, it's fine," she responded. "We don't need to do such a dynamic if you don't want to. I'm alright with what I have so far..."

Meeting Room

Uwaaaaah...she sound so maaaaaaaad

Hu-boy...

-Back to blue-

"You know, as much as I'd laugh to see a fight break out right now, can we just finish this meeting first and not worry about breaking the expensive office space? Huh?!" Momo pants, blinks, then goes beet red, "And that was out loud...thanks a lot Light... the point still stands though"

To note, the accent is almost nonexistant out of Yellow.

And the air around her has dropped drastically. Like, a glass of water freezing, drastic.

Meeting Room

Gritting her teeth, Elena walked over to Max and sat next to him.

"Enough, you're not a child. What was that pettiness? One more and I'll ask you to leave."

The O'Neils didn't seem much bothered by this, probably because they were used to Gifted shenanigans.

Karen, however, did frown at Ashley's words. "Hero TV has a very strict non lethal policy. Under no circumstances is a hero allowed to take a life. On first offense, you will not only be terminated from the job, but arrested. You are not the police, you are not military, you have no right to kill."

Elena immediately commented. "We are superheroes, inspirations. We are not vigilantes, we work within the law. The public trusts us, and we don't endanger that trust by killing willy-nilly. That's abhorent. As for property damage...sometimes it's unavoidable, but at least try to keep it at the minimum."

"We pay for everything, after all..." Scott said with a slight smile.

He then looked at Dani. "Well, we're still open to suggestions, so if you have any ideas, please speak up."

"Don't give me that crap. You started this by running your mouth and stepping out of line. You want an apology, you're not friggin' getting it unless you suck it up and apologize for calling me out. I'm fine if you're gonna say crap about how I talk, but if you're gonna make a fuckin' spectacle out of it in front of everyone, you're asking to get floored." Max sharply retorted, keeping up the sharp and irritated glare, red eyes blazing.

...If Max knew what he was potentially getting himself into by 'synchronizing' with Alicia and getting an idea of what he'd be up against...he didn't seem worried in the slightest. Although the aggravated young man did stop himself from cracking his knuckles as Denki spoke up.

"Hrm...you don't need to have your voice several decia...uh...decibels louder than it needed to be to get the freakin' point across." He grumbled at Denki, clearly stumbling over that big/'fancy' sounding word and looking a little annoyed about it.

And Elena definitely wasn't helping matters as he gave another irritated huff. "Tch...I could've done much worse, she's gettin' off easy. I'm sure you wouldn't be actin' like this if she was talkin' trash about you."

"It might be nice to have us do some outreach work, after all heroes are supposed to be examples of what all people should be. Even if we don't do it as a full feature we could release some mini episodes on the web to spread awareness for some of the low income areas. Plus seeing as crime in those areas is pretty high but relatively low risk we could do some good by just being in the area." he signed the contract, going from each box one after another. He knew the contract by heart already, and even through some bits and pieces didn't fit him perfectly there was nothing to be done.

Hearing the argument break out Martin pursed his lips and thought about how to respond. "Keeping scores, revenge, anger like that is not useful here. You hurt someones feelings, start a fight and then never get to see the t.v. unless you go rogue. We all have ideals or otherwise that bring us here, but none of those matter if you don't have a platform to speak with. Be a hero, just walk away okay?"

Meeting Room

Looking over the contract, and hearing that they were open to suggestions regarding partnerships and rivalries and such, Jules then got an idea.

"Hey, Dani, what if you and I did some kind of neat dynamic when we're on stage, like, I dunno, maybe you and I acting as fierce rivals or something? I know it's not quite the same as some kind of angel and devil rivalry, but I think it could be interesting and kinda fun...", the blonde girl suggested. "I mean, I try to go for a classic cape-style personality as Miss Machina and all."

Not quiiite following the argument going on between multiple parties, Felicity opted to just concentrate on reading through the contract, initialing here, signing there, dates and other information where necessary. Remembering the mentioned pairing with Crackdown, Fluffy's hand shot up as she looked over to the O'Neils. "When you say 'putting Fluffy with Crackdown', is that rivalry or good cop bad cop partnership? Oh, or odd couple romantic storyline~?" She added a bit of tease to her voice, before pondering character relationships some more. "Hmm, what would be good for Fluff N Stuff's merchandising...?"

Beat.

"Oh, Fluffy just remembered! Got gifts for everyone, courtesy of the plushie emporium~" Fluffy took off her sheep shaped backpack and from it produced some small, three inch plush versions of all present, including the O'Neils. "Fluffy looked at who'd be in attendance and thought these would be a cute idea~" She proceeded to hand them out one by one, giving Elena a second - a plush businessman. "Ehe, sorry, could you give it to your dad when you see him? Fluffy thought he'd be here..."

Meeting

Not really caring for the arguments going on, Neil went over to a wall and leaned against it, getting lost in his own thoughts. Man... The shit is nuts.

He pulled out a small bag of peanut M&Ms (a favorite since even before he ended up on the streets), and started munching on them casually.

Like seriously, all this discordant bullcrap is from a meeting about just starting out. Whats goin to go on whats all of us actually go out on the streets? Man... This is gonna be such a pain. If it wasn't for going to prison and making it up to the old man, I would have jumped down a floor 5 minutes ago.

"Yo, anyone got some popcorn? Cuz it looks like this show is going to be goin on for a while." Neil quipped as he popped another M&M into his mouth.

Meeting Room A-12, Miraculous Media Main Office, August 25, 2115, 7:45 AM and counting

Bayard waved Bas' apology off. "No sweat, big man. This is off-the-rack stuff. Nothing to worry about. I just liked how it looked. Just take better care next time." At the Mc Neils' prompting, he took his seat and pulled out his Quill. While not a legal eagle by any means, some training in that direction had been helpfully provided by Lamplight. Fluffy's gift sat before him as he pored over the lines.

Over the argument, sat back on his chair. "Personally, I have no complaints with the contract itself. Just to be clear, this clause for support is optional, right? I have my own retainers with Lamplight."

Meeting room

After a moment or two spent pondering the pros and cons of being partnered up with someone he barely knew, Danny simply shrugged and said "Yeah, sure. Works for me."

While he didn't outright say it, Danny was pretty content with the fact that he wasn't being forced to wander around growling about how he 'worked alone' and whatnot.

Meeting

Ann stared at the plushie of herself in werepanther form with her Hero costume on, an appearance which she had made certain that precious few had seen. She glared in suspicion at it, at Fluffy and back to the plushie before taking out a strip of cloth and tying it around the plushie to make it into a simple necklace.

"You're actually quite wrong about that, Max." Ann said in reply to his grumble. "For all her faults Princess Light-Bright is a model of self-control and heroic stiff-backedness." She explained, subtly trying to steal and M&M from Neil as she did.

Ash

"Strict non-killing policy", "we're not vigilantes", "we're heroes". Oh right, Ash forgot. She was on live TV now. Killing is bad for business. "If you pay for everything, I would like to request something to limit my power with." Ash smiled humorlessly. "Something which I can remove only under your explicit permission and, if the system determines it, in case of my life being directly threatened."

"If I'm a product already, I might as well get a tag." He made a sound that was meant to be a laugh, but only transitioned into a hacking cough. With that out of the way, Ash finished reading the rest of the contract. Standard stuff. Max continued to be a douchebag. "Sit down first, you asshole. The thick black lady isn't mean to you for you to to be yapping at her like that."

And then he was given a plushie. It was... nice. Soft. Almost a look-a-like, as far as plushies were concerned. "Oh... um, thanks. I'm not... I don't have anywhere to keep it though." And I fear burning it by accident, Ashley thought, but did not say out loud before handing the Ash-plushie back to Fluffy. "...can you safekeep it for me? Once I have that limiter on, I can get it back from you."

Meeting Room

Elena gave Max the coldest, most withering glare she could.

"Please, try not to be petulant. Her words weren't even that bad, and if it was me, I would have ignored them like an adult."

She glanced at Ann. "Thanks for the compliment, Kitty." She deadpanned.

Elena then turned to look at Ash and nodded. "If you'd like a limiter, we can request one and handle the paperwork besides. We'd need to get a consent form from you, though, but if you really want one, there's no problem. My younger sister wears one every day."

Meanwhile, Karen nodded at Felicity and Daniel giving their consent. "Allright, that's settled. Honestly, the nature of the relationship is up to you. You can be a love team if you want~." the retired heroine let out a small giggle.

She looked at Ann. "Well, that kind of spontaneous romance with a bystander or a villain is...exciting! Brilliant! I love it." She grinned. "Honestly, I'm surprised no one suggested it for A-League."

Adressing Bay now, she nodded. "Yes, that's optional, all of our offers are. If you have your own arrangements with your sponsor, you just have to inform the office, but there shouldn't be any problem."

Now, at Jules. "Honestly, we've been pushing the demon/angel rivalry...and Asmodea having two rivals would be....kind of redundant. Hmmm. Suggestion. Are you okay with letting your relationship be public?"

And it was at that moment when Fluffy gave the plushies and Elena was blinking rapidly at the toys of both Solaris...and her completely mundane father.

She almost wanted to laugh, but one, she was in public, and two, it was just really really awkward.

"Er, thank you. I'll, umm, try to get this to Father?"

The look on his face would be priceless, if nothing else.

...Suffice to say, Ash calling him out wasn't making Max any less 'calm' as he sourly replied to his statement.

"If the brown dog's barking and calling me out and slan...uh...slandering me with things that I ain't even going for, not to mention laughing her fuckin' ass off and treating me like a joke and you all get into a friggin' tizzy just for flicking something out of her hands when I could've easily smushed her like a bug considering what sort of Gift she's go-" The grouchy man quickly caught himself on that and stopped himself in his tracks, grumbling and cracking his knuckles, but not trying to look menacing while doing it.

"...So I think I've got a right to be pissed off if she's going to try and tarn...shred my rep before we even get on the friggin' stage with the whole little edgelord bit." He grumpily remarked, somewhat unaware he'd managed to mimic Alicia's voice almost perfectly when she had said that bit earlier as his attention eventually fell to the plushie of himself.

...He honestly wasn't sure what to make of it. If anything, it was a little creepy. And Paragon speaking up about not holding grudges and whatnot made Max give a shrug. "...Like I said, she apologizes for the 'callout' and I'll probably let it slide and consider getting her Quill."

Of course, he grumpily returned Elena's glare with a look of irritation. "Yeah? Well, it matters to me."

Meeting

Moving the M&Ms away from Ann's greedy grasp, he then popped one over her head saying "Catch."

Meanwhile, he popped another one into his mouth before calling over to the O'Neils and his new family member. "So what now? We just continue to bicker about semantics, ooooooooooooor are we actually going somewhere with this?"

Alicia was, now, starting to recover from the irritation with things calming down for her now. That and, like. Okay. The firestarter knew to call her Thick. They knew what was up. The edgy guy called her a dog and called attention to her skin again but she was fine at this point. Everyone was no-selling him on it, in the language of the job. She giggled again at Fluffy’s cute little plush of her, and, after waiting a little longer, got up to retrieve her Quill since it didn’t look like anyone else would volunteer to. Again, fine, whatever.

“You know,” Alicia said, “if you wanted to see me bent over you could have just asked.” She made sure to play it up all tongue and cheek like, bending at the waist and blowing a dramatic kiss to the room before continuing to sign the form at her old spot. “Maybe less a fetch, more something new for the hoard, you know?”

"Careful with the cold, Frosty" Soma said as the sudden aura of cold caused him to shiver as he finished signing his electronic contract.

With how distracting the argument on the other side of the table was being, Soma let out some of his gel under the table and sent the blob over to fetch the dropped quill, but the pierced heroine got there first and used the opportunity to play it off as everyone wanting to see her pose, which earned a brief embarrassed tint and an eyeroll from Soma at the false implication since he'd been looking that way to use his gift. At least he didn't need to watch to have the blob return and form a solid band around his ankle.

Turning to Fluffy as much for the distraction as anything, Soma said "These are cute, thanks Fluffy" as he picked up the lizard tailed sheep in the Emerald Dragon costume.

That still left addressing the question of what sort of interactions his hero persona might have with the other heroes... Rivalry? Romance? Teaming up? With the previous distractions it was pretty hard to tell which of those might be more 'in character' to pursue for Emerald Dragon off the top of his head.

"Meow." Ann replied to Elena in a deadpan, deftly catching the M&M and popping it into her mouth.

Then the catgirl turned to Karen with a look of confusion. "What? None of them. Are you not allowed to have fun in the A-League or something?" Maybe they just all have rods up their asses? She wondered to herself in exasperation.

Ash, Huh

Well... that was surprisingly easy. Ash was expecting them to tell her to suck it up, be a man or whatever. He must have admitted... it was a pleasant surprise. Well, maybe the little firestarter misjudged these people at first.

Max was still a douchebag though. And Ashley said she liked him? Oof. "She has nothing to apologize for. You were acting like an asshole so she let you know it." Ash shrugged slightly, watching Alicia picking up her phone and deliberately teasing the little edgelord by now. "Death threats don't make you sound much swell either."

With that out of the way, Ash turned their attention back to Elena. "Thank you. I'll have to see to it with Chairman Kaminsky first" That being the CEO of Centurion Corp. that sponsored Ashley. "but I'm sure he understands the procedures."

Contracts

"I'm not against it per se," Dani said in response to Karen's suggestion, somewhat fidgeting with the Quill in her hand. "But wasn't the persona we were planning for me much different from how I normally act? That might cause some issues..."

Meeting Room

"Dani has a point there. I mean normally it'd be fine for our relationship to be public, but her persona's the polar opposite of how she normally is, so having the romance be a public thing just...wouldn't work.", Jules chimed in, agreeing with Danielle.

Meeting Room

Ok...calm down, Momorin, calm down...

The chill in the air dissipates. Denki begins looking around for a partner, before her eyes fall on the person who called her Frosty.

Hmmm....maybe... she leeeans in closer. Oh shit, he's kinda cute. then shrinks back, lightly reddened.

She then looks to Bayard. Hm...I think...looks kinda plain...might contrast Lightning well...

She ponders to herself, twirling one of her twintails on her finger, muttering quietly.

"...No, I'm just sayin' you're being an irritating bitch without needing to say it flat-out." Max sharply remarked, rolling his eyes at Alicia's attempts to rile him up. He'd had enough. ...Although Ash continuing to keep that temper of his burning wasn't making things any easier.

"And now you're just pullin' shit out of thin air and bein' a friggin' hypocrite. If you and her are gonna call me out after lookin' like you approved of what I said to begin with when I said nothin' that had any fuckin' relevance to her;" He grumpily remarked, pointing between Ash and Elena "Then you can kindly go and get stuffed."

MEETING ROOM

"Jesus Christ, calm the fuck down." Laz said suddenly, putting down his quill and taking a puff on his cigarette. He gestured at Ash and at Max. He turned to the two senior heroes. "Uh, two issues; one; my employer told me that I wouldn't have to do any of the theatrics. Does this exempt me from this shit? Two, as for romance? What about Toros?" He asked as he pointed at Basil. The nickname wasn't out of any sort of malic, it was just what Laz called him. "How are we going to avoid another case like Paramalfait? Paramalfait was an early super hero. He was basically a swamp thing who married a botanist and everyone crucified him. "And three? Can I get an autograph? My little sis is a fangirl?"

It was a bit easier to think now that Soma didn't have to rub his scales to keep warm. Glancing around the room from people he recognized from KEU he tried to think of something that he could play off of. He never did like being especially flashy, his power could do flashy, sometimes, but so often that was just inefficient and then he'd need to hit up a buffet afterwards to make up for it. Though, with actual viewers involved, flashy might pay off...

Having apparently missed the staring, Soma turned to the maid to ask. "So, uh, other than being a maid what do you actually do?". Then thinking of something else he turned to Bay he asked "And any ideas what you're looking for yet?"
