-29:54 The writer's room starts on Monday (December 14)
-31:37 Many writers are coming back, but they also hired 4 new writers, Chrissy Pietrosh and Jessica Goldstein. Dean Lorey was unable to return to co-run because he's working on a Disney+ show currently in production so Chrissy and Jessica will be new co-showrunners, too, and some LGBT writers were hired.
-36:40 Unsurprisingly, the cast will record remotely, but they'll virtually do the sessions together rather than one at a time or a few at a time.
-43:28 He likes the idea Kite Man is wounded but has moved on, potentially still an ally of Harley and Ivy. They're spitballing on who his new partner will be, and at one point Golden Glider came up and making her as ditzy as him
-1:00:56 Season 3 will be 10 episodes, and they will be writing scripts over the next 25 weeks. They have a general idea where they want to take the show.
-1:05 HBO Max people told them to keep doing what they're doing
He also talked about other things:
first 14 minutes, pre-Harley Quinn projects
-14-21 minutes, working on season 1 without much red tape, focus groups loving Gordon, Clayface, and Bane, original Aquaman Momoa bro idea is rejected by DC so they made him like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast
-21:23 Bane
-26:03 Alan Tudyk
-38:13 Ivy and Kite Man
-44 Queen of Fables and Praxis
-55:34, Bruce Timm's sole contribution to the series was suggesting the dog stopping peeing mid-stream when Dr. Psycho says the C-word to Wonder Woman.
-56:08 (other projects) a rejected Yogi Bear pitch
Oh my God, Captain Cold as Kite-Man's brother-in-law would be awesome. That has to happen.
Oh man imagine how the Rogues would feel, especially Mirror Man who typically dates Glider.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I wonder if the actual episode count is 10 episodes or if their specific story arc for season 3 is 10 episodes. Because if the former, that is a pretty big downgrade from season one/two's 26. Maybe that was the budget compromise?
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).x3 - Glad to hear people liked Clayface.
Also the trailer for The Suicide Squad seems to be hinting they’re using King Shark’s characterization here, so I have to imagine that went over well too.
By the way, when the Batman: The Adventures Continue comic by Burnett and Dini that came out this month gave silent cameos to King Shark and Kite-Man, it gave them this series' designs, despite the comic being set in the Timmverse instead.
It's worth adding that Magpie, who also got a cameo, didn't get her design from Beware the Batman, in comparison.
I noticed! When I went to C 2 E 2 this year, I actually saw someone cosplay that specific version of King Shark, so he definitely got popular quick.
I guess Templeton prefers her 80s-esque design, but most versions of her use her Beware one. I just wish they used her as something more than a cameo.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).This version of King Shark is definitely one of the best characterizations he's ever had, imo, though I also like what I see of the version coming up in the Suicide Squad video game.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Sari Cooper is working on the show. She hasn't done much before. The only other show she worked on was as an assistant production manager on Thundercats Roar.

Someone shared this on the subreddit. Haven't seen it but maybe someone might care.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)Am I the only who feels the show became more serious and straight after the second season? In a good way. The first season felt to me like Drawn Together. The second became much more dramatic and mature, almost like Young Justice and Justice League. Maybe not Batman: The Animated Series levels of course. But still.
Season 3 recordings started today.

Also, there will be a tie-in comic sometime this year.

The original plan for season 3 was to explore Ivy's origin, which is no longer the case. She's still playing a big role.
I liked how they treated Darkside respectfully. At no point was he the object of ridicule, quite the opposite, was still menacing and yet it was incorporated organically in the shows humorous style. That's very clever and hard to do.
It remembered me of the Abbot and Costello meet the Universal Monsters movies were the monster are always treated with respect and all the humor always comes from Abbot and Costello and not from them, they still mingle with the two comedians and Dracula even takes a few jokes (Lugosi is clearly having a lot of fun).
Also, this is the most human version of the Joker I ever saw.
Brave and the Bold was pretty much the same. They played him completely straight and was nearly victorious if it wasn't for Question sabotaging the boom tubes.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I don’t know of any adaptation that doesn’t treat Darkseid with respect.
It's been 3000 years…Although Teen Titans Go did get Weird Al Yankovic of all people to voice him.
Here's a clip:
Ok, I love Weird Al but that's just stupid. That's like getting Jon Stewart to voice Batman. I don't care if it's a comedy. It still has to make sense. If you got a deep voiced actor saying stupid stuff for Darkseid, that has potential, albeit overused.
It's fine.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.For additional context: The only reason TTG's Darkseid even sounds like Weird Al is due to Starfire offering the man a lozenge. Prior to that, Weird Al pretty much had a filtered, gravelly voice (and his typical personality).
Kind of weird how the Cartoon Network upload cuts the leading joke, but eh.
