Relationship Status: What is this thing you call love?

One of my favourites comes from Amélie which is very distinct with its contrasting red and green aesthetic. Very dream-like and romantic which fits with the film.
In the Mood for Love is also another great example, using red and green, but mostly red, for the mood and design, and it's gorgeous.
I'm trying to think of a good example from classic Hollywood, but can only think of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari which I've never seen (and isn't from Hollywood) but know from reputation alone that its set design is one of the most famous and fantastic.

This thread is about production design.
A production designer is responsible for the overall visual look of a film. They basically create the world that the characters inhabit.
For example, Anton Furst was responsible for the impressive Gotham City seen in Tum Burton's 1989 Batman film. With its bizzare and hellish architecture, the city became a character in its own right. In fact, DC Comics made a story arc to have their Gotham transformed to resemble Furst's.
So what are your favorite examples of production design?
