Unseen, unheard and unfelt, a pulse sweeps through the land... invisible, silent, intangible. It sweeps through valleys, though waters, through soil, plains, through the sky. I expands from a singular origin to spread far and wide... ignored by all...

Yet, you feel it... the first thing you have felt in a long time. A quiet hum fills the air around you... and slowly, light and warmth fill your senses. You feel fuzzy, numb... and yet, you can almost hear a whisper in your mind, bidding you to awaken. Perhaps it is just the instinct to survive... to move... to live.

You find yourself alone... a scraping sound echoing in your ears as the lid upon your Pod slides open on its own... freeing you from where you laid. As you raise you head, in this strange room you find yourself in, you notice two important things. You have no memory of your past life... and on the far way of the room, a door is sliding open into an unknown world.


Good day and welcome to a new RP by yours truly, daltar!

Heavily inspired by the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild if it wasn't painfully obvious already... however, while I'll take a lot from it shall go into its own places with some luck.

The gist of it is this... we have a world of magic the which I won't describe in much detail, though you can expect it to have been a fairly advanced one. To them, a great Catastrophe hit... and while the world ended for those people they cast their hopes for a single purpose.

You.

Inside special repositories, the seeds of hope were planted. You all awaken inside these locales, designed to keep you safe and sealed away until it is safe to awaken once again. From there on... well, it shall be your journey to find what kind of world lies out there... what challenges and what prizes, what wonders may be in the ruins of Laranthiel. One Child per Clan. You'll apply as a member of your clan, for some reason chosen to survive the Catastrophe. However, you have no memory of your past life... and indeed, you won't even know what your clan was like at first or what their place was in the world. You, however, get to decide a couple things about them through your character.

Here lies the character sheet to apply to this game, with an explanation as to what each field requires.

  • Name: Self explanatory, what are you called? No last names, just a name. You can remember that much.
  • Appearance: What do you look like? This one is important. Don't mention jewelry, clothes or anything of the sort. You are a young, one would hope healthy, specimen of your Clan. Now... remember Dwarves, Halflings, Dragonborn, Elves and the like in Fantasy games? Remember Rito, Goron, Zora and such? We're doing something similar for the Clans. Everyone is humanoid, but every Clan should be at least a little bit different. Doesn't have to be an entirely different Race each one... but it can be varied. For instance, Human, Elf and Half-Elf don't look that different but can each be a Clan... likewise, Hylian and Gerudo aren't as different as say, Hylian and Zora. You don't get to describe what all the people of your Clan look like, but given that you are a member and you decide how you look, they should be close to you. Don't need to give a name to you clan or say you're an elf, describe what you look like and later on your Clan will be given a name. We're going from entirely human up to an spectrum of say... Zora or Goron as far as how out there the design can be.
  • Clan requests: This one is optional. You get to request up to two aspects of your clan. If you prefer me to handle it all, I'll do it and surprise you... but this is where you can personalize it a little bit. The aspects should be requested as a single word or maximum a short statement. Warlike, Pious, Inventive, Native to Mountains, Spread out, Fashionable, Cultured, Enduring, Ancient are all acceptable requests.
  • Personality: Tell us what your character is like, how they act, how they think and such. Very important... without your memories, this is the most crucial measure of who your character is. How do you face adversity, what do you like or don't like?
  • Inheritance: As you awaken, you shall find your Inheritance... whatever your people left behind for you to face the world outside. You get to decide what it is in general terms. This is meant to be a tool to help you face the outside world. A sword, a shield, a spear, a bow, a wand, a tome, a piece of armor, a tool... whatever your people decided to leave behind to serve as a way for you to protect yourself and thrive out there.
  • Skills: You get to name three things you are good at. Not your Clan, though perhaps it can tie into it... but you, as one of the Children, you get three things that you are good at. Perhaps you can do other stuff, but these are the top ones you are proud off. Climbing? Swimming? Running? Fighting? Strength? Speed? Inventiveness? Intelligence? Empathy? Faith? Animal Skills? Magic? Charisma? If it is a quality, you can list it here.
  • Clan Quirk: You get to decide one Quirk of your Clan. For some it can be obvious, for others not so much. For instance, Flight would be the obvious one of the Rito, being Aquatic the one of the Zora. A human offshoot perhaps, can have great stamina. An elf, great senses or instinct. This is one thing that sets apart your Clan, you can call it your specialty. It shouldn't be something too overwhelming, but it is a boost you have.
  • Magic: Perhaps not immediately applicable to some, but name an element or skill of magic for your character. This can be as simple as Fire, Lightning, Force or can also be Enhancement, Conjuring, Holy, Wind, Dark or the like. A supernatural Ability or Element is suitable to put here... if what you write doesn't work, I'll tell you and help you come up with something else. Do note that this doesn't mean you get this as a power from the beginning.
  • What do you seek in a companion?: Name a single quality you'd value in a companion.

I'll see how much interest there is before I make my picks and see how many characters I feel I can handle for this game.   • Name: Deag
  • Appearance: Deag is a big human-shaped hyena. She's about 7 feet tall standing straight but drops down to 6 feet with her mostly perpetual hunch, and she's very bulky, with a large upper body and digitigrade legs on the shorter side. Her fur is very soft, light brown with black spots. Her feet are definitely real paws with large pads, but her hands are more like furry human hands than paws—no claws, for instance. She has a short and stubby snout, but it's full of very sharp and strong teeth. She has very large dark brown eyes and a little tuft of fur that poofs up and out on top of her head.
  • Clan requests: Scavengers, plainsfolk
  • Personality: Deag's very into just sort of taking in the world right now. Not immune to stress, Deag giggles compulsively in heated situations. She's kind of touchy, taking in something new with all of her senses, not just staring at it. She thinks any problem can be solved if you take the time to assess and figure out the right tools for a problem. This need to find the right tools sometimes makes her a little reckless or greedy if she sees something useful or interesting, and she's confident she can probably also just get herself out of whatever trouble she finds herself in. So, inquisitive, impulsive, and a bit overconfident.
  • Inheritance: A spyglass
  • Skills: Hauling/lifting, fixing, and breaking.
  • Clan Quirk: Super-strong senses (sometimes too sensitive!)
  • Magic: Controlling sound and noise.
  • What do you seek in a companion?: Ambition!

  • Name: Mirari
  • Appearance: Mirari appears to be a woman of crystal, like a marble statue come to life. Her hands and legs are an obsidian black which swirl like smoke trailing upward towards her jade, central body. Her head down to her shoulders is black as well, transitioning around the collar bone, though her shoulder length hair (which sways like a sheet of fabric) and eyes (a single solid color in each, no irises or pupils to be found) are the same green as the rest of her. She is around 5'4" and is slim figured. Despite her reflective, hard looking surface, her skin is soft and cool to the touch unless she utilizes her body's quirks to harden it. Mirari does not need to breathe or sleep, though she does need to eat and drink - she ponders about the mysteries of her body.
  • Clan Requests: Inquisitive & Inventive.
  • Personality: Mirari takes everything as a curiosity - herself, the people who left her there, the world she finds herself in now. With no knowledge of her history or the history of things around her, she slowly moves through the world one step at a time. First and foremost she wants to understand why she's here and who put her there, and why her existence seems so different from her companions, or the animals in the fields, or the leaves in the trees. She tends towards the slow and methodical approach - Mirari is, after all, a stranger in a strange land.
  • Inheritance: A small telescope.
  • Skills: Patience, planning, and thinking ahead.
  • Clan Quirk: Manipulation of surface hardness/softness.
  • Magic: Scan/Analysis.
  • What Do You Seek in a Companion?: Dependability and consistency.

  • Name: Yasamin
  • Appearance: Yasamin is a saluki humanoid, though she leans more towards the human side, as she has human hands and legs. Her physique is similar to that of a sprinter's physique. She stood at 5'9" tall. She has soft, bright butterscotch blonde fur, with her long ear fur being styled into a pair of drills. She also has a long, sharp snout, complementing her soft blue eyes.

  • Clan requests: Hunter, cultured

  • Personality: Yasamin took a great care to be as elegant as she could be. When she stand, she stood with a balanced posture, when there's a conflict, she rather not escalate it to a physical one and talk down a conflict. That doesn't mean she has restraints on the sharpness of her words, just restraints on her poise. Do not take her preference for elegance for disparagement for physical activites, far from it. Whenever there's downtime, she tries to engage in anything sporty, in a sprit of playfulness and competitiveness.

  • Inheritance: A longbow

  • Skills: sprinting, shooting, hunting

  • Clan Quirk: sharp sight

  • Magic: short burst of speed

  • Name: Aelrys
  • Appearance: Standing around 3' tall, Aelrys is an ethereal winged humanoid. His short silver hair flows even without wind, and his silver eyes have an almost metallic sheen to them. His ears are long and pointed and his teeth are sharp. His skin is pale and inhumanly perfect, glowing in all but the dimmest light. His wings are like those of a dragonfly, and each is roughly the size of his entire body. They give off a soft humming noise as he flies.
  • Clan requests: Ageless, Mythical
  • Personality: Sarcastic and just a touch bitter. Aelrys lives to entertain himself however he pleases. While he isn't needlessly cruel, he isn't particularly empathetic either, and isn't very aware of the feelings of others. He moves and thinks quickly, always looking for new experiences, and often considers others to be slow and dull compared to himself. He doesn't like being alone, however, so he tries to keep his arrogance in check. Most will find him amicable and reliable, if crassly impolite.
  • Inheritance: An enchanted cloak, just big enough to cover his entire body and with holes for his wings. Despite being made of cloth, it is as tough as steel.
  • Skills: Blacksmithing, Cooking, Bartering
  • Clan Quirk: Flight
  • Magic: Enchanting
  • What do you seek in a companion?: Amusement

Hmmmmmmmmmm, haven't played Breath of the Wild because no Switch sad but I love the spirit and feeling of the game world so I am interested for sure. Just a question though. I see that you have left the ideas for clans pretty wild open. My question is would you allow a character who's Clan is undead based? I have a surrounding theme around it (clan request being spiritual and/or pious, magic being light, clan quirk being healing) that implies less race of skeletons and more "this is just sub group of various raised people" you know? Thank you for your time.

  • Name: Mugen
  • Appearance: Mugen is cute to most races. He's a bit short, at 5'2, and he has big, dark red eyes. His black hair is shaggy and a bit long, and he has smooth, dark brown skin. Then he smiles, revealing his sharp, sharklike teeth. He has two rows of them, with a third row coming in. It's a bit terrifying but maybe still cute. His body is lean, but with some noticeable muscle growth. He's a lot heavier than his size would suggest, at around 230 pounds.
  • Clan Requests: Surprise me.
  • Personality: Mugen is cheerful, outgoing, and good natured. He has no ties to his past life, and doesn't consider himself to have any real obligations, so he just wants to explore the world and meet people for now. He is very good at ignoring things that would hurt or irritate other people. He's completely willing to sleep in the rain, or climb a mountain.
  • Inheritance: A pair of gauntlets. They seem to be made of stone. When Mugen punches something with them, they release a small burst of flame. They also protect his hands from heat.
  • Skills: Animal husbandry, playing the flute, killing and eating wild animals with bare hands.
  • Quirk: Enhanced strength. Diet must consist of mostly meat or strength will deteriorate.
  • Magic: Fire
  • What do you seek in a companion?: A love of adventure.

Light To All: I'd say not to worry too much about the Clan as much as giving a couple hints at what you like your character's background to be like. Focus primarily on how your character will look like and work like since I'll be the one actually deciding how their Clan looks, thinks, worked and the like.

Name: Hetriceophalexanetrisafalon...., or just Hetrice [see below]

Appearance: Hetrice is tall, lanky, a bit hunched over. She has blue skin, and a pair of sharp, quite long horns that extend from her brow above her eyes, which are black beads set in golden sclera. She has four arms and long, black nails on her hands and feet, and her teeth are similarly black and sharp. In all other respects, she appears human.

Clan Requests: The Rulers Of Words

Personality: Hetrice will not just talk your ear off. She will talk everyone's ears off. She will talk off the collective ears of your town, your family for seven generations back, and the town from which they come. Hetrice loves to speak, one might think that that would imply she were sociable but, the fact of the matter is that Hetrice rather disdains those she sees as boring which is well, most people. What you are left with then is one who possesses a boundless thirst for "intelligent conversation" that she can never quite slake. Hetrice peppers her speech with rhymes (half and full), puns, odd sentence structure, metaphors and similes, and other linguistic half-kinks. Anyone who cannot keep up with her is likely to be the subject of her derision, of course, they may well not know that.

Inheritance: Hetrice's Inheritance is The Book of The Only Art, a manual primarily on the magic of transforming things into other things, though it touches briefly on many subjects and in this respect doubles as a general self-help manual.

Skills: Magic, Intelligence Of A Sort, Knifeplay

Clan Quirk: Four-Armed - The Folk Of The Word have four arms.

Magic: Transformation. Folk of The Word excel at changing things into other things, adding and removing properties to and from things, and so on. Most of the most powerful Word magic is invoked by way of poetic forms.

Other Notes: Like all Folk of The Word (though how would she know?) Hetrice has an infinitely-long song-name filled with rhyming syllables. Folk of The Word could at one point intuit these from each other, and those they respected more they addressed with longer and longer forms of their name.

What do you seek in a companion? "Ay? Such a silly question is this. Any who'd shack a jack with a dullwit is a cart with no horse." ("a good conversational partner")

  • Name: Skald.
  • Appearance: The first thing you would notice about Skald is the the state of his skin. Rough, leathery, and a brownish green in color, he looks like a dead man walking. As well his bones are noticeably tightly wrapped around by his skin which creates a starved, thin form. Ribs bulge out from the chest and his hands are skeletal in appearance for example. He in every way looks like a normal, average human mummy besides the gentle yellow glow that radiates from his empty eyesocks, the mysterious deep black ancient phrase magically marked into his forehead, and the fact that his head is all skull in appearance with the skin starting at the neck. Is 5'9" while standing up straight and is pretty light from the lack of internal organs and other squishy living things. Last thing to note is that even with all of this, he is still in a incredibility preserved state and could pass as a normal human from a distance. In fact, he mostly works like a living human.
  • Clan requests: Spiritual and Driven.
  • Personality: Skald is a interesting mixture. On one hand he's peaceful, calm, collected, kind, and helpful to others. A man who has reached enlightenment almost. On the other hand, he reacts to challenge with a quiet ferocity, is willing and ready to fight for the good of others, and takes a hardy "never back down, never give up" motto to his actions. To many this combo of peace and conflict would seem impossible for one person to undertake but Skald will tell you patiently that, "Conflict can bring peace and too much peace can create conflict. True awakening is when you find inner peace for yourself and the courage to face conflict with great bravery and wisdom." Now, that's not to say that he will just get into any fight. Skald raises arms only for the right causes and is actually a greatly moral person. Heal those who need healing, don't create misery for others unless they cause misery, and protect those who need protected is the foundation of his actions and be ensured that he will try his best to inspire others to take this path with a gentle guiding hand.
  • Inheritance: A tome of prayers, rituals, meditations and notes of how to treat injuries, illnesses, and other aliments. Basically a mixture of a medical journal and spiritual sculpture. As well, it seems that those who left it for him have blessed it with special magics and the highest of holy rituals so that itself is a vessel for holy power. Plus it's a quality hardcover book so it's not terrible for hitting.
  • Skills: Wisdom, medical treatment, and protection of others.
  • Clan Quirk: Immunity to poison and disease. Comes with the lack of biological functions. Still needs to sleep, drink, and eat though and otherwise anything that would harm a human would harm him. Fire, extreme cold, lack of oxygen, etc.
  • Magic: Holy.
  • What do you seek in a companion?: Compassion.

  • Name: Ynea
  • Appearance: Resembling a large, humanoid stoat, Ynea stands at about 4 feet even. Her limbs are closer to a human's in proportion than a stoat's, and while her hands lean stoat-like her thumbs are longer than a regular stoat's would be. Her build is muscular, but compact- not that this is easy to tell since her whole body is covered in fur. Said fur is reddish brown, except for her underside (which is creamy white) and the tip of her tail (which is black). The fur on the lower part of her neck is longer than the rest and sticks out noticeably. Her pupils and irises are pure black, though her sclera are visible and white. (As a sidenote, her fur turns white in the winter. I don't know if that'll end up being relevant to the rp, though.)
  • Clan Requests: Hunter/Gatherers, Nomadic
  • Personality: Ynea is generally very quiet. She doesn't emote much, and one gets the impression she's rather no-nonsense. When she does talk, she keeps anything she says short and to the point. It seems she wants to focus on survival right now, rather than enjoying herself or becoming more than politely familiar with those in the same situation as her. When faced with adversity she becomes determined to the point of stubbornity to overcome it. Especially in battle- even when faced with a foe that clearly outmatches her she won't hesitate to fight if she has stakes in the outcome.
  • Inheritance: A simple but effective looking hunting knife, with a fire striker attached by twine to a loop in the butt end of the hilt.
  • Skills: Hunting, tracking, dancing.
  • Clan Quirk: Agility. Ynea (and by extension other members of her clan) are very good at moving and twisting their bodies.
  • Magic: Wind.
  • What do you seek in a companion?: Competency.

  • Name: Evald

  • Appearance: About 6' tall, lean, muscular build, long dark hair which he usually wears in a braid, slanted grey eyes, sharp features, large pointed ears, pale skin that can change to match whatever the background is.

  • Clan Request: Determined, Northlands

  • Personality: Generally quiet, when he does speak it's usually in a sardonic tone. Once he settles on a course of action it's very difficult to sway him from it but that's because he's already looked at the problem from every angle he can think of. If you can come up with an objection that hasn't occurred to him he will consider it.

  • Inheritance: A master crafted crossbow and quiver of bolts

  • Skills: Skiing, archery, tracking

  • Clan Quirk: Camouflage. As stated above his Clans skin can shift to match the background of whatever environment they are in.

  • Magic: Cold

  • What do you seek in a companion: Loyalty, which will be given in turn.

  • Name: Ashani
  • Appearance: Ashani is a tall, feline succubus, specifically a lion. She is exceptionally beautiful, and her enrapturous appearance commands attention. She is lean, muscular, has piercing yellow eyes and a long, flowing lion's tail, the end curling into a heart. She has long deep red and orange hair, like a mane, and tattoos all over her tan body. She's also got fangs and retractable claws.
  • Clan requests: Wild, Hedonistic
  • Personality: She is very proud, and sees herself as superior to pretty much all mortal life. She is very haughty, and aggressive, and selfish. She is constantly fighting the urge to give into her base instincts and animalistic nature. She's very competitive and often challenges others to games and gives ultimatums. She's also incredibly charismatic, able to change from comforting and friendly to completely menacing and terrifying on a dime. She's kind of like HIM from Powerpuff Girls, if he was a wild female lion. She loves food, a lot, and openly talks about those she thinks she would enjoy eating.
  • Inheritance: A demonic whip made in the jungle that can tame and control beasts and humanoids that it whips. A stronger will needs to be whipped more to be held under control.
  • Skills: Strength, Hunting, Attraction.
  • Clan Quirk: Can feed off emotions from others, slowly sapping them to get stronger and more full of life and heal herself. Passionate intense emotions and energies are the best.
  • Magic: Shapeshifting.
  • What do you seek in a companion?: Worthiness.

  • Name: Yuzuki
  • Appearance: A short woman standing at about 5 foot, with fox ears and a fluffy tail about as long as her torso and a lithe build. Kasumi has long white hair with bangs extending over her right eye, kept straight it extends about half way down her back. Her eyes, the tips of her tail, hair, as well as the fluff inside her ears can change color as she wishes, though she tends to default to black tips, and blue eyes.
  • Clan requests: Island Based, Wears Kimono and Jewlry.

  • Name:Ikaika
  • Appearance: Short and stout, with a big round white feathered belly and a black and dark blue feathers for most of his small avian head, the sides of his body and his short legs, Ikaika stands about 1.6 meters tall and weighs 85 kilograms (mostly from fat around his belly, making him appear chubby), he has very small, round shaped eyes with a dark red iris and completely black and flat-looking pupils, forward from his eyes along the face is a pale blue patch in an oval shape that points towards his large grey, almost stone-esque beak about 23 meters long, it curves downward at the top, giving it a sharp tip, it has noticeable black grooves both on the upper side and the lower side. His muscular medium-sized feathery arms have each a small black wing attached both only about 29 centimeters long they are clearly not useable for flight. Its legs are bit far back on the body and covered by black feathers while its feet have dark green webbed skin between small sharp claws.

  • Personality: Headstrong and ambitious, Ikaika tends to face everything in his path head on, he's not the most inventive sort and he does not give up easily even if facing things head on doesn't work instantly, he'll make it work eventually, though he is stubborn he will eventually not face something head on if he realizes it just doesn't work, He dislikes trying to avoid problems and putting them aside, taking care of them as soon as they come up. His willpower is immense, and most hardships and blocks won't even make him flinch if it's in the way of a goal.
  • Inheritance: A light yet sturdy piece of armor that fits around Ikaika's beak, it is both armor and a weapon in this case as a hit with his beak in this armor can be quite harsh, it is small enough that it can even be used underwater without slowing down his swimming speed.
  • Skills:
    • Running Speed:Despite having webbed skin on his feet, and not exactly long legs, he is not at all a clumsy person, capable of running faster than some regular adult humans.
    • Endurance: In a fight, even after many injuries Ikaika can keep on fighting, to take him down is a big effort for nearly any opponent, whether it's enduring biological harm or mental.
    • Carving: Self Explanatory, both complex and simple, from weapons to mundane house items. He is capable of carving wood, bones and most materials that aren't metals.
  • Clan Quirk: Being capable of greatly accelerating swimming speed underwater and shooting out of the water's surface, sometimes this helps them reach even tall cliffs not connected to the ocean floor through any kind of traversable shore.
  • Magic: Enhancement.

  • Appearance: Hika appears as a 5'8" tall young man with neck-long gray-blueish hair, his head topped with two wolflike ears. His body is lean, but muscular.

  • Personality: Hika is an idealistic young man, curious about the unknown world around him. He is not averse to voilence, even maybe likes it, though he greatly prefers playful sparring to life-or-death combat. He is greatly protective of friends and family although he can be quite suspicious of strangers, especially those that intrude on what he considers "his" territory.

• Name: Enat

• Appearance: Enat is an individual standing at about 5 foot with silver hair nearly as long as he is tall. Lithe and androgynous, his skin is a rich caramel hue, with silver tribal tattoos on his arms, legs, and back. His eyes are a deep icey blue, and two horns peek out from the top of his forehead and curve upwards. Meanwhile, his nails are hard and sharp, giving the appearance of his hands and feet having claws.

• Clan requests: Resilient and cultured.

• Personality: Enat comes off at first as the strong and silent type. When it comes to doing something, he will be one of the first to volunteer… Unless it comes to vocal interactions. His silent demeanor actually comes from a certain shyness which can keep him from communicating his intentions properly. He is well meaning though and will try to help others the best he can. He generally does seem content to be without companionship, idly preferring a bit of solitude, but he respects the virtues of a patient companion.

• Inheritance: A belt of 6 knives each adorned with a snowflake and tribal pattern. The snowflake on each knife is unique. Seem to possess a unique enchantment that channels simple forms of magic possessed by the user.

• Skills: Enat is skilled in many a kind of dancing, especially the traditional dancing of his people, survived by muscle memory at the very least. He is also skilled at cooking meat dishes. Last of all he is quite skilled at acrobatics in general, being swift and agile, likely also stemming from his abilities as a dancer.

• Clan Quirk: Coldborn. Enat’s clan bore an complete resistance to the biting cold, and a touch that could freeze things solid at a whim.

• Magic: Ice magic, surprisingly enough.

• What do you seek in a companion?: Trust and confidence.

Correct. 8 at most, I'm thinking around 5 or 6... Thank you everyone for showing so much interest, but for the sake of the game itself I don't think it would be good if it gets a bit crammed.
