Damn that is admittedly heartwarming. It's stuff like this that reminds me that even though I have a dynamo in place of a heart, it still feels.

Also is it weird to admit that due to their interactions, I kinda shipped Natsuki and Sayori together? They have a dynamic that just works so well with each other ya know?

From what I've seen, that's actually the 2nd most popular pairing in this fandom, beaten only by Natsuyuri.

Honestly that one I don't really get, because they don't really seem to get along that well at least from what I've gathered. Also it might just be my own headcanon, but I can't help but imagine Monika having a pet peeve of people giving her nicknames like "Moni" or "Nika" or Green-Eyed Monster

Also it may just be my personal headcanon, but I wouldn't be surprised if Monika used to have green hair "naturally" (somehow), but dyed her hair brunette to seem more like "a real person" the moment she discovered the truth of the nature of her existence.

I have to wonder how Monika gets anything done, being a 2D image with only a few stock poses and presumably being aware of this.

Considering that she has access to the code and doesn't really need to animate at all to use it, I'm sure she can accomplish quite a bit. She could look like she's standing perfectly still and do all sorts of background changes.

I'm being reminded of Asuna's introduction in Sword Art Online Abridged and how she survived the first month without being able to use the game's menu.

Kirito: But you can't do anything in this game without the menu! How have you survived all month?!

I mean mundane things like eating cupcakes or playing piano, or doing any of the things she talks about doing in Act 3.

She must have some serious mental fortitude to be able to use the power of fanart by that logic, considering what fanart tends to also consist of.

Either that or she's a Covert Pervert and doesn't mind.

The game seems to imply that things not shown to the player do exist in the game universe, even for Monika. I think the most obvious example are Natsuki's cupcakes, but there are others.

Following that line of thought, it's been a WMG of mine for a while now that all the girls have actual voices In-Universe, but due to the medium, the player can't hear them. That's why Monika is always asking if we can hear her; the fact that we can't is a constant reminder of her being a VN character.

Until the end, at least. I haven't fully developed a theory on how that works.
