Is Contemptible Cover a subtrope of Covers Always Lie?

'Cause there are some examples where it seems like misuse, but is it a subtrope?

The Laconic is "A misleadingly lurid cover illustration.", emphasis mine. But the description just says "Compare" with Covers Always Lie, instead of "A subtrope of"...

    Misuse?
* Welcome to the NHK is a goldmine of intentionally unrepresentative box art.
  • Berserk's cover for the 13th volume shows a smiling Guts holding a completely naked and unconscious Casca whilst they are surrounded by demons. What makes it a contemptible cover, aside from nobody ever wanting to be seen in reading it in public; is that the event depicted does not happen in the story itself.
  • Beyond Beyond is a Danish CGI movie that's rather slow-moving with heavy themes of grief and death, and while it's not an entirely kid-unfriendly movie, it's one that could be hard to sit through for younger audiences. So having a cover like this is very, very misleading.
  • But it has nothing on the Futura/Orbit printing of Too Many Magicians: a black cover featuring a completely naked woman blasting lightning from her hand, who does not, needless to say, appear anywhere in the story.
  • The same publisher brought us a Tyrannosaurus Rex farting fire.
  • Many non-English-language covers of A Series of Unfortunate Events are awful and do the series no justice.

No, it doesnt have to be. Negima's 'Contemptible' covers were actually quite accurate to the content.

Why is this 'Contemptible' anyway wouldnt it just be 'fanservicey'? Not all fanservicey covers are treated as 'Contemptible' or anything like that.
