Thief/Merchant is a great support combo. You can use Gift SP > Rest to supply your D Ds with SP or use Gift BP to set them up for the next Break.

I will say, I'm not really sure what the... point of Apothecary is? Using items is fine if you have to, but it doesn't offer too much in the way of damage/breaking. Maybe for debuffing.

It's been fun.

Apothecary has Axe skills and efficient single target healing... that's pretty much it. The job suffered a bit from mixing being exclusive to Alfyn.

Poison is actually pretty great for lategame bosses though.

Ah, I could see Axe skills being useful, yeah. Mixing does sound nice, but it also sounds like the kind of thing you yoink Alfyn out of the tavern for, get a bunch of poison bottles made, then let him go back to drinking.

At least Tressa's probably able to make some trade connections while she's warming a barstool.

It's been fun.

yeah. e,poison is real handy. took on one of the optional bosses last night and one of the major reasons i won is he got 2 turns a round and so ate 2 poison ticks a round for over 1700 HP each tick

Finished gathering my characters, and now I'm in Saintsbridge to do Chapter 2 of Ophelia's story.

Also had my first bits of Banter. Alfyn thinks Ophilia is cute because she likes flowers. Alfyn x Ophilia OTP.

To be fair, he's not wrong. I have Ophilia on Merchant right now and she's cute as hell.

Travel banter for Prim and Ophilia in Prim's Chapter 2 reveals that Prim is actually fairly optimistic; she tells Ophilia that despite the hardships they've both faced, they should rejoice that they have the opportunity to travel together and know each other. Ophilia thinks that Prim is much stronger than she is.

It's been fun.

Okay, well, regretting ever taking Bewildering Dance. I think it's fucked this boss run for me, since I now can't use items for the rest of the fight.

Ugh, I should just give up, but I've been fighting this asshole for 20 minutes now and I really don't want to do it again... seriously, maybe I deserve it for using the move during battle, but I didn't think it had a 'torpedo the entire fight' option.

Okay, Primrose chapter 2 done. Sorry for all the posting, folks, but I didn't want to just edit it all in, either.

I'm admittedly getting a bit worried that I'm reaching the point in the game where I start looking for shortcuts, like using Soulstones or focusing everything onto Ophilia so she turns into a Light laser turret. I'm severely undergeared, because buying anything halfway decent for one party member takes up the entire wallet I collected getting to town, and I know the solution is just 'go farm moar' but I don't really want to. Maybe I'll follow some of the farming place instructions you guys mentioned tomorrow while I catch up on anime, and do some mindless grinding for a while.

It's been fun.

I think a good thing to do during the chapter 2 part is to go out and search for the subclass shrines, while also fighting every encounter you come across along the way. That way it's less mindless grinding and more a specific goal while grinding on the side.

That, and the recommended levels for chapter 2s are just suggestions. My Ophilia is one or two levels down from her requirement and I think i'll do fine.

Also, Cyrus is the definition of squishy mage. Great that he has elemental magic attacks that hit everyone on screen and the ability to reveal enemy weaknesses, but his hit points are fairly pathetic at level 13.

Started with Cyrus and I agree on the squishyness part. Olberic's chapter 1 boss oneshot him or nearly oneshot him most of the time, despite being a few levels higher.

Oh man, purple chests. Therion doesn't need to take up a party slot right now because I need to level Alfyn and Haanit, but holy shit, it's galling seeing chests that need him around. It would be better if it was a Thief ability and not a Therion ability.

It's been fun.

Starting Ophilia's chapter 2 now.

First thing that stands out to me is that they clearly got someone else to work on this story; they have Ophilia talking like Alfyn and it's jarring.

Sales seem to be great in Australia.

I went shopping for a copy today, but literally every store I went to was sold out. And all the gaming stores had back orders of 15+.

I don't mind overmuch though, the main reason I went looking was because Amazon raised their price by $6, but I guess I know why now.

Yesterday I spent some time doing some side content including unlocking Starseer, War Master and Rune Lord. The Rune Lord Boss is the easiest to cheese because all he does is dealing singletarget attacks that apply status effects. Equipping some status immunity items on Alfyn and letting Tressa buff Phys.Def with her mercenaries was enough to defuse the fight.

Oh boy Rune Lord is easily the most OP class in this game, it can cover every element and by enchanting your weapon with runes that trigger a magical attack after an auto attack which calculates from your weapons elemental attack (apparently other spells don't, which begs the question why there are even low level weapons with elemental attack). I had Prim and Tressa hit DMG cap with this easily. But the true star of this job is the Transfer Rune which places a buff on yourself that causes other self targeting buffs to spread to the entire party. This is ridiculously OP with Tressa as you can spread Sidestep and Rest to the whole party for complete immunity against physical attacks and infinite SP.

The War Master boss became a complete joke with this strat, the Star Seer boss can pretty much be outgeared if you equip enough magic resistance. Next on the list is the Sorcerer boss, old man Dreisang aka. "Mega Magic 2.0: What if magic damage, but too much?"

[up][up][up]Didn't get that feeling at all. Speaking of Ophilia's chapter 2... After banging my head against the wall that is the boss, I decided to take Therion out of my party, replace him with Cyrus and grind a bit.

Because Therion is probably one of the least effective characters for that fight. I'll try again tonight.

^It's really lines like 'Well, the ritual's done already, sooo...' and 'So, are you gonna help me look, or what?'

It doesn't suit Ophilia's tone at all, especially given that she's talking to an upset child.

It's been fun.

Maybe? Didn't really strike me as odd at the time. She may have been using a light touch with the child at least. The sort of thing you'd say with a twinkle in your eye.

The rest of her writing in the chapter is basically on point with her personality anyway. Man, I have to finish that second boss tonight.

Finished H'aanit's Chapter 4 yesterday. The buildup to the final dungeon was really intense with a dozen NPC's fighting along side you and holding the line so you can get to the boss. Her epilogue was also really sweet with her narrating from a far future standpoint.

I ship H'aanit X Primrose now, if you bring the later along to the formers last chapter the skit you get has Prim pretty much propose to H'aanit.

I do noticve if you sidequests much at all your main party quickly becomes grossly overlevelled. Not that im complaining. i do wish it was EASIER to catch other people up though
