In Therion's Ch 2 skit with Ophelia he more or less says that girls like her should be wearing pretty jewels, getting her kinda flustered.

i. hear. a. sound.A character getting in from Octopath would be amazing, but eight main characters just dilutes the pool - no matter who they pick (Ophilia) they'd just end up disappointing other fans.
It'd be cool to have something like Mega Man's various weapons, though, with other characters coming in for various attacks. Unfortunately, that's not a mechanic in Octopath either...

It's been fun.Clearly, this means that they should just add all eight of them.

So the beginning of Cyrus' chapter 2 (which I started after finishing Tressa's, yay for them being in the same place) confirms that he's a totally oblivious dork.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectMan I wish we could get someone from this game in Smash. Unfortunate that it's just not feasible.
Would like to see/attempt movesets for each party member though. Could be an interesting experiment.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughFun tip for Tressa's chapter 2 boss: Money is your friend. Those clerics with light spells are the backbone of a victory if you have enough for one or two goes.
As for out-of-Octopath appaearances, there is this Square Enix mobile game that features Olberic and Primrose as a cross promo. Kind of interesting to see how they would look in 3D.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectWow, those are actually really cool. I'm (relatedly) a bit disappointed that Prim only has, like, three dance sprites. There were more than that in actual 16-bit games like Secret of Mana.
It's been fun.I want someone to mod this game to add new sprite animations where the PCs put on sunglasses as they say their stupid pre/post-battle one-liners.
"It's time..."
*Cyrus applies sunglasses*
"...to teach you a lesson."
"You got more..."
*Tressa applies sunglasses*
"...than you bargained for."
I've been playing this game for the last hour. I'mean really enjoying it so far. I started out with Alfyn. Concocting is pretty fun. Alfyn is totally gay for his best friend holy crap.
^^I was gonna say, I noticed that Cyrus's battle finish line is 'Class dismissed', even in Japanese. What a dork.
Seeing a nice amount of fanart cropping up already. No shipping art yet, really.
It's been fun.I do love how everyone has unique voice lines for each (sub) job. Especially our resident dork.
"And now the lion dances!"
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Pfft. the best voiceline for subjobs is hearing Olberic proudly yell
"The peacock STRRRRRUT"
On the other side of things, so far I've noticed that Primrose goes for very unembellished voice lines for moves. I have her as a Warrior right now, and she just says "Level Slash" or "Spearhead!" Compare to Olberic who's all "I shall cut you down!", or Cyrus as a Dancer, with lines like "The moon sings tonight!"
I wonder if that's Prim's thing. Even on Dancer, the most she adds to a move name is when she uses Night Ode, with "Night Ode, bring your shades."

I have a message from another time...I should switch to the English voices sometime and see what they're like. I did for a little while, but Ophilia's voice is too high in English, I think.
^It seems to vary. I know even characters like H'aanit will sometimes use the "proper" name for the technique (Yoko-Ichimonjigiri) that Olberic uses, which implies that he taught them how to do it. It's a nice touch.

It's been fun.Yeah, Olberic's english VA, Patrick Seitz, is absolutely using his Arthas and Garrosh voices to portray basically the BRIAN BLESSED of jrpg protagonists and its glorious.
Finished all the chapter 1s and I'm starting Therion's chapter 2 now. I really wish there was a better way to get all party banter without running to a tavern between cutscenes.
Most of them don't even happen in a tavern. Like for instance in my H'aanit C2 a prompt appeared for Therion after I killed the "Sudowoodo".
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.he means running back to a tavern to switch party members to see all the skits
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI managed to ring up a store just as they were receiving some copies of Octopath.
I'm on my way there now to hopefully grab a copy.
One question, is there any benefit to transfering a demo save, other than time saved?
If not I'll probably just start from the beginning.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobJust time saved
You know, I never even thought of changing party members in the middle of a Chapter to see the skits. They're not all at the same points, though - for instance, Olberic's talk with Ophilia in her Chapter 2 is right at the end of the Chapter, right before you walk out of Saintsbridge.
It's been fun.tbh thats why I started a second playthrough as people I didnt use much (or you can apparently redo chapters)
I hope someone makes a compilation of all banter either in text or video form to watch after finishing the game.
Also, I got my copy!
I'll only be playing it a little today though, I've got a couple of other shortish games I want to finish up first.
A big part of me getting it today was worry the stores like Big W would not restock, and make me unable to price match because gaming stores retail it for $90.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobYeah, you can definitely redo chapters. I wonder if there are also 4-character banter scenes for specific groups; I know there's one for an all-male party and for an all-female party.
It's been fun.
While I haven't played the game, the Final Boss theme of this game deserves to be in the New Smash Bros in some way, even if none of the characters from it get in, either in the base game or DLC.
Its that good.
