True, nothing stops the multiverse theory from being true. It's just it's no longer NECESSARY the way it is in some models of the universe.
In any case, I do think Yaphet had a point.
They totally passed him over due to bipedalism.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Saw the recent ep.
...I guess it didn't go after religion too hard. The people there seemed to believe things would have likely gone that way even without Kelly's actions.
Not sure how to feel really.
One Strip! One Strip!I think Seth really needs to get over his religious focus.
Or, hey, maybe he doesn't.
It's his show.
But he really seems to think this is THE issue.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I know, and it's old. It's not religion that's the problem. It's predators who will take over ANY system to abuse it and control others. Without them, there's no reason religions would pit us against each other in the first place. They are the threat, not words on a page.
To be fair, that pope was going to tell the people the truth until he got stabbed by his subordinate.
So there is an example of the problem being people abusing said power as opposed to their beliefs just being bad.
I've heard about Seth's issues with religion (though I never actually watched those episodes of Family Guy) but I thought that he held himself back a bit with this one.
One Strip! One Strip! It's why I never bothered to watch the show.
Oh, and this being a rip on a Voyager episode that was a rip on a book. We get it Seth. That's why you blew all that money on a Cosmos remake no one watched.
For a second I thought the episode was gonna take this turn:
After the Pope realize that their religion is fake, he reveals the truth, they come back to the planet and found out that is now some sort of anarchic wasteland with no control or something like that, and/or some other ideology took over making the same crimes (but this time the opposite, persecuting Kelly followers). That way you give a fair depiction of both sizes.
But nah... I guess that would not be anti-religious enough.
[Anyway, I am a writer so I guess I can write the short story now]
I thought it was okay. It’s certainly better than the Voyager episode that mentioned. If only because the guest actors didn’t suck and this episode could genuinely be played off as just having been inspired by the Dragon’s Egg novel instead of being a cheap ripoff.
But when it comes to the religious stuff...it was a bit too heavy-handed, but the conclusion the episode came to was a lot more reasonable than I expected. That while religion isn’t great and can be awful...it’s just a part of our cultural development, not a horrific aberration that should never have happened. And while the episode doesn’t really spell it out, there’s some hinting towards the idea that the religion is part of what glued the culture together in the first place, allowing it to progress to a point beyond needing it.
I did like how Isaac going down to the planet didn’t really do anything. It shocked them, and then they stopped caring. Kelly gained traction because she showed up and did one big thing and then vanished. Isaac just hung around for 700 years, probably being kind of condescending. While Isaac is one of my favourite characters, he’d make a terrible messiah figure.

Not Three Laws compliant.Season 2 trailer
That trailer brings me much happiness.
Slips a little too bit into generic action, but its a far cry better than the "Family Guy in Space!" advertisements the first season got.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...The bastards at Disney are probably gonna make FOX cancel this after the second season.
"The devil's got all the good gear. What's God got? The Inspiral Carpets and nuns. Fuck that." - Liam GallagherFox is far more infamous about canceling shows than Disney, so I don't know why you're blaming Disney.
Disney will likely have no interest in producing the show if they can't make a franchise out of it, and I'm not sure MacFarlane will want to work with Disney especially with what happened to James Gunn lately.
FOX may very well screw the show over, but the deal with Disney could effectively kill it.
"The devil's got all the good gear. What's God got? The Inspiral Carpets and nuns. Fuck that." - Liam GallagherUhhh that was quite the season premier... I don't know what to think about it, it wasn't really what I was expecting for a premier and they make a point to point out how it is subverting expectations.
Paging Lt. Broccoli. Lt. Broccoli to the holodeck, please. I suppose this was inevitable since we learned the simulator existed.
I kinda ship Dr. Finn and Isaac now. Isaac reminds me a bit of Marvin the Paranoid Android and he's an interesting semi-parent to those kids.
If I was that minister, I would have selected all the children and their parents (where possible).
You lost!Wow. Watching the latest ep.
I'm sure I've said this before, but did anyone expect Seth fricking Macfarlane to create a more faithful Star Trek show than the actual Star Trek?
Cause I love this. He's even keeping his usual shit in line.
Unfortunately, the audio on the ep has gone sour. I can't hear dialogue anymore. Just music.
One Strip! One Strip! If you know anything about him being a star trek fanboy, you could have expected it.
Now I heard he wanted to do a faithful ST knockoff but FOX demanded the comedy, because people expect it from him. Seeing how the second season is much more serious after the first season was kinda proof of concept lends credibility to that rumor.
Anyways, yes I loved the recent episoe. Just hopa Alara is not gone for good.
You lost! His cousin is Denise Crosby. The woman who left after season one of TNG, didn't really have too much of an acting career after that, and dived headfirst back into the fandom doing documentaries. And he tapped her to get her former co-workers, who she was still friends with, to go on his shows. Yeah, fanboy to the hilt.
That actually does explain Patrick Stewart being on American Dad! now that I think about it.
I had no idea he was cousins with Tasha Yar herself. That's pretty nuts.
One Strip! One Strip!Mind you, Denise Crosby will almost certainly get tapped for a major role in Picard.
And good for her there.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Maybe. She turned down being in Nemesis only to play Sela and her mother in Star Trek Online.
If Sela's involved, it'd be heresy to have anyone else play her.
Is it really an alternative at all? IF this is a fake Universe, it's unlikely to be the only one. Both would be possible side by side.
