When the Shellcracker's claw came for him, Pius ducked beneath the Grimm's attack and struck at its joint, intending to amputate the monster's claw as it rushed past. After he spun out of the way, Pius unleashed a bolt of lightning at the Shellcracker's opening to blast the Grimm open from the inside with the power of crackling Dust.

In quick succession the Beowolves' fell before Bianca and Velos, and soon after their victory the Emerald Forest grew quiet once more. The Grimm faded away with barely a sound, but there could just as easily be more of them lurking in the shadows.
Firebug
The porcine Grimm squealed in agony as Scarlett's attack cooked it from the inside, causing it to fade away in a flash after her power exploded outwards from within it. Two of the remaining three Boarbatusk circled around Basil while the third charged at him directly from behind with the aim of goring the initiate through his torso.

"Are there any more of you?! Come on, umu!" Bianca yelled out as she took care of the Grimm that she attacked, swinging her fists wildly.
The blonde heiress continued to flail like a spaz for a good few seconds before she realized they were done.
"Umu? That was it? I was jist getting warmed up!" she pouted.
Then she shrugged and patted her partner on the back with the force of a freight train.
"Well, you were great out there! What now, boss?"

The Ursa was pretty close to chomping the heads of the two hunters-in-training, but between its legs getting cut off by Axel and its face smashed in by Jeanne's spiked bat, it didn't have a chance. It wasn't long before it fell to the ground, followed by Gustavus landing relatively safely once the Ursa dissolved.

It was over. The Beowulves that had lept out towards them were gone, destroyed by Bianca's hits and Velos's lucky shots. And yet, Vel was still on edge, his semblance still up as he scoured the area for more Grimm. If there's any more monsters waiting for us here, I need to know now, he thought to himself, trying to slow his panicked breath and steady hands still shaking from adrenaline. If I lower Eidolon any further, who knows what'll catch me unaware—
The second he felt something slam into him, however, his train of thought was halted. Impulsively, he spun to face the perceived opponent, aiming one of Asterion's blades towards its face, stopping only because his brain finally kicked in and recognized who she was.
"Um, s-sorry," he answered remorsefully, mentally kicking himself for freaking out to the point of nearly attacking his teammate as he sheathed the blade. "Just... please don't startle me like that, alright?"
Fox Moon
Bianca giggled. So neuro...ne...jumpy her partner was. She pulled her arms back, and put them behind her head.
"Okay, sorry! No problem, boss! P-e-r-s-o-n-a-l S-p-a-c-e! Right? Pius tells me that a lot too...although, I usually ignore him cause he needs friends."
She giggled again and smiled at Vel.
Blackwatch
Sumi folded her blade into the holster on her lower back and crawled forward, crouching behind the trunk of the fallen tree. She wasn't well hidden; her cat ears poked out above the trunk. A second later, Sumi peeked out from it, throwing Cinnabar furtive and distrustful glances.
"You can just go ahead and say it," Sumi said. "That you don't want to be my partner. You saw what just happened. I know I'm bad luck."
Sumi ducked behind the tree trunk again.
"You'll have bad luck, too."

Hearing the Boarbatusk approaching from behind, Basil swung Dorado in an upwards arc, slamming his spearhead into the Grimm’s jaw. The faunus then followed up by leaping forward and launching a mule kick at the beast’s skull, his foot surrounded by the corrosive aura of his semblance.

Blackwatch
Sumi peeked out again, red from head to toe.
"Are you making fun of me? I'm serious!" she said. "I'm the liability here. I caused all that trouble with my terrible luck!"
Sumi paused, embarrassed by her outburst, and started fidgeting with her hands and looking down at her feet. When she looked up again, she gave a gentler, curious expression.
"But... um... do you want to be partners, then?"

Cinnabar shook his head, a grin slowly dawning, "Alright Black Cat, less moping and more helping me find our destination. Come on," he turned and walked a couple steps in one direction, then turned and walked in the exact opposite direction, pretending he hadn't just completely reversed his internal compass.
Blackwatch
Sumi watched in silence until a smile, so rare for a constantly grumpy person, crept up on her face. She wiped it from her face almost as soon as it appeared.
"O-okay, I'm coming—"
Sumi scrambled to catch up to Cinnabar until she was walking right by his side.
"And you didn't answer my question." She leaned forward, hands on hips and pouting. "I knew it, you really don't want me to be your partner. And my name is Sumi! Sumi Kizaki!"

"Huh~? Uh...~ Well, with this much energy, we kinda don't need to...~! I think~! I mean if we've got enough energy ouput, anything dumb enough to charge at us is gonna get fried! ...Maybe~! Sorta like one of those attracto-electro bug zappy cage...things!" L.I.L.I cheerfully remarked, doing her job to make sure that dome of electricity would hold.

"It's not just that," Vel responded, still feeling bad about what went down. "I..."
He let out a sigh as he realized dumping his all his personal hangups on his teammate wasn't a good way to start a partnership. "N-nevermind," he finally said. "We should probably get going."
Now if I could just figure out which way was north again...

While Basil engaged the Boarbatusk that came from behind, Scarlett moved in to engage the other two, brutally striking one in the side of it's face with a running, leaping, burning dropkick. Or, just a kick, rather, as a pair of backup dancers caught Scarlett in their arms and put her right back on her feet.
With one Boarbatusk hopefully reeling from her strike, Scarlett moved to intercept the other, running then sliding underneath it's thundering hooves and searing the beast's belly with a burst of fire.
"Man, being surrounded by all this crispy bacon is really making me regret skipping breakfast."

Bianca quirked an eyebrow (she had seen Ana do it so many times that she was quite proud of her ability to mimic the maid's haughty look) and crossed her arms, metal gauntlets resting atop each other.
"Okay, now wait just one second here, mister. I may be dumb, but even I know that the key to any strong partnership is communication. Papa always says so!"
She walked over to him and leaned over so she can glare at him properly.
"None of that nevermind stuff! You spill!"

Stashing his breaching tool away on his belt, Axel took a moment to survey the area as Gustavus sorted himself out and got back to his feet.
Turning to his partner, Axel growled "Give me and Gustavus a moment to get sorted out and we'll be on our way. I need to make sure he didn't sustain any major damage during the fight. If you'd be so kind as to try and scout out where we need to go next, I'd greatly appreciate it" and with that, Axel went to work checking on his dog's chassis, tightening any loose parts and making note of any major dents in the robot dog's metal plating.
“…I don't do well around Beowulves, alright?” Velos finally answered, not even bothering to try and make eye-contact with her. “I sense even one, and my brain kicks into fight-or-flight. I've been trying to work past that, but obviously I don't have it as much under control as I thought I did."
It was a barebones explanation, yes, but she didn't need to know everything about him to understand that he couldn't stay calm around those particular creatures of Grimm. Besides, she seems to be the only person on this gods-forsaken campus to not know about the Incident, and I'd rather keep it that way as long as I can…
Cops and Robbers
"Okee-dokey! Make sure my George-y's all better!", Jeanne said, still refusing to call Gustavus by it's real name. She skipped along the forest with bat in hand, trying to see if any other Grimm were ahead.

The electric shocking seems to have been the coup-de-grace for this oversized shellfish, as it let out a loud cry before keeling over and dissipating into black smoke. Pius and Blaze seemed to be out of the woods (figuratively)...for now.

The bug-zapper shield strategy was just the ticket, as the Vesperella and its swarm ended up running headlong into the shield, screeching as they all fried and died. Jayce, L.I.L.I., and Suzu were safe, it seemed...

Bianca's expression softened, and she promptly walked over to catch her partner in a quick one handed hug, wrapping her right arm over his shoulders (she made sure her gauntlet's blades were retracted.).
"Is that it? Come on, umu, you could have just said so, boss, I get it, I get it...and hey, we're partners! You can tell me anything!"
"I guess," Vel responded, squirming out of the hug before stepping away. "We should probably get back to finding the temple..."
His voice trailed off as he realized that there was no sign of the warmth that he had felt earlier. Damn it, did it get cloudy during the fight, or am I still under the shadow of some tree?

With no real target to collide into, Jayce sailed over Suzu's head before swiftly stomping down the ground nearby and cancelling out his semblance as he quickly glanced around to check for any other potential threats and still holding onto Partition.
"...It wasn't quite how I was expecting to turn out, but the results are still the same. ...Are you two alright? The nearby vicinity's clear, so we have a few moments to rest."

Pius gave a contemptuous huff as the Shellcracker began to fade from existence. Dies Irae was halved once more and stowed away on its owner's back, and he gave a little nod to Blaze before gesturing for him to lead the way.

Basil's opponent could barely get out a squeal before his attacks melted off half of its head, and it fell in a dissolving heap before him. Scarlett's assault sent one Boarbatusk slamming neck-first into a tree, snapping it against the bark, while her flames quickly cooked its partner and dissolved it faster than normal. Soon the two were alone in the Emerald Forest once more, and the way to the relics was open once more.

"Stay on the defensive. If that shield of yours is capable of deflecting other forms of energy, all the better, if not..." Jayce mused, only to find the Grimm was finally going on the offensive and causing him to waste no time firing out another order "L.I.L.I! Assist and synchronize with that shield, NOW."
It was clear by the tone of his voice sounding less stoic that he was concerned as he wasted no time in quickly changing his strategy, swiftly firing a barrage of lasers that bounced off the sword he'd placed down earlier while activating his semblance, body turning into photons and charging right at the Grimm, either to throw it off balance or...
"R-Right~! I'm on it, I'm on it~!" The cheerful cube replied, quickly retreating from the swarm of smaller bee-Grimm and hovered around Suzu, her internal reactor charging up and causing electrical energy to crackle around the Drone as she tried to synchronize that output with the gynoid's shield and hopefully to create a much larger, if almost sphere-like barrier/wall that'd give the Vesperella quite the nasty shock or at the very least, stop it in it's tracks to give Suzu a possible opening.
