Are you talking about Langley?
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’I was referring to Char's shows specifically. Of course all the actual series are aired during children's timeslots. IBO got a ton of flak because of it.
PSN ID: FateSeraph Congratulations! She/TheyAnd as my last post in this thread, I shall let Geoff dig into why exactly this show fell to pieces near the end.
I find myself agreeing with a lot of the points. Simply put, it lost direction.
Like I said before, DINF had no clue what it wanted to be, and because of that, it falls apart in some places. It's a fun show, for sure, but it's not a good one.
Welp. Time to ship out and see what else comes next.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Apparently Nishigori stated in an interview that he only planned ahead until episode 15, then left the rest of the plot to "progress naturally".
Explains the loss of direction.
Progress naturally > Aliens out of nowhere.
…Uh, sure. I mean I still like this show but even I can hardly defend that choice.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. You thought a sci-fi paleocon narrative wouldn’t bring in an evil foreign conspiracy?

What's precedent ever done for us?Indeed. Surely we all saw it coming a mile away that APE weren't what they seemed. Or, rather, we all knew that they were what they seemed, because they seemed to be an all-powerful council with a Dark Secret who would quite possibly end up being the real threat.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."If Teen pregnancy is the plot going naturally then clearly a bunch of monkeys were writing the script by tossing their dung at it.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. Not sure if serious there. I mean, we surely couldn’t have expected a show about male-female pairs of teenagers piloting mecha doggystyle to explore when happens when one of ‘em gets pregnant, could we?
What's precedent ever done for us?The show sure didn't! It's just "Let's make babies! Yay!"
And the drama~ only came from the amnesia involved.
Like I said monkeys tossing dung wrote the plot.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Basically good example of why "Naturally proceeding writing" shouldn't mean "Pulling out of the ass as we go on"
And there I was wondering if the whole VIRM and True Apus elements were signs of the writers making it up. Well, that explains a lot.
I thought Nishigori waited ten years to do this show though. If he did, then I don't understand how he could be so reckless with his storytelling. You're playing with fire making things up as they go along, and sure enough the series got burned with Episode 20. Given its fair popularity in Japan and online, I'm wondering if we're going to see Episodes 16-24 get hit with Canon Discontinuity and see A-1 bring an overhaul of the second half as a new season?

Together, we are one.I wouldn't mind seeing something like that. I'm still a fan of the show after all.
I guess in this case, Writing by the Seat of Your Pants didn't work out like they had intended.
This will probably be my last post on this thread, but someone finished translating Nishigori's interviews.
If I'm reading the interview correctly, it looks like Nishigori was only genuinely viewed Episode 13 as his passion project and lost interest in everything else. Just about everything else was essentially improvised, including Zero Two's character and the bird and flower metaphors. Also, it seems like the entire second half was decided by a voting system on the spot without any outlining whatsoever beforehand. Hoo boy, this really is Writing by the Seat of Your Pants, isn't it?
Welp, I'm off to greener pastures.

Together, we are one.Hey, sometimes that approach works and sometimes it doesn't. At the very least, the good parts of this show I found really well done, and it's a shame it couldn't keep it up all the way through.
Last post for this thread too (Though probably going back in case if it ended up getting some new info)...But yeah, regarding Nishigori's interview...It kind of figured why the show wasn't holding up very well especially in the story department. If the director has no passion, yeah...There's a chance that the work could ended up a bit bad. (Although I enjoyed Di TF in some aspects so yeah)...Though this brings me one question: I'm not sure if changing directors would be a good idea though? Maybe Japanese people had a different way of handling their shows than in the US I guess?

"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."smh declaring miku best girl and popular amongst the staff yet getting an episode that does everyone a disservice with its plot and doesn't really feature her in the spotlight

at least my other trashy fave zorome escaped the nonsense drama relatively unscathed with a competently executed arc
Chapter 26 of the manga has been translated.
As was said before, the manga is pretty much condensing things in the anime that could have been seen as filler or unnecessary as well as making characterization make more sense like Nine Alpha, who is not taking Hiro's position as 02's partner very well and is going to be antagonistic towards Plantation 13 in the long run.
Also, we have a glimpse of the Klaxxosaur princess at the end.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.Is it just raw version?
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’
The first version I found was in Spanish, I don’t know if there’s already an English translation.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.I Lied on this being the last post of the thread.
Anyways, wanna reviving it for something. Has anyone here read the manga by Yabuki Kentaro? If so, is there any expansion that happen in the manga and how different it is compared to the anime?
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I have only read bits of it, but I've noticed some of the events have been rearranged a bit. Most notably, for the anime episode where Goro was trapped inside a Klaxosaur after saving Ichigo, the manga has the situation reversed with Ichigo trapped after saving Goro. Not sure why they changed that particular part though. The Nines are also introduced earlier if I remember.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. Is the manga good though? I'll probably give it a shot in the future.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."
Back in my day, kids had better sense. None of this Kirito or 02 nonsense. People liked good characters like Inuyasha and Asuka.
Wait a minute...
