Here's the place to inquire about pages whose images aren't potholed to anything. Note that the source might also be in the caption, a commented-out note, linked in any previous threads, or specified on an Image Source subindex, so please check these before posting here.
Google Image Search, Tineye
, and SauceNAO
are good resources.
Images Without a Source lists the pages that have been discussed in this thread but haven't been sourced yet. Once a source is found for an image, please add it to the appropriate Image Source pagenote and remove it from Images Without a Source.
About Images and Copyright covers our general policies about image use; see here for more details and Image Pickin' forum policies
. It's always a good idea to link images to their original versions and (when available) providing a link to the artist's site when they are located, especially if we're given permission to use an image.note
- Area 51 — mainly text, easy enough to do an alternate version.
- Blood Oath — clipart with text over a generic scroll.
- Broken Heel — clipart shoe.
- Editorial Synaesthesia — generic warning sign.
- Minsky Pickup — specific musical notation.
- Political Correctness Gone Mad — clipart wreath with text.
- Sequence Breaking — clipart maze.
- Themed Cursor — the image and the cursors are all awful, could be replaced with a screenshot.
- Villainous Demotivator — clipart skull plus text.
Edit: Black Box, Blown Across the Room, Double Jump, The End, Friday Night Death Slot, Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics, Horny Vikings, Rump Roast, Stock Femur Bone, Surprise Slide Staircase, Treasure Map, and Visible Silence have been replaced.

I did some digging on Google Image Search and I think it's a photo from when an Oscar Myer Weiner Mobile was listed as a place to stay at on Air B&B according to this article:
https://www.autotrader.ca/editorial/20190722/oscar-mayer-wienermobile-pops-up-on-airbnb-seriously/
It's not listed anymore though, the link is dead:
Should we put links to the original in the caption in the case of webcomics, like I did with He's Just Hiding? I think it's only fair.
I'd like to apologize for all this.Should The Promposal picture have a caption saying that it's from a news broadcast?
"Acton teen lights promposal on fire in driveway"
"High school senior lights promposal on fire in driveway", etc.

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576The image for Panspermia doesn't have a source listed on the wiki. A reverse image search claimed it's called "Alien Mother" by Caleb Ongoro but looking up the artist's name only led to a website full of pretty clearly AI pictures. I'm not sure if this is grounds to replace it, or if that's enough to be called a decent source?
My favorite sci fi enemies are the giant sexy depressed womenThe image does not illustrate the trope anyway, but that's a topic for another thread.
Fjón þvæ ég af mér fjanda minna rán og reiði ríkra manna. It's not AI; I did some digging, and discovered it's a painting by the artist Gary Soszynski
. Scroll down on that page and you'll eventually see it. As per a comment on this Reddit post
:
Does anyone know the source of Wacky Wake Up Gadget?
Your goateed philistine is sashaying towards us. | 🧱
From reverse searching it, it came from a religious site called JW.ORG.

Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Regardless, the image does not illustrate the trope.
Fjón þvæ ég af mér fjanda minna rán og reiði ríkra manna.Calculator Spelling illustrates the trope incredibly well, but is there a source for this one or is it just a stock photo?
Tineye shows it first came up on mashable.com

Looking into the sources deeper, it appears to be from mattkoenigphotography.com, but the website is dead. I found the photographer's flickr page
, which says that it requires permission. Considering the last post on the flickr page was 2015, I'd think it be better to find a replacement, which should be relatively easy.
