Terrene: A Dungeons & Dragons Campaign

Eons ago, the gods of various pantheons created the multiverse. But a few were unsatisfied with the worlds their fellows created. Getting in contact with each other, these malcontents gathered to create their own world.

Drawing upon matter from the Elemental Planes, they created a planet: the core was made from elemental Earth, the atmosphere from elemental Air, the seas from elemental Water, and the Sun from elemental Fire. They named this world- Terrene!

They brought life in from other worlds. Over the eons, even more creatures arrived, either on their or brought by others. Today, virtually all known races and creatures exist somewhere on this planet.

Welcome to Terrene, a 5th Edition D&D campaign by El Sijo. I'm currently looking for 4 players. If anyone leaves I'll allow more players to join.

• System: 5th Edition D&D.
• Concept: Sandbox-style game. The story will depend on where the players decide to go (and their level.)
• Requirements: Any official Class and Race is allowed. However, PCs must start at Level 1 and be of Good alignment.
  • Classes and Races not found on the Player's Handbook might be allowed if you link me to the source so I can judge them.
• Character Creation:
  • Ability Scores: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 + racial modifiers
  • Ideals, Bonds and Flaws will not be used. Instead characters will gain Advantage for doing something that fits their Alignment (good things) and gain Disadvantage for doing bad things. (these must be *real* good acts- don't expect to get Advantage from giving a beggar a single coin!)
  • Playstyle: No dice rolling. Instead, this would be played just like the rest of the PbP games on TVT. You provide a Character Sheet, and based on that + your choices and the situation I decide what happens.
  • priority will be determined by dexterity
  • Advantage entitles you to an automatic success (of your choice) and Disadvantage causes an automatic Failure (of my choice).
• Posting Requirement: Once a Day. This is to accommodate players from varying time zones while preventing the game from slowing down much.
  • You have up to a week to post, then you'll be assumed to have left the game.

I'd like to make a person, but I'm also flexible in what type of character to make. I think I'm leaning towards making a cleric or wizard but if someone else wants to make those roles I can do something else.

• Personal history: Magnus had a rather normal youth, being taught the way of the druids in his village. But when he came of age his village was nearly razed by a raiding party, the only reason they survived is because a messenger managed to warn them, giving them ttime to prepare. That day Magnus decided to become a messenger as well to be able to save others. On one of his deliveries he came across a giant mantis, seeing how the insect was injured he stopped, treating the wounds of the Mantis before continuing on his way. As he was on his way back the insect was waiting for him at the same place he left her, soon he noticed that the Mantis wanted to follow him.

May I ask if creature races are also allowed or only the standard ones?

As I said, right now it has to be PC races from the handbook BUT if you can provide a link to a description of an alternate class or race I'm willing to consider them.

No, characters are no longer alignment bound. You can be a good druid. I require everyone to be Good because this is an universe where alignment is more than a moral choice, there's plenty of magic and monsters attuned to it.

Also while I don't find it in the wiki I'm rather sure vermin were also allowed as an animal companion, what would your ruling be on that?

How does it looks so far?

After getting some advice I've decided not to allow stuff from D&D Wiki BUT I will allow Unearthed Arcana material- but again I must read and approve it first.

The Centaur looks OK but I would prefer if you found a version on UA or other official or semi-official book or site to use.

From what I got the messenger gets no weapon, also the Mantis is CR 3, although would you allow her if she'd not interved in any fights?

No because it's hard to justify its presence. Why not make her a regular mantis?

And you can use your GP to buy weapons and armor. It's not necessary tho.

Also I still want the Druid abilities listed here for ease of reference. The less books and sites I need to read, the better.

I couldn't find a regular one, only a giant one, but I'd be fully okay with a smol normal mantis so ja, regular smol bug it is.

OK, now you only need the skills I think. Choose two from Arcana, Animal Handling, Insight, Medicine, Nature, Perception, Religion, and Survival.
