I watched the new episode yesterday.

"Chill Bill" was quite fun.

The Greens are visiting Lake Smalton, an artificial lake. Cricket is excited, but an attempt to drink Splish in the car has Bill telling him off, which makes him suspect he won't have fun. But once there, Bill suddenly shows off his wild side; Cricket was too young to remember the last time they were there, but Bill really loves the lake. He's like a different animal. To prove her point, he's rented a boat for the day, the S.S. Hootenanny. And of course, to further underscore it, he makes a Splish shake with ice cream. As in the whole carton going into the blender. Even when that falls apart, Bill still plays it cool.

Meanwhile, Remy jumps on a floating trampoline attached to the boat. He asks Alice if she wants to watch, but she brushes him off to focus on tanning herself, which clearly doesn't work, considering how much the Sun's rays are hitting her. He jumps only for the trampoline to get loose. He calls out for her help to no avail. At the same time, Tilly and Nancy swim to the shore. Tilly finds a turtle and wonders how many animals she could befriend. Unfortunately for Nancy, the next one she finds is a leech that ended up in her arm. She takes it as her new companion. Oh, how naive. After finishing the shake, Cricket and Bill go do more activities together, like grilling burgers. He's really enjoying it so much that he doesn't want it to end.

On the trampoline, Remy begins to hallucinate Vasquez as the beach ball accompanying him. The hallucination suggests that he use his glasses to reflect the sunlight to alert the Greens. Unfortunately, it just causes Bill to put on his sunglasses and proceed to do "bo-nuts" (sounds awesome). He briefly snaps and accidentally drops the beach ball. The voice of Vasquez cries out for him. On the shore, Nancy expresses concern about the leech, which Tilly has taken to calling it Sylvester under the impression that it is bonding with her in friendship. But shaky legs and lightheadedness say otherwise. After throwing up the Splish shakes from the bo-nuts, Bill brings out a jet ski and has Cricket to drive it. He's overjoyed, but then he hears Nancy calling out for Bill to bring the first aid kit to a very pale Tilly. Bill senses that something is wrong. Of course, Cricket doesn't want Bill's fun side to go away, so he distracts him with noise-cancelling headphones and brings the first aid kit to Nancy before rushing off to the jet ski to Nancy's dismay.

Tilly still believes that the leech is her friend. Nancy reminds her that it's a literal parasite, but Tilly assures her that Sylvester will come right back if she removed it. She demonstrates and is immediately proven wrong. Poor sap. On the upper deck, the leech bites into a very sunburned Alice's cheek. It wakes her up in pain and she throws it, hitting a fisher and a buoy onto the trampoline, where Remy is trying to get the beach ball. It punctures it and rockets him towards the dam and its discharge vortex. Cricket spots him and goes off away from Bill. He attempts to rescue him, but the two end up falling into the water and get sucked into the vortex. When Bill spots them, he promptly snaps out of it and goes off to rescue them. He takes the inner tube and tosses it to them, and they make it to safety. Afterwards, Bill tells him off for endangering his life. Cricket apologizes, saying he didn't want to see Bill act all stern again after having so much fun with him. He admits that he ought to be more fun and wild, but he does so because he cares about him. Then he throws him onto the lake and jumps after him to play in the water.

This was a very nice episode. It was fun seeing a different side to Bill, and there was plenty of danger. I thought Cricket running off instead of helping Tilly was crazy, though. The Remy plotline had a very good serving of dark humor with his hallucination of Vasquez. Maybe Alice should have had more time, but she was fine. Honestly, there wasn't much else to say except this was quite a funny, simple episode.

I'm giving it a 9/10.

"Bunny Farm" was quite exciting.

The Greens have made it to their first big crop harvest since moving back to Smalton, with a vast amount of lettuce and carrots all ripe for the picking to Bill's joy. Unfortunately, some rabbits have come by eating them. He chases them off, but Nancy comes by to warn that more of them are coming. Mass Produce built a high-tech rabbit-proof fence and forced the wild rabbits off their land, so they're headed towards the nearest farm: the Greens and their vulnerable harvest. They have to harvest today, but Tilly reminds him that a harvest this big normally takes a whole week. Luckily, Nancy's brought help: Patty and Wayne; Good Ol' Joe; Trey and Tracy; and Hector, his girlfriend Sunday, and his sister Lupita – all ready to go. Nancy is about to assign them jobs, but Bill takes her away to air his concern. Only Joe has any farming experience. She tries to explain why, but he can't take any chances, so he takes over and asks her to fix the tractor to pull the carrot harvester. He assigns Patty to go with Alice as rabbit patrol due to their shared military veteran status, ordering them to get them out at all costs (which prompts Tilly the animal lover to go after them to sabotage their efforts). The others are to go with Bill. Lupita is excited, but he asks her to stay behind because she's too little, much to her frustration.

On the field, he's showing Trey and Tracy how to pick the lettuce when Trey suggests getting the "government subsidies" to pay them not to grow crops. Yeah, that's apparently a real thing in America. He's been using the money to buy four-wheelers. Bill asks him to get to work, which the two take as an insult; Trey says he works hard, but the four-wheelers keep him busy – and the kids too. How tiresome. On that note, Bill heads off to check on Cricket and Remy, and the couple goof off. Likewise, the boys are spraying each other with hoses when Bill catches them by surprise. He tells them off, but Remy responds that Hector and Sunday aren't doing anything. He rushes off, which impresses Cricket. Clearly snitching has its perks. He finds them acting all mushy with the carrots, distracted from the rabbits that have surrounded them. He tells them off, and they respond in confusion, which causes him to back off. However, he realizes that he was tricked. He's hopeful that Joe is still working, but Lupita distracts him with a poor cartwheel attempt and some dancing. He tells her to leave Joe alone, only to get distracted by Wayne's screaming in terror over something. He comes by and it turns out to be just a rabbit. Unfortunately, Wayne has a crippling fear of rabbits. He jumps into Bill's arms when another one comes by. He demands to know where the rabbit patrol is.

Over there, Patty prepares to drop a giant boulder. Meanwhile, Alice has a bunch of TNT to do the job. A rabbit is lured to Patty's trap, where she lets go of the rope, but Tilly snatches it to safety, and the boulder rolls off towards the dynamite. Bill arrives just as the boulder hits them and explodes. The two chase after Tilly and confront her just as she releases the last of them into the woods. They're angry because Tilly has made the rabbit problem worse. Bill returns to the farm to find everyone not working at all and the rabbits still chewing crops. He promptly orders everyone to get out, to Cricket's joy and everyone else's dismay. Nancy confronts him, and they argue about the others' efforts. He says that they aren't doing anything right, but Nancy defends them, asking what he's afraid of so much. He admits that he's afraid of losing the farm again, which shocks everyone. He feels that he needs to make sure nothing goes wrong, but she reminds him that he doesn't have to go through it alone and that while she didn't help much last time, she's changed. She asks him to take a chance on them if they need to save the farm.

Suddenly, Tilly, Alice, and Patty arrive from the forest. The rabbits had babies. And they are stampeding towards the farm. He resolves himself to put Nancy in charge, and she gets to it. She encourages the boys to cart the lettuce to the cooler with the wheelbarrows with a "world's strongest boy" temporary tattoo, Alice to wash them, Patty to make snacks for everyone, and Tilly on rabbit patrol (she has a much better plan, after all). Trey is tasked to pick carrots with Hector, Tracy lettuce with Wayne, Joe doing alright, Lupita to run to the junkyard for an alternator pulley for a 1989 Jim Buck tractor, and Sunday to perform a song for motivation. Cue an inspirational musical number. Sure enough, Tilly lures the rabbits to the barn, while the others harvest and store the lettuce successfully. Unfortunately, they're struggling to keep the rabbits away from the carrots. To make matters worse, the rabbits at the barn break out of there. Just as thing seem bleak, Nancy arrives with the tractor fully repaired thanks to Lupita's help. She tells Bill to take the tractor while she leads the others to drive the rabbits away to the forest to clear the way for Bill. The harvest is a success! The folks celebrate while the boys show off their split temporary tattoos to Bill and Nancy. Bill commends her skill in managing people, which she notices that it felt natural. He toasts to a brighter future for the farm when Wayne runs screaming to Bill. It's another bunny.

This episode was nice in showing more of Bill and Nancy's relationship, this time when something is at stake. It also shows how Bill seems to be quite traumatized from losing the farm and how much he's changed over time and as a result. He's like a less drastic version of Luz Noceda from The Owl House in that he's suffered from loss like losing Nancy and the farm, and it affects him in the same way losing her dad did. He insists on making himself miserable as Camila Noceda would say. Of course, both Luz and Bill have people who are there to help them shoulder the burden – for the latter, it's his family and the people of Smalton. As for Nancy, it's nice to see her really taking the lead, showing just how much she has matured over time. You gotta appreciate how much she has become such a confident woman compared to when she first came to the series. It's a fascinating transition. It was also nice seeing the various characters from the previous episodes stepping up to play a big role here. Seeing them get involved was a great way to showcase how much the Greens mean to them as well as their own capabilities. The pacing was perfect, with each moment hitting the right spot at the right time. And Sunday's musical number was also quite wholesome.

All in all, this was a perfectly done episode. I would give this a 10/10.

I watched the new episode yesterday.

"Long Goodbye" was pretty fun.

The time has come for Remy and Alice to head back to Big City. Vasquez would be preparing a welcome home dinner to celebrate, while Gloria needs her to sign some papers for the café. For Bill, Tilly, and Cricket, it's a bittersweet event, and they want to spend just a little more time together. Nancy suggests that Bill bring the kids with them. They like the idea, since they can also sell some produce and catch up with some old friends. Nancy's staying behind to run the farm, so they all give their goodbyes (with Alice giving her a hug – how sweet). They arrive at Big City, and Cricket, Tilly, and Bill are entranced by the gleaming city. They find a parking spot for the farmers' market. Bill parks there with great skill (trapping a fly), impressing a warden enough to give him a "reverse parking ticket" and $20. They set up shop when Officer Keys spots them. He's been so bored he took up an anime hairstyle to keep things interesting. Huh. He sent an alert to his group chat of all the Greens' acquaintances, and right then, their friends and neighbors come by, plus a background character, and someone named Fabian the puzzle master. They all clear the stock by 4:00 p.m., so there's ample time. They decide on a tour of the city.

Meanwhile, Vasquez has prepared the dinner, while Gloria cleans up the house for Alice's return, reminiscing on how she spent all this time alone. We should have had a Gloria solo episode, it's a shame we haven't got one. A knock on the door reveals Danny DeVito! Or rather, a purple-haired, green-skinned lookalike named Merv Stampington, the notary for the café's permit. He's early, even though Alice isn't here, so she can't sign anything without her unless she refiles them. It's his last appointment before retiring from his 40-year career at 6, so Gloria invites him in.

The family visits all the different places throughout the city. It was fun at first, but Remy and Alice start to tire when they go up and down an elevator. While they're stuck in traffic, Vasquez sends a text message to Remy with an exclamation point for the first time ever, while Alice demands that they go home, but the others stall before she gets a call from Gloria and more messages come into Remy's phone. Cricket promptly takes their phones and puts them in the glove compartment, and he and Tilly persuade them to stay for more sightseeing, and they decide to look at billboards. As they do so, Vasquez tries calling to no avail, sending him into a deep rage. Cue him ripping his uniform to reveal fatigues, as he declares that he will take Remy back. Gloria and Merv are still waiting, with the latter becoming increasingly frustrated. She hears a knock on the door, but it's only Vasquez, who asks if she saw Remy. Realizing that he's with Alice, she drags Merv along to find the Greens.

At that moment, they're at a billboard district. I didn't know that would be possible. There are a lot of billboards, but not enough to keep them occupied. Alice and Remy are worried. It's 5:55, and they have to arrive home by 6. She prepares to get out, but Bill locks the doors, turning it into a kidnapping. Bill spots a helicopter (piloted by Vasquez) tailing them, so they end up on a chase across the city. Merv is also distraught. They end up on the bridge, where they go off a ramp and bounce on a boat onto the other side of the river. Bill and the kids are acting like maniacs. He manages to stop before hitting a dead end, where Vasquez descends the helicopter in front of the Greens.

They turn around and the chase continues. Remy recognizes him, but Cricket and Tilly try to make him look away. Merv attempts to bail, but Gloria pulls him back, since it's not 6 p.m. yet, and Vasquez has him fly the chopper (despite his inexperience). Vasquez leans out with a grenade launcher armed with smoke bombs and launches one in front of the truck, causing them to spin out. Just their luck, they've ended up at Alice's house at West Elkins Street. Bill guesses he was subconsciously driving there. Alice and Remy promptly escape the truck, and Vasquez jumps out to hug him. Gloria and Merv follow to have Alice sign the papers and Merv stamps them just in time for retirement to Cancun!

Bill and the kids are about to step out when Alice stops them. Alice tells them off for their behavior with Alice and Remy, constantly ignoring them and going so far as kidnapping. I'm amazed no one is considering pressing charges. She's demands that they go back home to Smalton. Reluctantly, they set off for home. Later that night, they ended up running out of fuel; their joyride has taken up much of it. By sheer coincidence, they have ended up exactly equidistant from both Big City and Smalton: 80 miles (128.748 kilometers). "Perfectly balanced between two worlds." Bill calls Nancy, and after a while, she arrives with a tank of gas. They admit to her that leaving Big City felt like leaving home, even though they live in the country now. Nancy says she fits in more with the country, but it seems like they changed. But they insist that they feel as at home in Smalton as in Big City. They think it's a conundrum to choose, but as anyone with more than one house can attest, they don't have to – Nancy can stay and run the farm while Bill and the kids can stay with Alice. They can come and stay in between the two whenever they want – if Bill allows it. Cue another hug from Bill. It's settled: they're going back to Big City!

Once the truck is refueled, Cricket wonders whether they're country folk in the city or vice versa. Bill's answer: "Well, we're…the Greens." "And all our problems are solved," Tilly adds. Oh, how she'll regret these words, because they soon pass a cemetery. There is a gravestone with the name of Chip Whistler, the CEO of Wholesome Foods with a vendetta. In the previous two seasons, he had been going after the Greens for a mishap that ended up with his tooth being chipped (get it?). That escalated into an excessive attempt to outright kill the Greens, which ends up causing him to be banished from Big City. That and being literally launched out of there. Anyway, the gravestone says, "HERE LYETH CHIP WHISTLER/BELOVED SON/- LOCAL PARIAH -". Someone leaves a bouquet of flowers in front of it. The undertaker arrives wishing the interred a good night – except Chip. To his dog Digsby, he describes him as the biggest jerk who ever died, being buried out in the country because he was banished from Big City, all because he kept going after that simple farming family. He can't recall their names: "The Groats? The Grubs?" "The Greens," the mysterious figure answers in a horrifyingly familiar voice. "And their troubles are just beginning," he adds as we see his fucking chipped tooth fill the fucking screen!

This was a nice episode. The first half of the episode was quite nice, as we see how much the Greens are gonna miss Remy and Alice, as well as how they're seeing Big City again with fresh eyes. It was fun seeing everyone else get back together to catch up. Also, Vasquez and Gloria were wonderful as always, backed by Danny DeVito's ace comic timing. And do I get the sense that Vasquez is more of a parent to Remy than his own parents? The second half of the episode was a bit weak at the beginning, but recovers. Sure, the car chase was fun, but I feel that maybe the Greens should have told Alice and Remy their reluctance to separate. Maybe they should have accompanied Gloria for the notarizing and went to Remy's welcome home dinner. I'd say that it would've worked. But afterwards, it was very poignant, and how they struggle with the decision to either keep going to Smalton or returning to Big City, despite being rather artificial, was nonetheless quite well done for the Greens. It was quite a relatable experience. And of course, the end. My God, I am shaking. I can't wait for Season 4. It's gonna be quite exciting.

As for this half of the season, it's a surprising story arc that has had its ups and downs, but the location shift went down quite well for the show. The only other show that did so quite well would be The Loud House and how it set up The Casagrandes with Ronnie Anne. Big City Greens's arc was an inverse of that, so it was an interesting thing to see. And I think the crew was successful at integrating it.

Overall, I would give this episode an 8.5/10. A nice send-off to Season 3 and the start of a new era for the show.
