Cool detail I saw pointed out is that Luffy's outfits are from the color spreads.
As an additional information, Iñaki Godoy dubs himself as Luffy in the Latin American Spanish dub, rather than Luffy's current voice actress, Desireé González.
Going through the trailer scene-by-scene, to pick out the context:
- It starts in Windmill Village, with Shanks' ship in the background. Probably in Luffy's backstory.
- A shot of the Going Merry being built in a shipyard, presumably in Syrup Village.
- Luffy looking out.
- Luffy walking up to and touching the Going Merry. Maybe they added a scene to Syrup Village before the fight with Kuro where Luffy sees the Going Merry being built?
- Luffy sitting on the Merry in front of the Baratie. The Baratie isn't damaged, so this must be before Fullbody shot Luffy with a cannonball. Either that, or it's not actually in the show.
- A shot of Shells Town.
- Zoro tied up in Shells Town. Followed by a shot of Luffy looking around the courtyard with Zoro, and there's a giant picture of Axe-Hand Morgan in the background.
- A shot of the Straw Hats' first small ship, which they got from Shells Town.
- I think I know who the red-suited guy fighting Zoro is. Based on the spikes in his hair and sword design, I think he's the former Mr 7 who tried to recruit Zoro for Baroque Works. His cheek also looks like it has a tattoo on it, which could be a 7.
- Nami talking about the Grand Line, after Buggy.
- The Lord of the Coast scene in Luffy's backstory. Unlike the manga, Shanks is in a dingy.
- Alvida's ship fighting another ship. Looks like they're going with the anime version of the Alvida scene instead of the manga version.
- Buggy laughing menacingly. Probably from his intro.
- Zoro and Nami preparing to set off, post-Buggy.
- Garp's ship firing a cannonball.
- Usopp, Luffy, and Zoro duck to avoid a cannonball. Maybe fired by Garp, maybe fired by Fullbody.
- Luffy falling into the water and Sanji jumping in to save him from the end of his fight with Krieg.
- Luffy, Zoro, and Nami fighting Marines. Looks like it's in Shells Town, which means they're adapting Nami's anime-only scenes before Orange Town (and having her meet and fight alongside Luffy and Zoro earlier).
- Usopp firing his slingshot. Could be from the start of Syrup Village, could be from his shot on Jango, or it could be from his fight with Chew. I'm betting it's actually from the Chew fight, since the trees in the background look more like those seen in that fight.
- Sanji kicking a gun away from pointing at a guy. I'm guessing this is Patty pointing a gun at Don Krieg before Sanji feeds Krieg.
- Luffy cheering on the Merry's figurehead. Could be from anywhere, but I'm glad they're establishing the figurehead at Luffy's seat early on.
- The scene post-Loguetown of all 5 of them with their feet on the barrel of beer, proclaiming their dreams before they kick the barrel open to mark the journey to the Grand Line.
- Luffy's Gum-Gum Pistol on Alvida, with Coby behind him. Also from the anime version of Alvida, they're on a ship instead of the manga version where they're on an island.
- Luffy mentions finishing moves to Zoro. Looks like this is also from the Shells Town scene. Maybe the pay-off for this joke is Zoro naming his finishing move against Cabaji (Oni Giri) later.
Notably, they avoided showing much of the villains. Kuro is a twist, so hiding him makes sense, but Krieg is only barely shown with his torso, Buggy and Alvida each get a single brief shot, Morgan only gets a poster, and the Arlong Pirates are completely absent.

The Scrappy of the Trope Pantheon, God of Thumps
I would say Krieg is also a bit of a twist considering how shockingly ungrateful he is. Arlong not being there is probably for the surprise emotional reveal of Nami’s backstory.
Is it me or is the filter of the show looks a lot drabber than I’d like. Reminds me of Knights of the Zodiac, which Mackeyu also starred and I hope it doesnt have that. I know manga pages yellow eventually but having a poop filter aint a solution

I'm pretty sure the gun that Sanji is kicking away is held by Fullbody, his suit is an exact match for the one he wore during the Baratie arc.
You can tell that they are trying to preserve as much of the inherent goofyness without making it impossible to take seriously. I definitely respect that, but I'm also genuinly curious what somebody who never saw anything of One Piece would think of this trailer.
As someone who hasn't watched the original, this actually looks like fun! I hadn't been anticipating this one overmuch, but my interest has been raised by the teaser. ^_^
My Games and Asset PacksI did see a mention that Zoro's and Nami's hair look a little inconsistent, and from this teaser at least, I think I would agree with that.
On the subject of Luffy's powers... I actually think its acceptable for it to look a little goofy (if it does in the final product, kind of hard to tell in a dark scene like that). That's a fine line to walk - There would be such a thing as TOO goofy, where it crosses over into uncanny - but it could work.
I hope when we get a bigger trailer, it includes a shot of Luffy punching out the Lord of the Coast (if that's in the show). Feels like it would be a moment to further convey to the audience the scale and fantasy.
I'm so used to laughing at Buggy I haven't really thought of this much before, but if you're trying to be intimidating, why not be a clown? It works for The Joker and It.
I don't actually think this'll be a thing, but hypothetically as an adaptional choice, how would you feel if Nami got her Clima-Tact in the East Blue? Like, if they lengthened the time in-between Arlong Park and Loguetown a bit to make it plausible to have Usopp build it then?
I like how scary Buggy looks. It should make it funnier when he gets hit in the nuts.
That teaser doesn't actually look too bad! Definitely need to see a lot more and it's still awkward as fuck watching a live-action version of this thing but from this initial look it does at least feel like it's getting a lot of the spirit of it right. Some parts are easier to nitpick (the color grading, Godoy's delivery, the inconsistency with Nami's wig, the Gum-Gum Pistol part) though it could play better in the show and it may well just be wonky trailer edits.
So overall still cautiously optimistic. And also following around on social media this clearly had a lot of fan hype coming in so hopefully it does manage to turn a lot of them out when the show drops.

We live in a society!
