An other-world restaurant is the perfect place for a date. Good catch, sailor boy.
The chocolate-chip variety is the good stuff. I'll have to disagree with our resident horned waitress though; fruits are more delicious than sweets. Candied fruits, though... Hmm.
Speaking of Aletta, it's wonderful that she finally gets a stable job in fantasy world. And under Sarah Gold, too! The question is if they go to Nekoya together.
Bit of extra info: apparently the owner of the bakery mentioned in the episode knows about the magic door too.
Episode:
To my complete lack of surprise watching Dwarfs eating is nowhere near as charming as watching Elves, Mermaids and Princesses do it.
Also, a Dorky Prince pines for Adelheid. He seems like a good guy, but man he's shy. Good thing he has his sister to help him.
As always I like the casual world building. Magic was apparently taught to human by the Elves.
What?! Seeing two funny old-man dwarves swing their stumpy little legs around happily wasn't adorable? It was like watching a baby seal flop on its belly. Also interesting that they don't know what squids are. At least, the dwarves don't.
The desert kingdom was intriguing— it totally makes sense they rely a lot on magic since their living conditions are relatively harsher.
Good thing for the shy prince that his sister is a sagely wingwoman.
Ooooh, natto spaghetti next episode...
I think this may be a trope as I seem to remember a few other settings where the Fantasy Counterpart Culture of the middle east is more magical than elsewhere. Araby from Warhammer immediately springs to mind and if I remember correctly there were some Dungeons & Dragons settings like that as well.
As for the episode itself, I did love the dwarves. Their sheer enthusiasm was fun though I have never thought of dwarves and seafood going together. I also liked that they made a new career as keepers of a rest stop in the mountains purely due to the restaurant.
I am looking forward to the fairies next episode.
Episode out: The Fairies discover the world of crepes. Faladania discovers fermented food.
The Fairies were so cute, especially their Queen. I like how she very carefully analyzed the food... for everyone's safety of course.
I wonder why that Seed is so valuable.
Faladania seems to continue her quest and meets with her father's best friend, Christian. What kind of a name for an Elf is Christian anyway?!
I never ate Natto, so I can't possibly comment on how it taste but I would never suspect it can be used in spaghetti. Also calling yourself a western restaurant while using something so quintessentially Japanese might already be a stretch...
Faladania continues her quest for new tastes, this time going to the Western continent. Let's away new developments on that front.
Started reading the manga and there seems to be a fair amount of customers from the beginning and there's more interactions between them than in the anime. Sarah's design is also a lot cuter as well. I also noticed that there's a character that looks a lot like the half-elf princess though unlike the anime she has dark skin and seems to be a lot snarkier so I'm not sure if it's actually her or not.
x2
There's not that much more. Just more than in the first couple episodes of the anime. The stories are also ordered differently and some characters are drawn with darker skin than they are in the anime like the half-elf princess. Not only that but the anime tones down some of the fanservice as the normal elf's outfit is more sexual in the manga than in the anime.
Well, I would assume manga follows novel (non chronical) order. That said while anime does follows chronological order it also shuffle some events (like Alleta comming into restaurant much later).
As for Nato it's not purely japanese, and for owner even chinese food already count as "western food" being well west from japan...
Episode 10:
Kuro is just too cute. It's hard to believe she's actually The Black Dragon of Death. Though we knew already that she's actually overflowing with kindness, since she emigrated to the Moon just to avoid killing weaker beings. I'm so glad to see her happy.
They remembered that Sirens are not the same as Maremaids, nice.
You know, for a race that apparently lives in very small groups in caves, they sure have nice clothes. Or maybe those two are just hiking?
Did he realize there that this was actually the Chimera Killer?
I googled Lassi, sounds delicious.
Next episode: Isn't that the Elf Hero who defeated the Lion man?
That was on my mind the entire time! They live in nests and their clothes aren't made for nests. Probably stole them from a buncha poor schmucks whose ship they wrecked. Also, yeah, I think that siren recognized the chimera killer. At least the door on that island won't go unused! Also I sure can go for some sashimi right now.
Kuro is learning the joys of companionship. So happy for her! And she talks! Like, actually talking with her mouth! Too bad Aletta didn't notice.
Lassi is super delicious, but then I like most things with yogurt in them. Can imagine it would go well with curry buns. Yum.
Next episode: looks like we're gonna deal with two of the so-called heroes. And Aletta is tearing up about something.
True but they still looked more like harpies than proper sirens
◊. Despite that I did like the pair. So childlike yet unintentionally dangerous.
Curry Pan has always intrigued me and I didn't know it was fried. Looking it up I would have to agree that Lassi sounds nice.
Anyone have any idea how long the series is going to be as it is probably the only series from this season that I will miss once it finishes?

Doesn't look to me like one big happy family...
