Some MMOs are just so interesting looking that I want to play them, even if they're multiplayer. But the most engaging interactivity I'm comfortable with is something like a FPS or Splatoon where I don't have to actually talk with anyone.
Neopets now lets everyone get a fifth pet, and six if you go premium.
The only MMO I played for a lot of time was Toontown. I tried and enjoyed Rewritten but I kinda wanna keep my memories of the old game, y'know? (Plus I'd sink way too much time into it if I seriously got back into it...)
The Protomen enhanced my life.I miss the old version of Charactour, before it became a social media site and back when it was just focused on helping you find new ficional characters you might like. I hate that now, if I want to take the quiz to see which character I'm most like, I have to have an account and give them my name and e-mail.

The Protomen enhanced my life. It's not completely gone, but aside from a few videos, Nick's Avatar: The Last Airbender webpage has been nerfed to the ground.
Disney has also gotten rid of a lot of their fun games from the early 2000s.
Nick also removed all of their web-games to focus on mobile games.

I got into Toontown a few months before it went down. I never did do much ln it, though. I never interacted with anyone either. My only memory of doing so was when someone tried to talk to me and I ignored them because I thought they were a NPC. I felt so rude and embarrassed after noticing they probably were a kid.
Edit:
Yahoo Avatars was discontinued a few years ago. I haven't used Yahoo in years - and the huge leak a few years ago ruined my trust in them - but I have fond memories of mid-to-late 2000s Yahoo. The Yahoo Avatars were fun.

Ranch Story was my third favorite Harvest Moon fansite after Ushi No Tane and HM Farm. I just learned that it's been replaced with a Tumblr blog and the forum is now a Reddit forum. The domain host closed prematurely.
Ushi is now the last major English HM fansite AFAIK.

The Asia-Pacific Cartoon Network website. It's still around, but it's so drastically different that it might as well be a completely different site to the one I remember. It was my very first forum (we're talking like 2009-2010 here), and while my experiences there were very cringey (since I was literally a kid when I was using it,) I had a great time and it was my jam for a good while. It helps that it was kid-friendly and moderated really well.
The site also had this sister site of sorts that I think was sponsored by Go Animate? It was basically just this thing where you could make little fan cartoons for Chowder and Ben 10 (I think there were other CN shows covered, but those two are the only ones I remember.) I loved that. It was honestly really cool. Heck, I'd probably go back to it if it were still around today, but as far as I know it's just completely gone.
- i seriously worry about the online games since Adobe will kill off Flash by 2020, which is coming soon. but I worry a lot about the state of online games since mobile phones are now demanded than ever, and some online games aren't played as much as anymore. trust me, i checked
- when i was a little kid, i do not navigate the internet as much and only get games from my favorite cartoon characters. since i worry i might get a virus, so i don't know any online games from the 2000's.
-buttt there is this one spiderman website that has all of the shady games on it, and my kid self was bonkers over it. it's not particularly shady, but it doesn't credit the creators, and hell there is one newgrounds game there- i want to come back to it for memories but from what i saw, it must've been taken down
- i miss the old barbie website with all of the old games in it, while i remember baby krissy, i remember a storybook-like game very fondly. but i haven't found any traces of it online that i'm starting to think i probably just made it up in my dreams, the only thing i remember is ocnnecting the dots with the stars and it would make a fairy.
- club penguin. i haven't played it in a long time, but when i come back to it when i played club penguin rewritten, i just... don't know what to feel. rip my old account where i paid a lot of money for. sorry mom and dad. and sorry for the friends that i left behind, but i honestly don't remember them that well, so... shruggo.
The best thing since... sliced bread.Yoshi the Web Pet from the old Yoshi's Story website was the first virtual pet site I spent a significant amount of time on, even before that Willy Wonka Pet Wonkanite game and Neopets. (I loved that Willy Wonka website too, and I still spend tons of time on Neopets!)
I found a listing of some players' Yoshis! http://www.angelfire.com/co3/yoshi2000/pets.html
I miss the original Moshi Monsters website. Good thing we still have Moshi Monsters Rewritten.
Oh, I believe in yesterdayOracle Thinkquest
. They had a section that hosted a bunch of freeware Interactive Fiction games and let you play them online (including one original to the site that acted like a tutorial/introduction to the genre in general). Introduced me to a lot of different ones.
And how could this be complete without talking about Club Penguin? Though we still have Rewritten.
In a similar vein, there are several games from the Cartoon Network website that have been taken down, but they’re still available on some other sites. I still kind of miss the originals, though.
Oh, I believe in yesterday
