I didn't see a thread for him. So we can discuss him here.
Mod note: This thread is primarily to discuss Chuggaaconroy's work, not the allegations against Emile.
- If there are new allegations, or updates regarding the early 2024 allegations, they can be reported here if they come from a relevant and reliable source.
- If there are no more updates, there's nothing more to say about the early 2024 allegations. They've already been discussed at length. Trying to restart that discussion will get posts thumped.
- This is not a place to share your own opinions on the truth of the allegations. Claims that they're true or false will be thumped. Attacks on the credibility of Emile or his accusers will be thumped. This is not a court.

I mean the same could also be said of Masae in that case.
Or Ant Dude.
Or Emily.
Or anyone involved in these events not directly mentioned.
That's just a bad spiral of logic to go down.
Yeah, it's best to not jump to conclusions on that front.
Orcus on His Throne will always be my pet peeve.I'm not making allegations or jumping to conclusions just pointing out its possible and you don't know.
Like before this Chugga (with NCS) visited a child dying from cancer and gave generous gifts.

That too. Though not just content creators/celebrities any person like you or me could be doing despicable things unseen and thus unknown to the public.

About a week before the news broke, Lucahjin and Proton Jon were playing Super Mario Party. One of the jokes they made was Lucah spilling the tea on Emilie's secrets, usually stupid things like chest thumping. She then promised more spilt tea after the Thrown Controllers panel.
Now that all seems scarily prophetic in ways none of us realized.
I'm honestly not sure whether or not it's proper for me to post this. I've been looking at this as an outsider. I didn't know who Chuggaaconroy was until this all unfolded. What's clear though is that he was someone that a lot of people posting here looked up to, or at the very least enjoyed the content of. It seems to me at least that there's a lot of people hurting in this thread. So I figured maybe putting some things out there might help.
It's always hard when a person that most everyone thought was a good person turns out to not be. A lot of people that grew-up with let's player's probably at least on some level thought of them as a friend that would come over and shoot the shit about video games with them. Someone that if they met in real life, they could be fast friends with, or at least admire. It's easy enough to say not to get invested, not to let a parasocial relationship grow. Having that distance, that detachment, is a lot harder.
When things like this come to light, a person starts to question themselves, wonder if there were signs, if perhaps they weren't a good judge of character. That is not the case. What a person chooses to present themselves in public as, versus what they might feel, say, or do in private are sometimes very different things. Given that most of the reactions here were those of shock and disbelief, it's safe to say that he had done a good job of presenting himself in public while keeping those more unsavoury aspects private.
It's easy to feel that things like his let's plays that may have gotten people through rough or dark times, are now tainted with that knowledge. I would say though, that as obvious as it is: no one should feel guilty for having enjoyed his content. No one should feel bad for turning to him to brighten their days, or to model what they wanted to be to the world after the public persona that he crafted. Those feelings, those moments, belong to those people, not to him. He may have been the catalyst for them, but he is not the owns those feelings.
It won't be easy for people to move past this. Eventually it'll hurt less. I can't say when, no one can. I hope that it's sooner rather than later.
Chuggaaconroy hasn't lived up to people's expectations of him, but at the end of the day that's on him. It doesn't invalidate any of the past joy or positivity that people got from his work, even if it feels like it does. If he was an inspiration, then be inspired to be what he should've been rather than what he turned out to be.
It's always hard to parse what to say to people hurting from this kind of situation. I hope that some of what I wrote helps, if even just a tiny bit. It's not my intention to come off as preachy. At the end of the day no one else can tell you how to feel about this, certainly not me. I just thought that putting this out there for people that might need to hear it, so to speak, might be of some use.

If you're referring to Emile's behavior making NCS, Proton Jon, or anyone else in his circle suspect then while a healthy amount of skepticism is fine but they are still innocent until proven guilty.
Speculating on what skeletons may or may not be hiding in their closets is unproductive without evidence.

Youtubers becoming friends always lead to this type of thing...
Maybe that's why Youtube removed the feature.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice....I'm starting to grow REALLY sick of all this shit, I really am. I've recently learned the importance of stepping back from the Internet, knowing that we don't truly know who's on the other side of the computer screen, and that we should be VERY careful by who we trust, or who we listen to, with people lying all the fucking time... and guess the hell what: Emile's next on the list. This is only fueling my deep-seeded cynicism towards anything and everything to do with bigger name YouTube stars, and I am starting to want to see guys like Emile writhe under the scrutiny of the Internet's outrage, in light of this information coming out.
Now, I'm not, in fact, going to say that 2024 is RUINED or anything by this (hell, I've actually had a delightful month thus far, and a delightful day on another note), but I am saying that content creators like Emile need to just... STOP doing this shit that gets them thrown on the spot like this.
I liked this guy, over the years that I've watched him... so seeing this... I am not okay.
Self-professed Wild Card who thinks cynicism isn't so bad.The key thing with Chugga seems to have been validation. I'm pretty sure that if someone had told Chugga that he was being a creep, he would have likely sought help earlier.
But there's cases where the person likely didn't really know at the time (like with this most recent allegation) or, and the main point I'm making, the very real possibility that Chugga wouldn't take "no" for an answer and become a stalker or become violent, which is a very real situation.
And as some of the people who have come forward have said, there's also Chugga's (now previously) rabbid fanbase who would harass anyone who likely would dare to come forward.
Emily really had to deal with it, but Masae, and the floodgates that came after her, really toned all that down.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I don't get this whataboutism about other creators. Yeah maybe Jon or Tim are secretly awful people in private too, you can never really know what people are like behind closed doors (even if they're your close friend for years like emile was to tim and jon), but it's pointless to speculate about that without some sort of credible evidence or testimony.
I'm sure Emile will still have his rabid fans who defend him no matter what, even with this last allegation. I know other youtubers who carried on even though they messed with minors in a similar way. Even Yandev apparently had people believing his shitty non-apology. I just hope that Emile if nothing else has the good grace to not try and continue his LP career after this.
Emily I think people were quick to dismiss for a variety of flimsy reasons, but Masae being a longtime friend of his that many people liked (unlike Emily who many followers of his likely didn't know or care about) revealing that she had cut ties with him for similar reasons made it much more difficult to ignore. And then there were the many people after.
EDIT: I've also been thinking about this for the last few days, but Emile really was one of the last people who really did in-depth lets plays and still had a modicum of success. Streaming has basically killed off traditional let's playing that originated from something awful in the mid 2000's, and even people like Emile who still managed to survive that don't have the following they once did.
It's kinda hard not to see this as an end of an era of sorts. There are other LP'ers left but I think Emile was probably the biggest one. And any career he tries to have after this will be tainted by these allegations.

It's kinda funny, during the last couple B/W 2 episodes Chugga was talking about doing his own livestreams (As opposed to just showing up on those of other people) and I was thinking, "That feels like a controversy waiting to happen considering your chronic foot-in-mouth disease", only for things even worse than I could've imagined to come up instead.
Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.Written let's plays are a thing...
Maybe reinvent those.

Like I’ll be real I was always more team Jon over team chugga when it came to trg they were my binge option on rainy nights
Chugga not that guy for me but he is to my friends
Who are the big Nintendo fans
This is an outrage against Luminara!
