I didn't see a thread for him. So we can discuss him here.
Mod note: This thread is primarily to discuss Chuggaaconroy's work, not the allegations against Emile.
- If there are new allegations, or updates regarding the early 2024 allegations, they can be reported here if they come from a relevant and reliable source.
- If there are no more updates, there's nothing more to say about the early 2024 allegations. They've already been discussed at length. Trying to restart that discussion will get posts thumped.
- This is not a place to share your own opinions on the truth of the allegations. Claims that they're true or false will be thumped. Attacks on the credibility of Emile or his accusers will be thumped. This is not a court.

...You know, based on what I'd heard, I was expecting Rex to be annoying but honestly he seems tolerable to me? Not necessarily super riveting but doesn't seem egregiously offensive. His character design is still not great though (i get the idea of it being a fantasy diving suit but it's a miss in my opinion). I have to admit, the "No wallet I'm afraid" actually got a laugh out of me.
Also I thought that "Gramps" sounded familiar and it turns out he's Andre from Dark Souls. It's odd that he's doing an american accent though.
I feel like a lot of the negative reception Rex has is a product of him being one of the bigger victims of the main game's... ehhhhh voice direction. He's almost always talking in the same tone of voice and it doesn't feel as nuanced as Shulk's inquisitiveness was, which as said above gives the vibe that he's a boring and generic character.
I still do like Rex and his voice, though! It's just... the voice direction can cause a lot of Narm at times, like the script never gave context for any of the lines.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaAs someone who 100% XC 2 as much as possible for a first playthrough no DLC run (yes I cheesed the gacha, no I don't feel guilty because you didn't), it's not so much Rex's personality that makes him unbearable as the sheer amount of scantily-clad older women that you will see find him sexually irresistible over the course of this playthrough.
(Again, 100% first playthrough. Only Zeke and Nia are written worth a damn, change my view.)
Does anyone actually read these?![]()
And somehow that's not even the worst case of "uncomfortably blatant age gap in a relationship" in the game, either. *gestures at avatar*

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaNah, you need to understand the concept of gaze. An adult guy who has his pick of women, including at least one who's blatantly underage, is a male fantasy. That counts even if the guy is younger and all the women who worship him are older. It's only equality when you see the same unattractive everyman loser as a woman, beating off hot men of every age and creed with a stick.
Actually... come to think, of it there's a sidequest in the first game where Reyn tells off an 60-year-old guy for having a crush on a woman in her early 20s.
What an odd contrast between the two games, there.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse Alberia...Actually, not so much that as a case of The Unfair Sex. This game has a crapload of age-imbalanced romances and/or attractions, but all the ones that are played sympathetically (or at least non-tragically) have the woman as the older party.
Not counting Malos's love for Jin, which while not explicitly canon is close enough to count and serves as that character's main redeeming factor.
Does anyone actually read these?

Wait, artwork who showed?
Besides, Monolith hasn't forgotten about any of its things
◊. That doesn't necessarily mean they're doing anything with them.
