Room 222 -> Dining Hall
Leona blinks as she enters the room and the commotion happens.
"...Huh?"
She looks around, slightly confused, dumping her bags by the empty bed, dumping the backpack on the bed itself.
Is...my roommate invisible? Or can change places instantly? Or move faster than I can see?
Taking one last glance around the room for anything out of place, she shrugs and heads on out. She could unpack later. She'd had a long trip, and she had to find Ava.
Now...where could she be?
It was around now that she realized her stomach was aching from hunger, which did give her somewhat of an idea.
Maybe she's hungry too. That was quite a long ride.
She heads out the door, making sure to lock it behind her. Didn't want to have anyone going through her stuff. With hunger in her mind, she makes her way to the dining hall.
"Depends on where you go. It's a pretty big country, so there's a lot of variety, from big urban cities to rural farms. I'm from a small suburban town, myself. So there are neighborhoods, some stores and restaurants, schools, doctor's offices, that kind of thing." Vicki paused; she'd never really thought about how to just describe the country before. "Or did you mean like... government and population and stuff?"
Stupid doomed timeline...Dining Hall
"Ah... I guess that's what I meant. I guess Frugval's a decent size and it feels like a lot of it is forest-y, but there are some bigger countries so..."

"Hey, what else are we supposed to be doing today?" He begins moving to the door, trying to remember if there was a schedule.
Long live the New Bev.Without looking behind him to see if Chris is following, Tasar makes his way back down to the first floor and to the dining area he'd spotted out of the corner of his eye as he was going to his room. He grabs a plate, and looks for the most filling vegetarian option. He wasn't sure what the dining policy was at the school, but he didn't want to waste money if he was going to have to pay for it. After filling his plate with a dense salad, he looks around before sitting down arbitrarily by a scaled humanoid (Daniel) and beginning to eat in silence.
I need to update these things more often"Ah... So, varied then... What part of it are you all from?"
He notices Tasar now having sat next to him and the rest of the group, he figures he should greet him in some way, so gives an awkward wave.
"life is just a series of increasingly canon-eluding ao3 tags" ~ everydunsparce "Keep your hellfruit away from me, tempter" ~ also EveryChristian follows Tasar down to the dining area. Still carrying his green creeper backpack, his rollerblades dangling attached. He grabs a tray as well and goes and gets a sandwich or similar he wasn't that hungry but he should get something.
The college kid watches as Tasar sits down at the table with Daniel frowning a little, hesitating and just standing there awkwardly. He swallows a little and just goes and slides himself to sit at the very end of the table as far as he could from everyone while still being on that same table. His hood in this time having been put back up. Christian not wanting attention brought to him.
Given how out of place he is. It might not work.
"Mmph"
Tasar makes some sort of muffled sound of acknowledgement after being waved to, but does not attempt to follow it up with any more conversation. He is clearly too busy trying to get something in his stomach, and the food he's currently eating isn't actually as bad as he would have imagined. Naturally it couldn't compare to what he'd had in the earliest years of his life, but he tried not to think back to that, unless he wanted to grow soft.
I need to update these things more oftenLaura took notice of the new guys at her table, but seemed to be too busy stuffing herself with pizza to greet them properly. She sort of waved with her free hand, but then she saw the smaller one head to the other side of the table. She noticed he seemed kind of... young.
Wait, how old is this kid? He looked like he was a middle schooler, not a magical college student. Maybe he was a prodigy or something? She looked over at the kid curiously, before turning her attention back to the group. It may not be best to draw attention to it, after all.

Vicki had also gotten a bit distracted trying to finish her refried beans before they got cold to talk too more about where she came from. She too took notice of the young-looking kid, wondering if he really was that young or just looked it. Deciding he wasn't really out of place either way, she paid no more mind to it and returned to eating.
Stupid doomed timeline...Jacob would look around, gazing for a table.
You know, I see a few empty ones, but this plate is pretty big, and everyone here is apparently also gifted.....What say we show off a little?
There'd be a slightly noticeable clatter, as the plate materialized onto a table close by our other protagonists, a certain gang of chattering chatterers.
Jacob'd grin, and then feel yet another spike of fatigue, his eyelids slightly slanting downwards, and his legs beginning to feel weak.
GET TO THE FOOD. The odd voice that appeared to be part of his internal dialogue would shout, as Jacob stumbled, limped, and eventually arrived at his table.
A few minutes later, he was much more awake, and pondering getting refills. Then again, the school did have other types of food. Maybe he'd have a different plate this time, and, assuming he didn't over exhaust himself, maybe a small bit more. If he did tire himself out, he might try eating more out of necessity to stay awake, though doing so multiple times would simply prolong a long nap.
For those few who had noticed the teleportation of the plate, he simply waved, along with doing a few hand signals akin to that of a magician.
Making sure to keep the wood shavings and bits from falling onto the table, Thistle continued his meal. After a few minutes, he'd transformed most of the already half-finished wooden stick into... well, a more defined and well-carved wooden stick. He'd need to work on the curving part on the top, maybe balance the thing out...
... and then he saw a plate materialize on a table near him. Raising an eyebrow, he glanced around for the source of the anomaly. His eyes eventually landed on a tired young human, who looked like he was about to pass out as he limped towards said table.
Thistle watched in stoic amazement as the human devoured his food in a manner worthy of a lizardfolk. "You okay over there?" He called out. "You looked ready to drop like a vaegth, he said, the last word a raspy hiss of some unknown language.
Wooze looks at Glass with a 'please take her away' lookWhile in the middle of her meal, Dahlia couldn't help but notice some kid walking about in the dining room.
Guess he must be one of them child prodigies or something.
Dahlia also couldn't help but notice the bright green backpack he was carrying around. She knew she saw it from somewhere, but could not place what it was from. Probably from some kids show or something, but there was no doubt he was definitely from Earth.
That elf she saw earlier in the halls also seemed to be with him. Now that she thought of it, he did kinda look like an elf, one from those Lord of the Rings movies as opposed to Santa or Keebler elves.
She saw them sit over by some other group a few tables over.
Interestingly enough, aside from the armadillo dude, the other three looked kinda normal, which kinda stood out when almost everyone else looked like some sort of fairy tale character. Even Dahlia had her headpiece, and she had enough confidence in her abilities to take down anyone who thought it looked funny.
Huh, what was that?
Dahlia thought she saw something move... and apparently some other people saw something as well. Apparently a few of them seemed to be looking at some guy waving his hand like an idiot. The hell was he even doing?
Was he... falling asleep?
Ignoring that, Dahlia turned back to her own grub and continued chowing down.

Jacob would turn, perking up at the questions from the...lizard man? Man lizard? Maybe something else that wasn't called a lizard man?
He'd get to know whatever wasn't on earth's direct terminology later.
"Oh, that. I'm fine! Just showing off my skills. Nothing major." Jacob'd state, clearly not being entirely honest. Then again, who said he needed to mention his limitations?
"Guess I didn't get enough sleep this morning. So, er, excited to get here." He'd say, as he slumped back in his chair. He'd get a refill shortly.
"Name's Jacob. Yours?" He'd ask, with a nod.
Christian sat and ate his sandwiches at the end of the table. Peeking over on occasion to get a look at what other sorcerers were like. A nervous, anxious look.
At Jacob's showing of his power he kind of just stares for a bit. Mouth half-full of food for a moment before he finishes. "Woah.. That's. That's a really cool power. I'd love to teleport stuff around... Wait. I can pretend to do it at least." He smiles a little looking back down at his tray and sandwich focusing... Or trying to.
Everyone on the same table as Chris and Tasar would simply see him return to eating, then suddenly with a small flash, casually without even blinking, a cup of soda appears besides him. Anybody else would simply have seen him get up, get some soda, and sit down again taking the position to be eating.
He picks it up and takes a sip through a bendy straw, washing down the bites sandwich. Chris tries to subtly sneak a peak to see if anybody noticed. The college kid didn't want a scene on himself. At the same time he didn't want to seem like a loser.

Ava strides into the dining hall not long after Leona does, tapping her on the shoulder to get her attention.
"Hey, you!" she exclaims. "Glad I could find you. So listen, I'm still on the clock right now, but I just wanted to tell you about this awesome party this weekend. Every year, Alpha Chi Omega throws a big party before classes start to welcome in the freshmen, we call it disorientation. It's up to you if you wanna go, but I think you'd have a lot of fun there. So, what do you say?"
Across the dining hall, seemingly in response to Jacob showing off, another sorcerer seems to be displaying his powers. At a few points at various tables, tiny black orbs appear in the air, pulling in and absorbing food from various silver platters.
Then, a boy walking past Jacob snaps his fingers, and the orbs disappear, just as another, slightly larger orb appears in front of him, dropping the vanished food onto his empty plate.
The boy winks at Jacob with a smirk, before going to sit at another table.
At this table, Kevin, Chris, and/or Jacob may or may not recognize the icy boy from the subway, who immediately stands up and takes his bowl with him.
"Hey," he says, taking a seat next to Christian. "How are you holding up?"
Despite it being not that cold, the boy seems to be wearing gloves, probably to keep his latent powers from freezing over his Cookie Crisp.
A few people give Thistle some weird looks, but nothing compared to what he was getting on the train. Even so, it's pretty weird to be whittling wood at the dinner table.
she magnificent my bastard till i complete on her monsterTasar raises an eyebrow slightly as he notices Chris seemingly teleport a drink to his location, though he doesn't speak as he is still wolfing down his meal.
That doesn't seem very in line with "perception powers," unless it's just an illusion. I suppose he doesn't want to be left out, heh. Everyone's so busy showing off they're forgetting that they're not special. If anything, this is good for me: information is power after all.
Finally deciding to speak to the people he's seated next to, Tasar puts down his silverware for a moment and stretches, rolling his shoulders to work out the stress from having to carry his bags. When he opens his mouth, Tasar effects a deadpan remark.
"So, looks like everyone's got some cool powers, huh? What a surprise. Do you think they've got more than just magic to back it up?"
I need to update these things more oftenThistle raised an eyebrow. “I see. Well, nice to meet you. I’m Thistle.” He paused, looking thoughtful for a moment. “Well, technically my name is-” what followed was what could be described as ‘a series of raspy hisses and nails on a chalkboard-’ but most people can’t pronounce that.”
He ignored the odd looks he was getting, and started working on the curve of the top. As his father always said- “plenty of lizardfolk had gotten killed by Welgirins because they hadn’t finished a dinner project.” Ok, so it had sounded different than that, but the gist was the same.
“So, you get a letter right out of the blue too?” Thistle asked.
Wooze looks at Glass with a 'please take her away' look

"Yeah, that's pretty neat."
He turns to Daniel.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to exclude you." he said, turning back to the two sitting next to him. "I'm Kevin and this is my roommate, Daniel."
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone else
