On that note, watching speedruns has taught me that exploring one thing in a ridiculous amount of depth can have a fascinating result. It has taught me that it's possible to both compete and work together with the same people, and both can be fun.
What I have learned in Middle-earth: Shadow of War is that you should put down any orcs that betrayed you, or else you end up with a monster.

What I have learned from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor: no matter how strong they grow, knocking them down is piss easy. So there's that.
