I mean, its a pretty common experience to find you no longer like things that you watched as a kid. Tastes change. You'll never catch me watching Barney, Bobby's World or Angela Anaconda ever again, to name just a few examples and age myself properly.

I've had the "God why did I ever like this" reaction for plenty of stuff myself. I don't see that as an odd generalization to make myself either.
Maybe it's just me, but Bennett does lot of generalizations that I never felt applies to me and I feel alienated as result, so I tend to find them frustrating
(also I think everyone does experience feeling of not liking shows for reaaaaally young kids, but stuff aimed at teenagers? I tend to generally still understand why I liked those stuff and like them for what they are)

Anyway, on topic, I find this review's timing great as a few months ago I also went out to re-watch Big Guy and Rusty, and found myself pleasantly surprised by a show I had sort of forgotten. It's a great cartoon from that period that really doesn't get brought up much.
I also love the intro for some reason. The song is a real Ear Worm for me (It's what got me to seek out the show again)

Black Jack has always been one of those things I've intended to look in on, but never have.
Bennet looks at Gantz
If Mark Millar wrote a manga, this is what it would look like.
To an extent I agree with Sage on this one. Gantz is definitely an "Edgelord's first Mature anime" type of anime. Everyone being a horrible scuzz bucket, random blood and boobs, nihilism. No wonder I couldn't stand it as a teenager.
If you can't handle being outed by a signature, that's on you.The Manga is more balanced at least after the point where the anime ended.
Watch SymphogearThe ymmv said around nine volumes. I tried reading the manga and thought it was bullshit and stopped so I don't know.

The change cuts in around the point where the Gantz-0 movie is set. For instance, there's a really young kid on the team at that point. His death that landed him there was hard to read, but his story afterward turns out almost hopeful. He gets adopted by another Gantz member (he didn't know where he lived and his parents were beyond shitty (his dad killed him)) and holds his own the few times he has to.
I watched his review of Black Jack, and I don't remember seeing the anime before, but the review gave me major déja vu. Weird.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyBennett talks about My Hero Academia for ONT.
Space Travelers
Holy shit what the hell was that OVA...
I don't know, but RIP Frank.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?In other news, Gabe has underwent a change. (Warning: one of the pics is slightly NSFW.)
Just a person. He/him.I'm interested in what he has to say about Little Nemo. I loved that movie as a kid.
I wish her the best.

Sad to hear about what happened to the store. Hearing about losing business like that really is heartbreaking.
BTW, has anyone else noticed the Bennett has tendency to assume his personal experiences are universal experiences to everyone? ._.
Like in this case, I never really had experience of "How could I have liked this as a kid?" when it comes to kids shows ._. Even with the ones I don't like anymore due to them being for kindergarten age
Same way in first Oldtaku video he assumes that every anime fan will eventually become an Oldtaku without taking it account that anime industry might have changed so that "Otaku" as they previously existed no longer exists due to them not feeling like watching EVERY new anime show.
