I'm pretty sure none of those are what this thread means by "truly adult".
That said, the only animated series so far I've found myself actually able to enjoy that is aimed at an older audience is Marvel's What If?
My musician pageAccording to Deadline
, Illumination Entertainment is pursuing "beyond the kid-friendly fare that’s been its stock in trade" with a new label: Moonlight.
Moon most recently served as the head of adult animation at Netflix, a post he stepped down from in July to “pursue other opportunities.” His exit came as the streamer, battered by a swooning stock price, was laying off animators and dialing back its ambitions in the space. In addition to his new role as president of Moonlight, the company said that Moon will serve as a senior creative advisor to Illumination. Moonlight’s films will be distributed under Illumination’s distribution partnership with Universal Pictures. Illumination said the goal is for Moonlight to “produce animated films that push beyond the family genre.”
Moon started his career as an animation artist for 15 years. He then moved into executive roles at Sony, Disney and Cartoon Network. At those companies and at Netflix, Moon worked on such films as “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The Mitchells vs. The Machines” and “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.” Moon recently served as a producer on Netflix’s upcoming “Entergalactic,” a music streaming special from Kenya Barris and Kid Cudi.
Guess they really enjoyed working with Trey Parker and Seth MacFarlane.
"Everyone’s equal. Same chances of getting hit. Equal in the eyes of the rocket.”I like it. Moonlight, so illumination after dark.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the mid...

Okay, you know what? That was brilliant. And it's going to sound bizarre, but now I really hope this works out for all of us because it was that good.
Anyway, on to a different subject...
Anyone remember how Genndy Tartakovsky accidentally shared footage of Black Knight on his Instagram only to delete it?
Someone on Reddit actually captured that footage and gave me permission to share it with you guys. It's about a minute long, but it's just oozing of a grandiose aesthetic akin to Samurai Jack or Primal (minus the latter's bloodshed).

Thank you so much for sharing that long lost footage of the Instagram post. The Black Knight continues to look interesting.
A throw away line from Deadline
According to Animation World News
, an adult animated crime drama, adapting the indie comic Savage Town, is being produced by Lighthouse Studios.
Savage Town is loosely based on real events that took place in Ireland at the turn of the 21st century during one of the most pivotal points in the country’s history, a period of economic growth that transformed it from one of Western Europe’s poorer countries into one of its wealthiest. In this period, known as the Celtic Tiger, ordinary people suddenly had cash to spare, and with cash came opportunity. Savage Town follows one local gangster who sees an opportunity to make a major play to control the city but finds himself trapped between two rival gangs with the same intention.
“With ‘Savage Town,’ Declan, Philip and Jordie have created a compelling story that touches on societal themes that are relevant today the world over, including what happens to those that get left behind, the struggles of the working class, discrimination and gang violence,” commented Finn. “The graphic novel gives us a gritty backdrop to further develop the story and delve into the plot lines to create a binge-worthy adult animated series that will resonate with audiences around the globe.”
Fleming added, “Savage Town is an homage to a significant period in Ireland’s history. With rich characters and core storyline set amidst chaos and cultural change, I am thrilled to play an integral role in translating Declan’s artistic vision for the screen.”
Dragon Age absolution is going to come out soon:

That is another in a long line of adult animated shows based on video games. Some of them like Arcane and Castlevania are way better than they had any right to be and others like DOTA are decent.
Would people here think those shows are quality adult animation? Is animation the best medium to adapt video games to?
There's going to be a Dragon Age TV show now? ![]()
I really, really need to finish Origins, though. >.< ^_^;;

This might fall closer to "Young Adult" like Invincible or the revival seasons of Young Justice, but it's definitely worth showing of this upcoming animated series' teaser.

Amazon just announced they're doing another
adult animated series adaptation - this time based on the horror comic Wytches by famed modern comic writer Scott Snyder.
Snyder and Jock will both executive produce along with Plan B Entertainment, Project 51 Productions’ Kevin Kolde, and Amazon Studios.
“Driven by the pairing of Scott and Jock along with our partners at Plan B and Project 51 Productions, ‘Wytches’ fuses nail biting horror and evocative drama while unearthing the dark lore surrounding an ancient burrow of witches,” said, Melissa Wolfe, head of animation for Amazon Studios. “Given the haunting and intimate nature of Scott and Jock’s well regarded comic series, we are looking forward to delivering their creative vision to our global audience and expanding our growing roster of animated series.”
Wytches’ is possibly my most personal work,” Snyder said. “It’s all about the monsters that dwell beneath the surface of things, both literally and figuratively. I’ve been intimately involved with this animated series from the start, and I can honestly say that I love this show as much as the book, if not more. The animation brings the incredible art by Jock to life, and the episodic format expands the world of ‘Wytches,’ taking the characters and mythology to terrifying new places. Jock and I are deeply grateful to Plan B Entertainment, Kevin Kolde, and Amazon Studios for believing in ‘Wytches’ and giving us a chance to make this show dark, personal, twisted, and very special.”
It's generally promising that, despite AMC, Netflix, and Warner Bros. screwing their adult animation entries, Amazon hasn't given up producing their own yet. An extra bonus being it's not a tried and true sitcom either.

William Randolph Hearst, famously the basis for Citizen Kane and having engaged in his own Bezos-levels of infamy in his day was also a booster of Krazy Kat, sometimes you might at least have an amoral billionaire with good taste.

So, uh, what’s your favorite adult animated series?
I’d probably say South Park. Followed by Simpsons and Futurama.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
