Goddamnit, now I really wanna see Steve and Bucky's reaction to the 1980 Flash Gordon movie.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyGlad my joke could be of service, fellas.
Also: dRoy, that's the second Made Of Win moment you award me. Are you trying to seduce me, Mr. Roy?
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I choose to believe that the 60s Captain America cartoon was made by Stark Industries.
Upon finding out that Steve finds this cartoon embarrassing, Tony immediately puts it back into circulation.
My various fanfics.I want Bucky to watch all the James Bond films and just rag on it the entire time. "He's the worst spy I've ever seen."
My various fanfics.Meanwhile, Kingsman is Bucky's favorite movie ever.
And in this universe, the bad guy was played by Keith David.
My various fanfics.Tony immediately makes it his ringtone.
How exactly ended my observation about a deeper meaning of a seemingly simple line into this????
Plus, I actually think that Peter is lucky to NOT know about certain sequels and how certain franchises developed....on the other hand though, this guy missed out on some great music and some really impressive animation.
Wouldn't it be funny if the Guardians get their hands on Pocahontas? You know, the movie with the talking tree and the thieving Raccoon?

I still like the logic that Bucky did not have to yield to the shield because, as a consequence of being brainwashed, he never chose to oppose it.
That one was mine!
I'm serious. I wrote that in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier Fridge Brilliance page.
I'm quite proud of it. I also think I mentioned it somewhere on the original Winter Soldier thread first as well, but I could be wrong WHICH IS TOTALLY THE TRUTH.
<Secretly hopes no one beat him to that one>
I must have this. I must.
One Strip! One Strip!I avoid the Fridge pages like the plague since nobody seems to know what they're actually supposed to be - I've seen so many examples that are explicitly spelled out in the Work - so the thread's probably where I saw it. It's really clever.
- Fridge Horror: Wait, if Bob has to eat a child's soul every few months to stay alive and Bob's been around since the ancient Roman Empire then how many...oh...ohhh....
- Not Fridge Horror: Bob said he was going to take over the world and eat all the children's souls! Guys, if Bob hadn't been stopped, think about how many souls he might have eaten!
The stakes of the movie are not Fridge Anything! >.<

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Assuming you start from January of year 31 bce (The traditional date for the beginning of the Empire is that year, but I don't remember the exact month), and it's one soul a month (consumed the first day of the month): 24,569 souls.
1 2 We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be. -KVI just read through the Winter Soldier Fridge Brilliance page. One of the entries is about how when Fury & Steve have their elevator conversation, the story about Fury's grandfather isn't just two coworkers sharing family stories, it's actually Fury explaining his point of view and reasoning to Steve.
No fucking shit that's what the entire fucking scene is about; just how dense can people be?

@I Fwanderer: But aren't you using a modern date system which Bob wouldn't have had to calculate when he had to eat baby souls?
He'd have been using the Julian Calendar if he started in 31BC, which is roughly the modern calendar minus 11 days, so he would be on time for that many souls even if he keeps measuring by that Calendar instead of switching to the Gregorian one.
1 2 We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be. -KVMonths are derived from the lunar cycle, so it's a fairly easy calculation all things considered. People have been counting them since the Paleolithic age.
Regardless of how many months are in a given calendar, the length of a month is still more or less the same. All you would need to do is determine Bob's age under a given calendar and multiply.

Living sentient planet, plants seeds on other planets in order to turn them blue and assimilate them, has a humanoid representation, dies when the core blows up, complete with a side of cancer allegory.
