Adam Warlock
. Kinda surprised it was him, to be honest, since an Easter Egg in the prior Guardians film implied he was already un-cocooned.
Meanwhile my brother was like: "Black Adam's in the Marvel Universe?"
"It's beautiful!"
"So are you...on the inside."
It's not only a culmination of a Running Gag, but also a very nice subversion of what the audience expects.
I thought it was funny because she impatiently exclaimed that she didn't find him attractive either and he got indignant
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhile I did laugh at the Mary Poppins line, it was kinda spoiled for me by people bringing it up on the official Dragoncon Facebook page. As soon as I saw him gliding with the arrow I knew it was coming.
Even though it was mentioned previously in the dialogue, though, I still broke out laughing at the Pacman thing.
Just the quote, with no context of what it's from? No spoiler.
Quote with picture of Yondu? Spoils a joke, but doesn't make it less funny, and doesn't actually spoil anything in the movie.
I'm almost surprised that they didn't put the clip of him saying it in one of the trailers, but Disney films have been doing a good job of not spoiling everything in trailers in recent years. I do fully expect it to show up in commercials for the home release.

Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!think that I like the first movie just a little bit more. This is still really good though and there are some things that it does better than in the first film. The villain is better, the effects/visuals/action/etc are better, Gamora is used better, Nebula and especially Yondu are given more development as characters, etc.
But I feel like the jokes didn't land as consistently for me as they did in the first one, and there were too many of them at times. The pacing wasn't as good this time around and I was less forgiving of it's lack of a plot. I thought that they made Drax a bit too dumb and jokey this time around (although Dave Bautista still gives a good performance), Mantis is underused (although I did like her dynamic with Drax and I'm pretty sure that she's slated for the "surrogate daughter" slot moving forward, etc.
Basically if the first movie was an A, then this is a solid B/B+
And I didn't think that they could make a funeral scene in a Marvel movie that emotional, but boy did they manage to pull it off.
Yeah, I kinda preferred the "strong and silent type" Drax of the first movie more. Bautista did a good job with what he was given, but what he was given didn't really "click" with me, so to speak.
Going by the interviews, the increased comedy for Drax came about as a mutual decision between Bautista and Gunn both.
Bautista's a pretty funny guy, and his comic moments managed to land pretty consistently for me. There were jokes throughout the rest of the movie that could've worked, mostly sight gags following action scenes, that I think fell flat more because of timing, because they weren't given the space they needed. Beats, you know.

I watched this movie today. It was awesome. I cried at the end, but I find it that these days I'm crying at every other movie @_@
Some kid thought Howard the Duck was Uncle Scrooge. That made me chuckle.
Who was that Adam guy at the end of the movie?
