Silksong release in exactly 2 weeks from now... I still remember the last time I actively participated in anything Hollow Knight-related was on 2018 to 2019.
Well, gotta finish the single player games I'm currently playing right now, because I want to play this Day 1 as much as possible.
With Great Power, Comes Great MotivationThe longer development lasted, the more pressure Gibson and Pellen felt to ensure that everything was as fine-tuned as possible. They’d already spent four years on it — why would they rush now? The more time they spent polishing some parts, the more time they needed to apply it consistently across the rest.
“You’re always working on a new idea, new item, new area, new boss,” Pellen said. “That stuff’s so nice. It’s for the sake of just completing the game that we’re stopping. We could have kept going.”
The downside of this methodology was that it could have lasted forever.
“I remember at some point I just had to stop sketching,” Gibson said. “Because I went, ‘Everything I’m drawing here has to end up in the game. That’s a cool idea, that’s in. That’s a cool idea, that’s in.’ You realize, ‘If I don’t stop drawing, this is going to take 15 years to finish.’”
For all the speculation, all the worry and doomsaying, this entire time the crew was having the time of their lives making the game. And possibly a case of undiagnosed ADHD. That final line is hilarious, tho. Imagine, the dev time of this doubled
Holy shit. Two weeks!

, which is here
, the original HK apparently sold 15 million copies, which for an indie game is. A lot!
Seconding the rec. It's a great game.

Me makes three on recommending Hollow Knight, it's one of my favorite games of all time too.
But yeah, it goes without saying that this probably the most hyped I've been for a game in years and now finally, FINALLY, we have a concrete release date. And yeah, that's kind of relieving to hear that of all things is why this got pushed back again and again. If this game is even close to as good as the original, we've got another GOTY contender incoming.

I have completely forgotten the plot, all I remember is that there was a giant moth who was an asshole.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Don't expect any reviews unless said reviewer Kickstarted the game.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I might as well get Hollow Knight up and running on my Good Old Games account now that Silksong has a solid release date. Though, I'm not sure if my PS5 controller will work on it. I remember having an issue where the map and pause menus were't functional for some reason.

Hah, called it, Hollow Knight is 50% off. So if anyone wanted to get in before Silksong, now's the time.
My favorite part about the last few days is how HK's Steam statistics have been showing that it's been breaking its old records for most active players at a time basically every single day, since everyone is rushing to complete their save files and beat the game before launching into Silksong. I love the mental image of hundreds of thousands of vessels all speedrunning saving their kingdoms.
(I don't think I'll be able to finish my save file in time — I can probably knock out the last few bosses I need to over a day, but I don't think I'll also be able to beat the White Palace on top of that — so I may do the basic not-really-fixing-anything no-Voidheart ending and just work on hundred-percenting it more calmly once I work my way through the new game hype.)

They can do the funniest thing here and have the announcement that they're shadow dropping the game on that same day.
