You do realize that the character is supposed to have anxiety problems, right?
He does?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Well, that is what I understood based on his description in the official release:
"a closeted boy needs some form of control in his anxious life"
While it doesn't say that he has some sort of disorder, if he perceives his life as "anxious" and is in general "closeted" (which is pretty much what I got from the performance) it would make sense that he is kind of stiff.
Truth be told that sounds kind of open ended, but his acting still didn't register as anxiety for me, if that's what they were going for.
I don't know what I'm missing, I just saw some stiff acting. Maybe it'll be better in the show, I don't know, but both trailers have failed to amaze me.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I don't know that I'm amazed, but I'm game, at least. That he was anxious/reticent and didn't really want to be there in general was coming across for me.
I mean I don't even have high hopes here, and I still felt like the acting isn't good enough. I'm really not trying to be too harsh but I don't know what else I'm supposed to say, I just think his acting was stiff and awkward. If that's the point then maybe context will make it better.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I'm not amazed, but then, I rarely are. I just can say that I immediately connected to the characters and I really liked the set up for the scene and the dialogue within it. There was so much which wasn't told but shown, which was really refreshing after Runaways kept forgetting that you don't have to spell out everything.
I have a really good feeling about the show.
New promo
Still looks good...honestly, I have a better feeling about this one than I had about runaways.
So at least five people on Twitter like this show enough to post about it on Twitter.
Things bode well.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Well, what I said about Jessica Jones is here doubly true. Good or bad, you can't really judge a show just based on the pilot episode (unless said pilot episode is really, really bad). But good that it looks promising.
Ooh, it's promising. I did not like the trailer much, but I watched a scene, and it looked much better - and better played too.
According to Wikipedia, the pilot will be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood who is supposed to be directing that Black Cat/Silver Sable movie. Even if the movie never comes to reality, the positive reaction shows the film is/was in good hands.
New trailer
Cloak's powers definitely look better. Little worried that the narration implies that they're trying to do a big epic thing about destiny and whatnot, but we'll see.

Huh. I kinda liked that trailer.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Looks cool.
Stupid question, but is Freeform "free" with regular cable, or is it something like Hulu/Netflix where you need a subscription?
If you have any of the Disney-owned cable channels (such as Disney Channel, ESPN, Disney Junior), then you should be able to get the Freeform channel in that bundle.

Oh my goodness finally a reason to have Disney Channel
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I just took a look at Dagger's original costume and ho ho ho god-damn.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Okay....sounds a little bit generic.
It just felt really wooden in both trailers. I've not been impressed by the acting they've shown from the leads yet, Cloak just felt more wooden in the recent footage than Dagger did.
