ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

"Not really, I don't mind."

Finley sighs, choosing to look dead ahead. "I'm really sorry, if I've been really... I guess protective and bitchy and all that. Ya know, me freaking out every time someone threatens to scratch. I just don't want anyone to be hurt, you know? Seeing what happened to Jani didn't really help me either."

Andy turned to Finley. "I don't think that's bitchy. Everyone's too rude nowadays. We could use more people like you."

Mila nods in silence, thinking about how to respond. After coming up with a suitable response, she turns around and stops walking for a moment to get her point across.

"I think I understand why you don't want us to fight, and it's not easy when it's one of the few options we have. Do you think you'd be more okay with it if we plan for what's going to happen beforehand? I can barely accept it either when we're the ones picking the battles, but if we have to defend ourselves it's sometimes the best option."

I remain silent. I can't mock that in my usual manner, otherwise the others'll just be on my ass about it. Unfortunately, mocking is the only thing I can do.

Finley smiles a bit from what Andy says, "Thanks," and listens to Mila.

"I suppose. It's just... you're right, I guess I should probably fight every once in awhile. I wouldn't want to be a deadweight here. At least until we can find a better option..."

Sighing again, she points at what looks like a deli. "Does that place work?"

Andy looked at it. "How about we but from it, but eat just somewhere... natural?"

"Oh, great… what did you have in mind?" I mutter, slightly annoyed.

"I'm glad you asked, Nyquil! Howzabout a nice hill?"

Dana stays silent. She hadn't been around for any of the fights but the one with that Delcatty, and she was to blame for Jani getting so injured anyway..

She snaps back to reality when Finley asks about the deli. "Huh? Oh, that sounds fine.."

Time to play catch-up and emergency rewrite. I learned my lesson: Never sleep.

*all this time, Voxno-V had been discretely helping vjoi and Wohm against the gang of corrupted pokemon, just barely managing to avoid becoming corrupted itself. It managed to get a few hidden powers off, each of a different type — psychic for Unown-V, electric for Unown-!, and fire for Unown-K...its angry, but not evil form. Through sheer strength of will, it managed to avoid shifting to Unown-W...a true sight to behold*

*Satisfied that the corrupted group lost its luster, it made haste to catch up with the group that left the hospital, in its excitable Unown-! form◊*

Hey you guys!! Wohm and that crazy Charizard managed to beat up the bad guys! Amazing, huh?! I think we're in the clear!

*meanwhile, an unknown presence thinks to itself*    (Those creatures make a mess in MY house while I'm away, do they? For all the suffering their kind had brought me in life, I'll show what happens to interlopers who enforce the status quo!)   

*a presence◊ is briefly visible atop the Chansey at the hospital reception* What...what is this...ugh...! *her eyes go white and hollow, a    dark aura    surrounds her, and lets out a* HEEEEIYAAAA! *she lifts her desk well into the air, which hits the ceiling and crashes into the ground. unfazed, she casually walks out of the hospital, with all NPCs around her aghast at the sight of the spectacle (and any player characters in the hospital should notice)*

*she then barrels down the boardwalk, knocking every NPC mon down that gets in her way*

   YOU WON'T GET AWAY THAT EASILY!!!    *she yells, in earshot of the outside group*

One of the city's contingent of Electabuzz cops attempts to stand in the rampaging Chansey's path, his arms outstretched and crackling with electricity. "STOP, in the name of the law!" he yells. His effort is all for naught, however, as he is rather anticlimactically knocked out of her path like a bowling pin. One of his colleagues, who was just emerging from a nearby cafe, caught sight of this and wisely ran off to find backup. "Officer down! For Zapdos' sakes, where the hell are those psychic dispatchers when you need 'em?!"

"Uh, guys? I hear something.."

(The sudden smashing noise wakes me up, and I look up just in time to see the Chansey from the reception desk swaggering out the door.)

Huh?

(I follow her out the door and look to see her pushing around every Pokémon she passes by.)

Oh no... (I say. I run out to find the others.)

(Meanwhile, Marsha is walking back to the beach after getting something to eat and sees the Chansey walking up to her.)

Hey, girl, you oka-

(The Chansey pushes Marsha down as she makes the beeline for the group and steps on the sandwich she was carrying.)

Hey! What is your problem?! Ugh. I can never finish a good sandwich around here.

(I run up to her.)

Hey, Marsha, did you see a really angry Chansey pass by here?

Yeah, she ruined my dinner for no reason. She's heading for the deli over there. Hey, isn't that your friends over there, too?

(I look and see that everyone is indeed outside of the deli, and the Chansey is heading right for them.)

Guys! Look out! I think she's... (I try not to mention the hate plague in front of Marsha or anyone else) got it! (I run to catch up with everyone else, trying to avoid the Chansey as I do.)

"What the hell is THAT?!?"

*at this point, panic is starting to erupt in the streets. the dark aura is spreading down the path our infected (and possessed) Chansey took, and a v.e.r.y gradually thickening miasma is spreading above the town. most of the townsfolk are unaffected, but enough adopt an "everymon for themself" attitude that innocents start getting trampled*

*catching up with the group, the Chansey fires a warning Shadow Ball, yes — a ghost type move — ahead of the party to halt their progress. it explodes ahead of them, catching an NPC mother in its radius and sending her flying like a bowling ball into the crowds ahead*

*the Chansey, clearly possessed, speaks in a manner not unlike the girl from The Exorcist*    This town is mine! This cesspit of corruption will pay for what it has done, and so will you for maintaining the status quo!   

*Voxno, still in Voxno-! form, ditzily says*

Dear Arceus! This is some freaky deaky stuff!! Don't hurt her, she's the nice receptionist from the hospital!

Cyk wakes up from her nap. Noticing the Chansey, Cyk decides to hit her with a Psyshock.

Wohm curses as he gets up, deciding to pursue for now.

"I'll try, Vox!" I say as my arm powers up.

(The explosion of the Shadow Ball makes me lose my balance and fall down onto a table.)

What in blazes is going on?! What's wrong with her?? (Marsha asks as she runs over to the mother Pokémon to make sure she's okay.)

We'll explain later! Just try to get people away from here!

(Marsha grumbles under her breath about not knowing what's going on, but nevertheless follows my directions.) Hey! You heard him! Everyone get away from here! Move it, people! Move it! (Other Pokémon join in on helping her get others away from the angry Chansey.)

Cyk tries to help the Goodra up, after running to him.

"I hope you're okay...."

*aside from Chansey's own innate defense against Psyshock, whatever is possessing her is also lending significantly to her defenses on both fronts. barely affected, the hollow eyed Chansey stares down Cyk and uses a STAB, yes STAB, Shadow Sneak on Cyk*

   Fool.   

*shifting to Unown-! form◊ while witnessing the impossible, Voxno makes an observation*

I can only surmise that this unfortunate woman has been possessed by a ghost. Such an event is very near unprecedented... *perhaps caught up in its nerdy fascination, it starts jotting down notes of the encounter thus far*

I fire off a psychic at the Chansey.

"Are you okay Goobert?!?"

Oh, thanks Cyk.

(Suddenly, I notice something shadowy creeping up behind her.)

LOOK OUT! (I yell, grabbing her out of the way, but the Shadow Sneak hits us both.)

Oof... (I mutter, staggering dazedly away.)
