ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

*Voxno shifts to Unown-V form◊ to get its bearings, and once again leads the group* Silversand Town is about five hours this way.

((timeskip time! we had a vote, plus we don't wanna get stuck on stairs again))

*The party reaches the resort town of Silversand Town. The streets are bustling with tourists and the boardwalk is packed with a wide variety of stores and entertainment venues. The road put us on the south side of town, where the passenger docks and tourist traps mostly reside. To the north are the lower-class residential district, the warehouse district, and the freight docks. As for specifics, it's kind of a free-for-all within those parameters. ;)*

*in V form, Voxno states*

We have arrived at Silversand Town. We will be investigating the northern part of the city, but I am first required to check in with the guild upon arrival, which can be found on the Boardwalk. You are welcome to accompany me there, or you may peruse the various venues instead.

I look around the place, amazed at what I see.

"Wow, wow, wow! This place looks everything like Voxno described!"

"This place really is kinda pretty. Hey, I know we should be doing a job, but... you guys wanna explore?"

Mila looks out towards the ocean, still somewhat worried by the idea of that much water as an Electric-type herself. Turning back to the Unown, she follows him closely.

"I guess I'll go with you. If we're going to be working with the guild around here, it'd be a good idea to get to know them and for them to know us, right? Plus, well, I think I want to stay away from the ocean for now. By the way, do you have a place to stay, or do we need to find our own? I'm guessing there's no mansion we can crash at like before..."

Mila drifts off as she begins thinking about the economics of this world, but promptly decides that she has too little information to go off of. She's mostly just glad that there are others willing to support them.

"We're here, so why not do a little bit of fun first? At least before we get to business."

(My jaw drops at how nice this town looks. The sand really does look silver-y, and the various buildings I see look well put together. I wouldn't mind taking a dip in the ocean before getting down to business.)

The guild has simple lodgings reserved for members on away missions. All necessary expenses are covered by the guild, but this does not extend to things like park attractions or gift shop items.

*realizing its uncharacteristic omission earlier, it states* I neglected to mention earlier, but the guild offers a nominal stipend even to acting members upon completion of a mission.

Mila turns around quickly at that familiar voice, and notices Koss coming up to the group from the beach, presumably having come from surfing given the fact that he's still somewhat dripping wet. He quickly clambers up to the boardwalk, and looks to Voxno with a more formal attitude.

So, what're ya here for? I might's well guess it's about the problem up north, but I'd hate ta get ahead a myself. 'Specially if these guys are involved. If yer' off ta HQ, I can stick aroun' for a while. I've been meanin' ta bring in my report fer a while now.

I see the Alolan Raichu and make my way towards him.

"You're...Koss, aren't you? Name's Marlon, I joined the group just this morning."

Koss sighs, and his expression grows a bit heavier.

Well, I jus' wish I had more ta work with. I've been gatherin' up all the different things I can think a' ta cure it, but without enough subjects all I've got is guesswork. Doesn't help that they've all been fightin' each other till they're hangin' ta life with the skin a' their teeth, neither. Sorry fer that, it's been weighin' on me fer a while.

Koss looks back to the party, and puts on his best smile as he tries to pick out the new ones.

Well, ain't this a surprise? Y'all seem ta have picked up some new folks along the way. It'll be nice ta meet y'all when I get the chance. The name's Koss, by the by.

I turn again to Koss after a brief distraction.

"Koss, we will figure this thing out, somehow."

Kossy here is one of our best researchers! Our guild is waaaaay more than just about muscle, we need brainy naturalists like Kossy to help find a cure for the plague!

Koss begins down the boardwalk, and Mila follows him cautiously, checking behind her to see if the rest of the group is following. She's somewhat glad to see him back, but the mood he was in regarding the plague did little to reassure her of their position in the greater scheme of things. Nevertheless, the least they could do was try to help. It wasn't like running away was an option, especially if it struck one of the group. Mila shuddered at that possibility. If they had been called here for this reason, that'd be one hell of a call to adventure. She hoped it wasn't necessary.

I call to the group.

"Alright, every main character come with us, we're going to advance this plot."

Noriaki bows slightly to Koss.

"Well met, Koss.", he said with a smile, "I'm Noriaki. I've only arrived here rather recently."

He follows Koss's lead.

I do not know how recently you have been to Orichalcum, but the influence of the plague has become much stronger as of late. We believe that the nearby village of Milklett is entirely lost, and certain criminal elements seem to be rising in the outskirts of the town. I fear that our barrier defenses may no longer be sufficient to protect the town.

"Visitors... They look tough. No matter. They won't need to bother me." He says, staring.

(I join everyone else. I feel that I don't need to introduce myself to Koss, as I've seen him before, but regardless, I do.)

Hi, Koss. I don't know if you remember me, but I'm Goobert.

(I look at the beach as we approach. The beach is packed with Pokémon of all sorts of different species. Some are swimming or wading in the ocean while others are playing or sleeping on the sand. I notice a tall chair where who I assume must be the lifeguard is sitting. Upon closer inspection, I see that they are a Swampert. I really want to go swimming, but I'm not sure if we really have the time.)

Well, now ain't this a welcome! Yer' warming this Raichu's heart. I've been well, I actually left fer Silversands not long after ya asked me ta help Mila that second time. Speakin' of which, looks like she's doin' better now. It's always refreshin' ta see a patient get better without complications. I s'pose y'all will want ta take a break from all this travel, though, if y'all came here with Vox. After we meet with the head honcho, there should still be enough time ta check out the town, an' see the sights. It's always better ta tackle problems after a good night's rest, after all. Anyways, that's enough from me fer a while, why don't ya fill me in on what y'all want outta this trip?

Koss chuckles after he notices how long he's been going on, and quickly diverts the focus back onto the others. However, once he hears what Voxno has to say, he slows his walk as he takes in the information to process it better. Rather than respond out loud and ruin the moment, he sends a telepathic response to Voxno.

Well, that's not good ta hear at all, though I s'pose it's ta be expected. When ya get a chance, why don't ya suggest ta Morbie that they might want ta start stockin' up on the supplies. It may be just my own worries, but closin' off all contact may just save some a' the ones on this island. We've been lettin' traders in still, but I don't know if we can sustain that fer much longer, ya hear?
