Seth, who until this point had been hanging back to allow those who knew the fire-thing to reconnect with him in peace, pricks his ears up at the sudden talk of royalty.

"Wait, wait, hold on a minute. This place has royalty? And you know them?"

"Well, yes" Noriaki said to Seth. "Foxfell is a kingdom, after all. We just happened to be allies with this kingdom's princess for a while."

(I added to Nori's statement.) We've done a favor for them and they've helped us out.

And in a sense we still are allied with her now. For lack of a better word, though, she isn't very keen on fighting in the same way most of us are.

We should still be, right? Even if I have grown to kinda not like her, in a way, partially because of this. She is justified in own her relative dislike of me, of course, considering how we nearly came to blows over this..twice. Once even nearly involved her slicing my chest open. Speaking of which...

Yo, Niles! Perchance would there be a doctor up in the castle?

"Thank you." I tell our guide. "You said you wanted to speak with them, right, Milady?"

"I did state that fact." Aria responded to my question.

"A doctor there be, my dude!" I answer Marlon's question as I continue leading everyone.
Eventually, we reach the palace. It's probably pretty obvious since it's a giant building with more guards in front of it. I spin around to face the group and gesture to the structure like a cheesy car salesman.
"Well, ladies and gentlemen, we have reached our destination!"

Oh, thank goodness, the doctor is in fact in! And with a connection to the royalty I'm sure they'd be able to properly assess my leg and get me the real help that I'd so desperately needed for the longest time. With a renewed sense of hope I start to continue ahead but with the guards up front obviously we need our guide.

Well, come on, then! Let's get in there! You can get us clear, right?

(Delilah and I move to go into the castle. I find myself hoping that Autumn (or Eliot if he's in there) aren't going to be too sore at me about the messes I got myself into while away from everyone else.)

Seth can't help but crack a faraway smile.

"Well then! I suppose I'm an associate of royalty now! Say, just for the record, is this like the monarchy where I'm from and they don't hold a drop of real power? Or are we on that full-blown medieval authoritarian shit?"

(Looks like the place hasn't changed much. Good thing too. I responded to Seth's question.) If I had to guess, then I would say the latter. But I'm not too well-versed in politics, so yours guess is as good as mine.

"It would be the latter, if the now-fallen kingdom of Asguardia is any thing to go by. I add to the conversation.

(And being a former baron myself.)

"Ah, I never tire of the sight of extravagant royal dwellings like this" said Noriaki. He took a moment to respond to Seth as well.

"I would say the latter, although I assure you that the Farbridges are just rulers with kind hearts."

"It still is startling, just a bit" Hikari commented, "I've never been so close to actual monarchs. L'Arachel was the highest ranking noble I knew, and she was just an uprising Countess."

That name sounds funny. Braixen looks at the trio of conversing pokemon as they walk.

"What's L'Arachel?"

I hear this Braixen ask about L'Arachel, and naturally the bad memories briefly get hedged up. Soten, my mega stone, my leg....no, not thinking on that again.

Well, the only thing I can say is that it's good you never had to meet her yourself.

I turn and look back up tear the castle and the guards.

Uh...hey, can you let us through? We got business with the Farbridges!

At the outer gates, a pair of Houndoom stand guard in standard Foxfellian attire, though their slouched posture and delay in responding does not bode well for their attention to the present matter. After a second of silence, however, the guard to the left does focus his gaze on Marlon and offer a response as he gazes down his snout at the gaggle of mons before him.

"Royal business? The public hearings are done for the day."

At this point the guard on the right has noticed the group as well, though she takes some time to examine them more closely before turning to her companion and admonishing him.

"Hey, aren't these the same group that helped deal with Anastasia before? Shouldn't we just let them in?"

"Are you sure? If they had business with the monarchs, we'd be told of their arrival wouldn't we?"

"(What if we were? I know you don't listen to the briefings.)"

As the male Houndoom considers this last whispered statement, his eyes end up falling on Nyquil. Recognizing that the Quilava is also part of the royal heirarchy, he calls out with renewed confidence in his voice as he spots a way to finish the discussion.

"Hey, you're guiding them, aren't you? Do they have permission to enter the Farbridge's palace?"

A certain Alolapix who will probably be familiar to some of the others is taking a leisurely stroll just beyond the gates. She continues a little ways beyond the group, before stopping, backing up, and staring at them.

"Oh, hey guys!"

… Well, shit, I dunno. I'm not exactly royalty.
"… Yyyes."

I'm just confused by this point. Wouldn't Autumn have informed them of anything she might have said to her parents about what we were up to, and when we would've been back here? I want to say something but can't exactly find much to say. When Niles gives the okay for us to come in I begin to move up, continuing to speak with the guards.

You all wouldn't mind if I paid a visit to the doctor you have on call, would you?

(Oh hey, it’s Dana! I instinctively give her a small friendly wave when she greets us as we walk in. Not having much I feel like I can add, I then simply wait for the Houndoom guards to respond to us. Marsha and Delilah seem to be waiting for them to respond as well at this point because I don’t hear them say anything to the guards at the moment either.)

"You'd... have to ask the Farbridges about that. We don't make those decisions."

After responding to Marlon's request, the guards take note of Nyquil's answer and move to the sides of the gate, pulling at either end to swing the bars open and allow the group passage to the castle itself. Mila doesn't seem to be around the front yard for the moment, nor Autumn, though it's far from empty with a variety of guards, gardeners, and other staff making their way through the area.

"Please enjoy your visit."

"So, shall we?" I say, looking at everyone with a cheeky grin. And then, I saw her face.

Fuck.

Shiiiit, I'm in uniform and everything. The earlier feeling of embarrassment returns with a vengeance. I stand there, frozen with that same, stupid smile on my face.

Very well..I'll be sure to do that first thing once we get in there.

And as so I resume the climb inside of the castle. It's been forever since we have been here, and it feels so good to be back. However...

(A few days ago we jumped out of an island on the verge of being ruined and now, we're back from another island with the same problem. Only difference is that the latter's starting to get back on its feet while the former's pretty much staying down. This place's almost like a home base, like our version of the SHIELD Helicarrier. Well, no use mulling about our situation. I nod at the Vulpix as she approaches us.) How have you been?

"Oh, Dana, it's been too long!" Noriaki called to the Alolan Vulpix, giving a small wave. "We were just about to head inside the castle."

By his side, Hikari also offered a small wave.

Dana waves back to the ones who waved at her.

"I've been pretty good! Staying here's been pretty nice, though that might just be because I'm somewhat of a special guest." She laughs awkwardly.

"But aaaanyway, how'd your guys' trip go?"

Looking around the group, she spots Nyquil with the weird smile on his face. "Uh, you okay Niles?"
