"Autumn, do you know... do you know what happened last night?"
Now that Mila is talking, Autumn moves off to the side, letting go of the Raichu and sitting down beside her so that she doesn't have to look straight up to face towards her. She's frustrated, of course, but more than that she's worried for what will happen between them, and for the fact that she doesn't know how to proceed. Everyone feels so distant, and so different, that it's almost forcing herself to wonder if she's been the one to change.
"Besides our argument, you mean?"
"I don't, I just tried to sleep it off... what does that have to do with this, though?"
"Well, I... look in my bag, would you? You should find a piece of rock, tell me if you recognize it."
"Mila, what does this—?"
"Please, just let me explain."
With a dubious glance towards Mila, Autumn pulls up her bag and pushes aside its contents until she finds a narrow, ragged piece of stone that's surprisingly lightweight and sandy in color. She hefts it in her paw for a moment, trying to think on what it might be.
"Mila, I'm not exactly trained in geology..."
"Right, well, that's a fulgurite. It happens when lightning strikes the ground. I... I made that, when I..."
"... I wasn't trying to hit the sand."
"Then who? ... Mila, no. No, no no no no. Please, you didn't—"
"I tried but I couldn't and after that I just couldn't make myself stop any more I was too afraid of going back to that place and I thought if I could just keep moving I'd escape it and maybe if I fought I wouldn't be scared any more but it's not working Autumn it's not working and I don't know what to do—"
Wordlessly, Autumn returns the stone to Mila's bag and hefts the Raichu up once more, grabbing her tight around the waist and refusing to let go. There's no anger left in her actions, not an ounce of malice that can withstand the fear and concern that's overwhelming her in this moment. For her part, Mila doesn't resist, not that she has much choice at the moment. She lets her emotions come through, the terror she'd been trying to escape the whole day allowed to be known, and though she knows she can't get rid of it, at least she can process it.
Why was I worried for what'd happen between us? I knew she means too much to me to let anything separate us.
Why didn't I let her help sooner? I made this worse for us both.
"Oh! Eliot... hmm. That ain't soundin' good. Looks like ah won't be gettin' any sleep between her, Marlon, an' you. Ah jus' hope we're prepared fer all the issues the others might be havin'."
Koss' brow furrows, but as he looks over to where he'd last spotted Mila, he shrinks back a bit as he realizes that she and the Braixen seem to be sharing a private moment. He looks back to Eliot, examining the currently-Salazzle's features to get a bead on his emotional state.
"Ah think we should give 'em time ta themselves. Why don't ya come downstairs wit' us?"
Sally doesn't move as she's set down, though with her shell still closed it's impossible to tell why she's acting the way she is, whether it be sulking, crying, or just being too exhausted to make any more fuss.
Sure thing, Marlon. Hang tight! (Dodie lumbers out of the room and begins to head toward the front entrance to the manor.)
Mamá and my brothers and sister and I live in Holstown but we spend most of our time helping Uncle Poco out at his store in Narcia. (Anthony replies to Marlon. He noticeably keeps glancing down at Marlon's dinged-up leg as he speaks.) We were all there when the bad Vespiquen lady came through...
It really is quite sad... (Gene says as Bombax is hauled off.) To think that he may very well end up that way for the rest of his life if he refuses any and all help...
Yeah. (Cole says, giving Zelgius a thumbs-up.) Not sure where the three of us will be after this, but we'll let you know as soon as we can.
(He holds out his claw for a handshake.) Take care out there, all right?
Do you think they're all still there waiting for you? They have to be, right?
I can't help but notice Anthony continuing to look down toward my leg.
I uh...consider yourself lucky you don't have legs. This is probably the worst thing I can have happen to me.
I cut myself off from saying much more. Remember, not exactly wanting to randomly reveal my status as ex-human. At least I still have two legs...
Tiago gives a sheepish look. "Desculpe, Belinha..." * Sorry, Izzy...
And then looks at the collapsed Norwood. "Eu posso o levar, se vocęs precisam isto."* I can carry him, if you need me to.
Dieter looks at what happened, feeling that something's... off, but aren't sure what.
Dana simply says "It's nothing," and manages to drag Nyquil out of the foyer.
They're probably at Uncle Poco's shop. We usually stay there 'til he closes at bedtime. (Anthony says.)
(At Marlon's last comment, Anthony looks down at his pinecone-like body. Indeed he probably won't ever have worry about breaking a leg or arm. A spike as a Forretress, maybe, but not an arm or leg.) I guess so, um, sorry...
(Dodie begins heading out of the front door. Marsha spots her with Marlon on her back and waves at her.)
Want me to go towards Marsha? (Dodie asks Marlon.)
Okay, Tiago. (Mia says. She turns to the Taylors. ) You guys okay with that?
Hey, it's okay. I'm just not very happy that's this happened...but at least we did it.
I look in front of me and see Marsha wave us down. Phew.
Yeah, take me over to her...and by the way, I really don't know about us trying to travel all the way back to Becchel tonight with my leg this bad.
Tiff remains on lookout until the Taylors decide what to do.
(A thought occurred to me.) Wait a minute, are we really in a position to move? I mean, how long did it take to go from that town to here? Plus, plenty of us are banged up from those fights.
(Eliza looked at the manor.) A place this big surely must house plenty of us. I think I'll rest over here. Provided the old mon would let me.
(Arsene looked at the sun sinking into the horizon. He started to think about all the time they've spent on this island. What was supposed to be a simple extraction mission really spiraled into this. They're really pushing it.) Fine, but the first thing in the morning, we're going back.
(Eliza nodded.) I understand. After all, I've got a job to do and this little vacation went too long.
(The Aegislash noted to the former vassals.) What of the Pokémon? Do we have enough room for them?
"You...you sure?" [I look back to them...as much as I want to help them sort their spat out, maybe it...] "Hnn..." [...fine. I'll let them be.]
"...I think...actually, there's a kitchen on the way here." [I grip my stomach as it growls, realizing this is about the first time I've thought about food all day.]
For now, the Ralts turns away from the two, going back to corral the others.
Woodruff sighs as Kevin begins to walk off before turning back to his parents.
Lyman's head hangs low, at once still reflecting on his share of the blame for their house's destruction and trying to consider their options. "...well...there's your friend, Pauline. We could stay with her." Woodruff's eyes light up when he realizes who his father's talking about. His breathing grows a little louder, more frantic...his mother is the first to notice.
"Sweetie..." Pauline's frustration dulls as she sees Woodruff becoming stressed, worried for her son. "Sweetie, what's wrong? She moves closer towards him, moving beside Lyman as he too looks up.
"Ahh, come onnnnn, princess," Yasuhiro interjects. "You don't have to go back so soon..." He shrugs his claws. "You look tired, stressed...this whole rigmarole we've all been through...why not kick back here for a couple more days?" Of course, if she can kick back for a couple more days, he'd naturally be able to as well.
"Oh, of course, meu amigo!" Taylor A relaxes a little, finding it awfully nice that she doesn't have to restrain the suspect, nor would she have to carry him around. She unravels the vines from around Norwood and places her hands on her hips.
"And of course we're gonna wake him up back at the station! As dangerous a guy like him is, a murderer! He's better to us unconscious or caged up, and I don't see no cages around here!"
Taylor B gets the door because of course he does. "Y-yea, it's b-better we have s-some sort of b-barrier between h-him and us..." At this point, Taylor B's just glad this was taken care of without any trouble, though he's still ever cautious of any cohorts coming around the corner.
As Dana helps me out of the manor, I turn my head to see that... no one else is around? (Hold on, are they staying inside that place?) Well, I suppose it made sense. Easy access to actual beds and stuff. But still, I have my own feelings towards the building in question. "... Hey, I don't think anyone else is heading out yet, but, uh... would you mind spending the night out here? I'm... a little uneasy about staying in there for another night, even if I do have my own room." A room I ended up not wanting in the slightest. "A-And well, I could make a campfire for us and stuff..." (... This is probably sounding real stupid to her, isn't it? I mean, it's free real estate.)
(Dodie notes that everyone seems to be talking about staying here overnight.) Y' know, if I didn't know any better, I'd say they're all talking about staying here the night anyway. Makes sense, I guess. Everyone's exhausted.
I hope Mamá and Uncle Poco don't get too worried about me not being home tonight... (Anthony says.)
(Dodie heads over to Marsha anyway.)
Dair you ares, Marly! (Marsha says.) Gosh, your leg still looks nasty...ggh...
(My request for help getting Sally some food seems to have gotten lost in the rush of everything going on. I suppose I'll have to figure something else out myself. Maybe there's something inside? I really don't want to go back in that horrible manor, but I also don't want Sally to end up ill. Besides, I now realize that I'm quite hungry myself. I suppose I'll have to swallow my fears again and head back in.)
(I pick Sally up and begin to move back into the manor.)
Well, matey, if ye'll heft Norwood up, I guess we'll be headin' back over to th' station t' git some answers. (Rich tells Tiago.)
"Sure, ah s'pose we'll all need ta eat 'fter this."
Koss starts walking back inside the manor, looking behind him to see if Eliot is following. He does his best to put up a facade of energy, but after a bit of travel his shoulders begin to slouch, and his tail begins dragging on the ground behind him.
"Look, ah'll be honest here. Ah want ta help ya wit' yer troubles too, but after all this ah jus' want ta be able ta sleep. Ya willin' ta let me have that 'fore ah do any more work?"
Mila almost loses herself in the fear washing through her, but both metaphorically and physically she finds herself hanging on to the touch of Autumn's fur. For a moment, that's all she can process; the sense telling her of the chilling breeze against her back, the warmth in Autumn's grasp, and the stickiness of the stone underneath her (is that blood?). Time feels like a mystery, but after enough eons her hearing returns as well, informing her about the sniffling from both herself and Autumn that manages to cut through a deafening chatter of crowds. Though she can't yet process her sight as much as she knows she's still seeing, the drops on her fur tell her she's still crying.
Mila barely recognizes the word Autumn's repeating, over and over. But instead of a reply, she just shakes her head. This isn't the time. But there will be time— there has to be. She feels weak, as weak she she's felt since they came here, even after all she's done to try to be powerful. When Autumn tries to lift her up, Mila makes no sign of protest, hoping only that there will be some place safe for them to go.
"We're— hhgh— finding somewhere to sleep... you're not leaving my sight."

Getting brought back to Marsha makes me feel the most relieved I've felt in a long time. But there are much bigger problems at hand. If I was back home and this happened chopping the leg off would've been an option. The fact that a healer is an actual effective option speaks tons to just how different this world actually functions.
Well, that much is obvious. I seriously need a bed, and a healer, because I'm in so much pain right now it's not even funny.
I reach out my hand to try and grab hold of Marsha, to feel her, to...finally have a sense of security in my lover helping me through this.
Meanwhile, Kevin decides to stick to his word and leave Woodruff alone with his family, and makes it to the others, where he's caught rather off guard by learning about the plans for tonight.
...We're staying the night here?
You and us both, big guy. My family needs to see this asshole get his comeuppance...
Tiff wanders her way over to Izabel whilst waiting for the procession back to the Police Station.
Sis...you're part Grass Type now. Would ya want me to help you relearn things now?
(Marsha takes Marlon's hand.) We'll get yas ta dem, Marly. Where's Nori's girlfriend?
I think she's over there unless that's some other Aromatisse. (Dodie says, motioning to her.)
Oh, gotchas. (Marsha says. She turns to Anthony.) Hey, Pineco kid, can ya see if she can come ovah heres ta help Marly out?
Uh, okay... (Anthony hops off of Dodie and hops over to where Nori and the others are.)
Um, ma'am? Ma'am? (He lightly nudges Hikari.)
(Now I have to think of where the kitchen might be...I briefly pass through the foyer, taking care to avoid falling into the gaping hole that's still there, and end up finding Woodruff and his parents. They still seem to be busy talking with each other, so I quietly pass them by into the hallway without trying to interrupt them.)
(Izabel looks down at herself with a bit of a pained expression on her face and shrugs. She does realize that she can now learn Grass-type moves like her Cacturne sister, but she's still very apprehensive about being a Trevenant at all. Still though, she may as well try to learn these kinds of moves at some point. She did always find Grass-type moves fascinating, after all.) When this is all over, I suppose...
Zelgius accepts the clawshake.
"... I guess we could stay a bit longer, I've already been missing a while", Yukari sighed, "I'm not exactly too excited to see my family again, anyway."
"Guess I'll stay too, then", said Zelgius, "I'd say I'm the best way you two can get back to Shinrin without breaking too much news."
Noriaki turns his head as he hears talk of going into the manor for the night.
"I-In there? But... No, it does make sense", he muttered, "Whatever may prevent me from resting there is not an actual active limitation, and as such I should cast it aside."
"We will have to use it as a temporary living space for a time anyhow..."
"I do wish to be able to leave this place behind and see more of what awaits outside, but we have masses in need of rest now", said Hikari before looking down to the Pineco, "Yes, child?"
Hector whispers to Achilles, "I'm pretty exhausted and I KNOW I saw you get pretty roughed up back there, I'd say we take a leaf out of these guys' books and just get some rest here ASAP. We can return to our village with news of the bitch's downfall tomorrow."
The Pinsir weakly nodded.
The kitchen is still in somewhat of a dog-eared state. There are plenty of ingredients and berries hidden among the clutter and cabinets.
"No, not at all. I'd rather not stay in there longer than I have to."
I resist the urge to smile. She actually agrees with me. "Alright. Just lemme set up a campfire and we can rest." And with that, I stop using Dana as a support and go off to look for some fallen tree branches to use as firewood…

Oh, all right! More time for us to catch up! (Cole chuckles.) And Dodie hasn't even seen you yet either that I know of. Where it she, anyway?
She just came out with Marlon. (Gene tells Cole, pointing at her near the manor's entrance.)
Uh, the Marlon guy, his leg got hurt really bad, and I mean REALLY bad. (Anthony tells Hikari, motioning in Marlon's (and Marsha and Dodie's) direction as best as he can with no arms or legs.)
Uh...look at Marly's leg, Kev. (Marsha points out.) Not sure if we should be gettin' him all da way back ta town when it's still DIS bad!
(Ah, here we are, here's a kitchen, and...what a mess, did L'Arachel and the others even actually use this kitchen? It looks like it's seen much better days.)
(I place Sally down on the ground.) Sally? We're in a kitchen. Is there a particular Berry I can get for you? (I ask as I begin searching for any Berries in the cabinets. The Berries I do find are in surprisingly good condition despite the worn-looking room itself. Perhaps they just never saw fit to keep it tidy?)

"I guess it does, hehe", Zelgius chuckled. He had to admit, the thought of being able to at least have one night to reconnect with his old friends made him feel fuzzy inside.
"Mm, that is quite a problem", said Hikari, scuttling over to Marlon, "Can someone remove the stones? I will heal his wound as soon as it is clean."

Kevin looks over at the Swampert and shrugs. She raises a good point.
Yeah, you have a point. Though I'm just a bit concerned about this kid and if he'd be fine staying the night...
Kevin looks around to see if the Teddiursa followed him.
I'm a psychic type. I'm fairly certain if I focus I can lift these stones out....unless there's any better idea.
I start focusing in, yet I know that this'll be a bit painful. Any solution will be. Assuming no other idea is brought forward, the stones start coming out one-by-one.
Edited by Team42Larson on Mar 15th 2019 at 6:16:42 AM
Hikari nods as she watches the stones be carried out and brings her claws over Marlon's leg, focusing a deep Heal Pulse that should work very efficiently.
(Marsha visibly grimaces and Anthony closes his eyes as Marlon psychically lifts the shrapnel out of his leg. Dodie tries to look back at what’s going on.)
Whew...good job, fellas. (Marsha says once the surgery is over.)
(Cole begins to move in Dodie’s direction.) Let’s see how Dodie’s holding up, eh? (He says to Gene and Zelgius.)
Guess that's settled. (With that said, Zelda made her way back inside, looking to rest up for the night.)
As long as the Pokémon are safe, I won't object. (With that, the Aegislash followed.)
(As more and more of us are coming back in, I looked back at her. Before I could say anything, she spoke to me, trying not to sound awkward.) As much as I appreciate what you've done back there, I'm not... willing to go too far, so to say. Just thought I'd let you know.
Of course not! That's the sort of shit you'd see on cheesy novels! (She's right. I'd better not do something I'd regret down the road. I waved to the rest of the group.) See you inside. (Eliza and I went back inside, with the Dragalge trailing.)
The rocks, of course, came out rather roughly, but all the same without much other problems. Grunting in pain as the Heal Pulse takes hold I feel my skin almost close itself back up before the process ends.
Huff...huff...that was painful. Can I try walking? It's probably still a bit too risky to do so, isn't it?

"You should be able to", said Hikari.
Zelgius followed the bouncers to meet with Dodie once again.
Noriaki, Montresor, and Notte also began to move in as everyone else around them did.
