ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

"Sure thing I can!" Whitney cheers, hoping her enthusiasm'll somehow pass onto Autumn. After she says it, she begins trotting over to their room, before stopping at their door!

"Alright, let's just..."

Whitney tries to paw at the keys and the door, doing her absolute damndest to open the door!... It doesn't work.

"... Autumn, could you unlock the door please?" She says, dropping the keys on the floor.

(Eyeing the Dragalge and Tsareena already heading to bed, Dodie decides to take the opportunity to find a bunkmate for the night before the group disbands completely. Going "eeny meeny minee mo" between the folks still over here that she's certain don't have a bunkmate yet, she ultimately lands on Gerome.)

Oy, cop guy. (She asks, lightly tapping him on the side with a vine.) Y' need a bunkmate?

Becchel, The Patink-Inn

"...fo...for what?" [I'm still confused...I was out before I...blipped here, was I? Or...hmm...] "...y'done nothin' but help me since I..." [Got here...]

[I walk into the room...step...step...step towards my bed. Or the nearest bed...it's my bed now. I flop onto the bed, dragging myself onto the middle of it. I need to work this blacking-out thing out.]

"Oh!" Pierre looks a little surprised. "Oh, I didn't know to...oh, I'm sorry!" He calls to his son again, "George!" Peering up after getting his miscellaneous keys to everyone else, George perks up and bounds back over to the desk. Pierre chuckles as George notices the Gallade waiting at the front desk.

"Oh...did you want a key, too, mister?" "George, it's okay." Pierre takes a step back from the desk. "I'll get it for him."

George looks a little disappointed in himself. "I'm sorry, mister." He hopes silently that he doesn't leave, the others don't leave. Pierre comes back, with a red and green key. "For you and your lady friend, sir." He takes another look at the Gallade's frame...Gallades are psychic, but just in case: "If you need any help getting her up into your room, it would be my pleasure to offer my assistance."

After another swig of tea, Woodruff answers Dinah, "I'll come up later...I wanna know our game plan for tomorrow." With that, he slinks over towards the others as they begin to speak. He eyes Montresor and Notte as they speak; he's never seen these two before, but from their interaction with Noriaki and what they say, that they were over with that guard, it's clear they were with her. He feels his breathing pick up a little as he realizes this fact, his body furling up a little.

His eyes light up when he hears of Hikari's ability to resist, and possibly cure, L'Arachel's curses. Would that be what his parents are under? He speaks up, "Once we find her...she could help my parents, right? If we can find them, too..."

Though...there is still the question of how they would get to her...and L'Arachel as well. He looks to Montresor and Notte, "You were with her, said she's holed up in a manor. What's the layout of it, do ya know?"

Marie is over pouring tea for the Casside, who is silently listening in on the discussion. "...you won't need a room, will you?" The Casside shakes her head. "Oh...alright, then." Marie starts dragging the board back towards the kitchen. "Why sleep here when you can be in the comfort of your own home, eh?" The Casside doesn't answer, and continues to sip her tea.

Patikins Inn

Kevin finally rises his head up from his notes and quickly recognizes that he needs to get a bunk mate for this night. Watching as Dodie makes her way over to Gerome, Kevin observes everything else, and reaches the conclusion that he is fairly certain that Nephene would be one of the few still without a bunk mate. Wrapping his notes back up carefully into his pack, Kevin approaches the Scolipede, lightly tapping her side with his hand.

You got a bunkmate yet?

Thank you. I'm sure it should be easy for me to wake her up but just in case I'll keep you in mind.

Now, to wake Marsha up. I carefully approach back from the side in which I came from, key in hand. I blink once, causing my eyes to do the usual pink glow. Regardless of what she could possibly be dreaming about (if she would be) she'd hear my voice enter her head.

Marsh...Marsha, wake up! I got our key!

Becchel

All right. (I nod at Woodruff. I would go ahead to our room now, but I need to finish my tea. I remain seated on the mat and get to finishing it.)

(Marsha snorts and rolls over onto her back, eyes barely cracked open.) Den open da treasure chezzzzt, Marly...

(Then she realizes what's going on and sits up, more awake.) ...Oh...uh...dat key, right... (She mutters, groggily standing to her feet.)

[Patink-Inn]

"Indeed, we likely should be able to guide you to Hikari's location", said Montresor, "But I fear tricks and traps may be awaiting us by the time we arrive, worst case scenario L'Arachel somehow... Changes the layout of certain things."

"We will make due whatever may await us", said Notte.

"Yes, indeed... Also, Woodruff, I do believe Hikari's talent may be able to purge the hex that binds your parents should they have been assimilated in to the swarm, which is especially why we should set out to free her", said Noriaki before looking around and to Grigori, "It would seeme everyone is resting for the night. A good course of action, we will need to rest for tomorrow. Shall we bunk for the night once again, Grigori? Everyone else seems to have found their roommates. I already have a key."

"I don't have a bunkmate yet", Gerome answered to Dodie, getting off from the wall he was leaning on, "If you were gonna ask, I guess we could bunk for the night."

"Nah", Nephenee answered to Kevin, "We could bunk if you want."

"Me and Hector are already rooming together, night y'all", Achilles announced before heading off with his old Heracross friend.

Notte thought something over for a few seconds and said, "We should probably be heading to our room with the guard soon."

Oh, okay! I would assume you already have a key on hand.. or pincers?

Kevin finds a brief chuckle out of that list bit. Getting back on track, though, he waits for Neph to hopefully have a key before he sets off to find their room.

In between sips of tea (and managing to already down most of if not all of it) I look over toward Marsha.

Need me to help you get to our room?

"What do you mean... I? You were angry earlier, when Autumn and I fought..."

Mila follows Eliot inside, closing the door behind her but staggering somewhat as she tries to process what Eliot is saying. How could he say that she'd "done nothing but help"? Something was off. Something was wrong. What was going on? As fear overcrowds Mila's conscious thoughts, she barely notices that she's moved over to stand next to Eliot's bed.

"Eliot, are you feeling okay?"

Don't break don't break don't break don't break. This was supposed to help. This was supposed to make things better.

"Yes, I can..."

Autumn drops down to her knees to put the tea cup on the ground, then with the same mechanical motion she picks up the key, turns it in the lock, gives it back to Whitney, and picks up her cup once more. She steps inside of the room once she's gathered the tea, and sits down at the edge of the nearer bed without another word. She was so close to being able to sleep.

(After all that is settled, I looked at Nori and replied.) Yep. I can tell we've got a lot of catching up to do. (With that, I stood up and made my way to our room. Hopefully those two won't try to kill us in our sleep.)

Earlier at Nifel

(In a clinic in the arctic city of Nifel, there laid a Clawitzer, treated for hypothermia. The doctors said that there are no lasting injuries despite being lost in the blistering conditions of the mountain range. After days of rest, the Clawitzer finally came to, trying to leave the cot only to fall over. The resulting commotion alerted an Audino doctor to rush in to help him out.) Sir! Are you okay?

Yeah, yeah. (He replied weakly.) Just trying to get back on my feet. (An obvious metaphor considering who he is, but one that did not sit well with the doctor. It wasn't the first time someone did this, but he could sense a difference between the two. The last one tried to do so to ensure that he would die. This one wanted to live, wanted to get somewhere. Both of whom Mr. Donovan brought here, with as much of an attitude as a drunk Cacturne, but that wasn't important. What is important was how he slouched against a nearby wall which prompted him to usher him back to the cot.) I know you want to go back and do whatever, but please, just don't do something like that! It'll make it worse!

(Just then, a Meditite entered the room in uniform.) Mr. Collins, you have an appointment for Mrs. Margolis in... (Margolis? The Clawitzer reacted to that name. Silence filled the room until the fighting-type spoke out.) Ahem. It appears that Mr... What was his name?

Waylon Gra- (He stuttered for a second before he finished his thought.) Graham

Right. Mr. Graham is awake now. I'll take care of him while you handle Mrs. Margolis' checkup. (Again, that name. Her name. The last time he heard of her was when she was sent on a "business venture" in Slak Rock. Before the Audino left, he spoke to him with the Meditite.) Wait, you said Margolis? Like, Elizabeth Margolis?

(The Audino shook his head.) No, Victoria Margolis. Like "The Emerald Queen?" (He wasn't sure who he was reffering to, but it might be some mad fan's ramblings as far as he knows.) I hate to tell you this, but I don't have time to chitchat with you. Maybe in a couple hours or so I will. For now, just don't do anything like that again.

(As soon as the doctor had left the room, Waylon called out to him.) Wait! (Too late, the door has been closed. But yet, the Meditite still remains.) I know who Eliza is! Just give me a chance to talk!

(The Meditite decided to humor the poor crab, likely delirious from the cold.) Okay. I'll listen. Roger never does.

(Here goes nothing.) You know who "The Living Glacier" is right?

(The Meditite's eyes widened in response to the question.) Yeah?

...He's my father. I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out. (The Meditite leaned closer, curious about this story. Maybe it some sort of scandal she didn't know about. Maybe the old crab decided to make it up to her by getting their children together. Regardless, she listened.) I ran away from him. I couldn't take the whole criminal life and I had to get away. I needed to get to the city.

What does that have to do with Vicky's kid?

Guess the name jogged my mind.

Well, wherever you're going, it'll have to wait. Maybe Mr. Donovan will help relay the message. But for now, just try to stay put.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't push myself. Thanks uh...

Okay, mate, great! (Dodie nods at Gerome.)

Well, uh, guess we'll hit it. (Cole says. He gently elbows Gene.)

Oh, of course. (Gene nods.) Well, good night, all. Pleasant dreams, Dodie.

Same to ya, guys! (Dodie says as her two buddies begin heading toward their own room.)

Eh, nah, think I got it. (Marsha yawns, drowsily making her way towards the inn rooms.)

(Well, I've finished my tea and everyone seems to be heading toward their rooms. I suppose it's about time for me to begin that way myself. I put my empty tea cup up and begin to head that way...hold on, I don't have a key. Does Woodruff have it? I pause to wait for him to head this way, watching Marsha trudge past me as I do so. Goodness, she seems exhausted...)

Patinkins Inn (Marlon)

I finish my cup and begin to head over towards...okay, wait, red and green key. Red and green red and green redandgreenredandgreen....

Aha, got it!

As soon as I find our room I unlock the door and wait for Marsha to catch up.

"You two..." [And...I was angry? I...I don't even remember this...I don't even know what I'd be angry at them for...]

[I stare at Mila, finding myself sitting up to look at her...I don't know what's going on with me...is there something going on with me?] "...I was...I, I was out when...when we got here, right? Me and Autumn, I was...asleep or...or something, right?" [I'm getting a little desperate here.] "Nothing happened, did it? Not, not, uh, since...since...s..." [I clam up...lay back down...my breathing's tense...I feel like I'm gonna be sick. I'm getting cold again, I end up pulling over the bedspread a little...why can't I just keep it off my mind? At least that would make things easier...]

"You need a key?" Having been astute and noticed Dinah's confused face, George had gotten his father to get him another key to give to the Krokorok. He flicks his tail around, dangling the key in front of her so she can grab it. "There ya go!"

Woodruff furrows his brow. "Well, I hope for everyone's sake she doesn't pull that." Sitting up and letting out a yawn like a Pyroar's...roar, he moves back over towards Dinah, noticing George as well. "Ah, I didn't even think to get a key..." He laughs a little to himself. "'n that's supposed to be my job...sorry about that!" "No, I should be sorry."

George glares at Woodruff with a deadly serious look in his eye, unnerving Woodruff a little.

The Casside continues to stare at the wall, listen, and drink as the conversation continues and winds down. The Neyad waits inside the guard room that branches off from the stairwell, rolling her claws against the wood finish of her bed...

(Marsha loudly yawns as she stumbles into her and Marlon's room. She doesn't waste much time before crashing into the nearest bed.) Night, Marzzzzz....

It's alright, both of you. (I say as I take the key from George.) Well, we have the key now, so let's go to our room. Thank you so much for you and your parents' hospitality, George.

(With that, I begin moving to our inn room, waiting a moment for Woodruff by the door to it.)

Just as I follow into the room Marsha crashes onto the bed.

Well okay then.....

Not really surprising though...anyway, I follow into said bed, plunk down-

And eventually fall asleep, wrapping one arm around Marsha.

"Eliot, you were awake... what happened to you?"

Mila finds herself sat down on the side of the bed next to Eliot, and barely manages to give herself the impulse to put a paw on his shoulder. She can feel that he's not doing well, but she doesn't know what to do. Her body wants to freeze up. Either that or run away. Run far away until she doesn't have to think about this any more.

Why? Why isn't it changing? Why isn't it getting better? Why is this making things worse?

[Patink-Inn]

"Very well, then", said Noriaki, also heading to the room matching with the key he has. Once he arrives, he takes of his top hat and places it on whichever night table there may be available.

"Alright then, this way", said Gerome, moving to where the room seems to be.

"Yeah I got a key", said Nephenee, pulling the key out and getting up before she began to walk to where the key matched.

Notte and Montresor came back to the room where the Neyad awaited.

"Good evening, I hope that we are not late at all", the Bisharp said.

Patinkins Inn

Before Kevin sets off to attempt to find the room he and Neph would be sleeping in, he stops to take a look at the key for their room. Upon memorizing the colors of the key to the room that they'd proabbly have to go to Kevin starts that way himself.

After some time of searching, he comes up to the room that matches the color (s) of the key. He stops and waits for Neph to catch up.

Right behind ya, mate. (Dodie says as she gets up and follows Gerome to their room. She waves at Cole and Gene as they go into their own room.)

So...yer name's Gerome, right? (She asks him as she takes her key out and opens the door to their inn room.)

(I put my glasses down on the table and looked at Nori again.) Looks like you finally became your own man. (Despite him being the same species as I am, there's a lot to separate him from me. And despite that, he almost looks like a brother to me. The brother I never had. A small, but genuine smirk formed on my beak, letting him know how proud I am.)

[Patinkin's Inn]

Nephenee catches up to Kevin.

"This it?", the Scolipede asked.

As Dodie was unlocking the door, Gerome answered, "Yup, that's me. Serving Chief of the law enforcement guild down in Narcia, where I think you and your mates also met this group, right?"

As they settled down, Noriaki does take note of Grigori's expression and can't help but smile himself.

"Ah, indeed I have", he responded as he sat on his own bed, "There was a lot building in me for the potential and drive, that is for certain, but that one moment during the fight at the catacombs... Montresor had previously let it slip from his beak that Hikari was still alive and imprisoned, the two of them were back at my side fighting against those still loyal to L'Arachel but were in peril, and I was... Recalling that there was a place for me to feel accepted as I tapped in to a power I was afraid to for so long."

"... Where I am from, humans and magical creatures were not as different as they seem to be for wherever the rest of you hail from. We each were born blessed by a higher power", Noriaki explained, "Montresor was born with a talent for Mind, for example. It was enduring a rite at a shrine that led to him developing a talent for harnessing Wind's power as well. Perhaps that is why he appears as a Noctowl here... I, however, was born very weak and had no blessing anyone local had known of. It was due to kindness that I received healing and power from Nature. But in reality, it was the Spirit World whose call beckoned me from birth. I had figured it out on my own at a young age, but I was afraid of it. But now, harnessing it is the best I can do."

Whitney follows behind, shutting the door behind the two. "Hey so..." She says, once she closes the door.

"I just wanna say I'm sorry. You know, for pushing you overboard like that. I just, ya know, thought it'd be cool and motivational and stuff. Sorry that I upset you."

Well...as far as I can tell your key has about the exact colors as the ones on this door, so it should work.

Yep! (Dodie says as she unlocks the door.) Sounds like a cool job t' have. Never been anythin' else besides a bouncer for that diner on Denalsi with Gene and Cole...

(Dodie hauls herself up onto the nearest bed, pats it down a bit, then lays down on it.)

(I guess that's why he was a Dartix earlier. Still, the fact that the magic just carried over from another world is just strange.) Back at home, we didn't have Pokemon. We had all kinds of animals, but not one used some sort of magic. By that same token, humans had no magic, just technology. Back then people did use swords and bows along with animals, but as the years go by, we used guns and vehicles. The farmer's like a bow but the "arrows" are a lot smaller but faster than sound and can hit their mark from further away. The latter doesn't need any animal to push it since it relied on an engine to do the job. Plus, they don't need as much maitenence as a horse. Often times, we developed new ways of warfare like bombs and toxic gas. Guess we got good at killing each other. Wasn't until then the Whiteout happened to get all the nations to stop the killing.

Now don't get me wrong, we had plenty of technology that didn't involve killing people, but most of them has been lost in the Whiteout. The Sanctuaries provided suitable replacements for them, but considering most of the world's been confined to just a select few places, it took quite some time to adjust. Getting from Sanctuary to Sanctuary was easy enough considering all of them are connected, but ever since the governments reformed, it's more restrictive now.

(I look outside to see the night sky fall over the town.) But at this point, I'm just rambling. I'll probably finish up when we have time. Night, Nori. (I lay back on the bed to rest for the night.)

"Yeah, yeah, I got it", said Nephenee, pulling out the key and unlocking the door before crawling inside.

"Yeah, it sure as hell isn't a boring job, that's for sure", said Gerome, "For a while I couldn't do much of anything since under Dorian's administration, I had pretty much no authority. Now that his old man's back in power, my force and I are pretty much doing cleanup duty there. I came along with this group since this L'Arachel lady is partially to blame for giving Dorian power before and nearly letting him become unstoppable, so I know she's a big threat to Narcia's well-being."

"Sounds like quite the different world indeed. The advancement of technology becoming violent and leading to an event like this "Whiteout" seems like precisely something that L'Arachel had always ranted and prophesized about... Even if her points are not technically wrong, the damage she is doing in her ambitions, as well as what fuels those very ambitions, is something that can not be left alone", said Noriaki, "And goodnight, Grigori."

He curled under the covers and closed his eyes, attempting to fall asleep.
