Jinu had been making her way back to the inn when a metal ball interrupts her journey. She'd been out playing her instrument to earn some quick cash, and, having earned enough to last her a little bit, decided to return.

The ball rocks idly for a bit before before it splits in half and opens up (not unlike a pokeball).

Inside is an Electrode wearing a pair of goggles and a very fashionable scarf.

( I peep in surprise when the metal ball suddenly flies open and reveals...an Electrode?)

Um...hello? ( I say, rather confused.) That's a...very interesting mode of transportation you have there.

Well, what happe- (Marsha starts to say to Marlon when the metal ball opens up and the Electrode inside announces their presence. Marsha finds his voice familiar. Dat da Voltorb guy from Hoard or somethin'?)

Don't we know dat guy, or am I just losin' my mind? (She remarks.) I coulda sworn I've heard his voice before...

[Holstown, Outside the Inn]

"... Hello, do we know you?", asked Noriaki.

Holstown Inn

(I was about to say something, but a loud thud outside had interrupted that thought. Almost expecting an assault, I followed the group outside. What I saw was... different than what I was expecting. Apparently one big-ass metal ball decided to roll its way here. In it, like some sort of matryoshka, was an Electrode with a scarf and goggles. I responded to the ball, with somewhat of a joking tone.) Do you know where to park that thing?

Despite my best efforts, that damn nagging feeling won't go away. I start rubbing my teeth against one of my paws out of frustration.

If I don't clash, I don't change. The world ends at my borders, and the best moments slip away.

"Of course I know how to park it, I just did!"

"Ball" hops out of his ball, which has left a small crater in the middle of the road.

"I don't know you guys specifically but I know of your group. Been keeping tabs on your misadventures and thought I could lend a hand...so to speak. Are Goobert or Jani here?"

"They're gonna kill you, you know." A mysterious voice says, somehow in the room with L'Arachel, followed by a teeny giggle.

Autumn, meanwhile, has since moved inside. Thinking long and hard about what Mila said.

What does that mean? Did she miss something? Did something happen when she got lost?

... Did he need her when she wasn't there?

She turns to anyone nearby.

"Do we know where Niles is now?"

[Holstown, Outside the Inn]

"Ah, well... Your assistance will be appreciated, thank you", said Noriaki, before answering, "No, Goobert has gone elsewhere separate from our group for now. Jani... Has been missing for a rather long time now."

Inside the inn, Nephenee (who stayed inside for now), rolled over to Autumn and answered, "From what I hear he's with that L'Arachel lady now. Probably in that abandoned manor we heard talk of, but with the way things are, he'll be coming to us before long."

L'Arachel, unfazed, spoke in a commanding tone, "   Show yourself.   "

Meanwhile, Montresor took note of Nyquil's demeanor.

"Does something trouble you, Niles?", the Noctowl asked.

Holstown (Inn)

( This fellow wants to know where Goobert and Jani are...) Yes, Goobert is most likely on Denalsi still, but we will meet him again later. And...I have no idea where Jani is.

Are you...yas are dat Philly guy, aren't yas? ( Marsha says.) Yeahs, I know your voice. Man, ya seem ta have gone through a lotta stuff since Hoard...

( And here I am with no idea who "Philly" is...)

"No, I'll be going to him. Where's this manor?"

If she looks around, she'll indeed see Anastasia, resting on the floor non-chalantly. "Man, you make up for smarts with strength, right? Cuz it is not lookin' good right now."

Woodruff, having followed the others outside and was left silently stunned by the contraption the spiffied-up Electrode was toting himself in, while not recognizing the Electrode himself, does recognize the names he's said.

"He one of your friends," he asks the others. "I'm assumin'...Goobert 'n Jani aren't here, unfortunately..."

Holstown, Inigo's Inn

[I decide to move out of Dana's room, letting her get some rest. Wiping my eyes, I...I need to get this blood off me. I waddle on over towards the bathing room, dropping my things outside...]

The more the merrier I guess. We'll fill you in on what's happening inside. (With that said, I make my way inside, but not before replying to the ball about a bar.) Ask the Scyther inside, he likely knows.

(Back inside the inn pondering on the situation about Umberto on her lonesome, Eliza returned from her room and asked to the group.) What was that noise?

Jinu doesn't have too much of an idea of who Goobert and Jani are, so she just says nothing, shrugs, and enters the inn.

Hearing Autumn state that she wants to go directly to Niles nearly sends Mila into a panic, at once making her feel like she's failed to make any useful progress today and that she's about to lose someone else she cares equally as much about to L'arachel.

"Autumn, I know you want to save him, I do too, but we can't do that right now. Didn't you see what happened to the rest of us? What happened to him? I don't— I can't lose you, not because I was too stupid to get Niles back today. Please, if— if you want him safe—like I do, j-just help the rest, so that we're all together when there's a chance. Lord knows I'd be too scared to do anything otherwise."

As she speaks, Mila jumps up and moves towards the entrance, trying to put herself between Autumn and the route to the manor despite her size. It's clear that she's used Agility for this, even though there's no sudden movement or combat in the area, and her gaze is flitting rapidly around the room.

I need to update these things more often

Mila... She...

"Sweetheart. I want you to listen to me, okay? We have no idea what's being done to him. How do we know she's telling the truth when she says she's helping him? He could be tortured right now for all we know. We need to help him."

Autumn sighs.

"But if it would make you feel better..."

She looks around at the party.

"Is the Comfey around? I'm going to need you."

Holstown Inn

"I know he's not okay, I know he's hurt, I know it's my fault, I know I should do something, I know I know I know I know!!"

"..."

"... But I know that there's nothing I can do now. We have to wait, as much as it hurts. Or else... she wouldn't be afraid to kill me. Or anyone."

Mila's voice speeds up as she speaks, pitching higher and louder before suddenly crashing to a halt as she looks directly down at her feet, her tail that had once been keeping a metronome to her speech, accelerating with it, now lying flat on the floor. Once she speaks again, it begins as a mumble before resolving itself to clearer sounds, though still soaked in the sound of shame.

I need to update these things more often

"Mila." Autumn grabs her with a tight grip.

"I know you're hurting. This isn't your fault. But we're still going to fix this. You don't have to come, but you're also not going to stop me. I love you. But I can't just stand by and let this happen. Please let me through."

The more she speaks, the more anyone listening can feel she's holding something bitter back. Maybe not meant for Mila specifically, but something bitter nonetheless.

Holstown Inn

"No."

Mila digs her heels into the ground, holding on to Autumn to an equal degree, but now looking at her directly, her eyes completely clouded by terror, guilt, shame, anger, and a host of other emotions, though her voice betrays none of them as she speaks clearer now than in the rest of the conversation.

"You weren't there. You didn't see what happened to us. You didn't know what it felt like to worry about losing you. I can't have that worry twice. It'd kill me. They'll kill you. I can't have that be my fault."

I need to update these things more often

"You're right. I was not. So let me be there now. I know it's a risk, but I have to take it. We're Farbridges. This isn't going in for some friend, he's our son."

Autumn doesn't stand down... but her voice begins cracking a little.

"I know you care, I know. I just want him to be safe."

Holstown Inn

"I want you to be safe too, I want you both to be safe. That's why I can't let you go in there, because I know it's going to get you hurt and him nowhere. If I thought it would save him, I'd already be there. You have to know that I would."

Mila can feel a knot in her gut, but she's already steeled to the point of no surrender. As much as this hurts her, as much as she wants to relent because she hates arguing with someone she loves so much, she can't bear the thought of something worse happening, something that can never be fixed or forgiven. Something she's powerless to prevent except for now, and even then it's feeling more and more like she's powerless even now.

"Please don't leave me, I need you to help me get him back, and this will kill us all."

I need to update these things more often

"I don't..."

Autumn's eyes moisten as the first tear in a while strolls down her cheek.

"I-I don't..."

And finally, she folds, losing balance as she's defeated and falling even deeper into the smaller girl's grip as she begins completely sobbing.

"I... I just..." Autumn holds onto Mila tight, feeling like she's about to completely give out.

She looks up to Mila, with a face that Mila definitely didn't fall for, contorted with tears and wrinkled with despairing eyes. "I don't want them to hur..."

Autumn seems lost, unable to finish her sentence.
