He then pulled out a pen and paper for Marlon, handing it to him and telling him, "There ya go."

In hearing training and rest being discussed, Soten speaks, "Training would be a mighty fine idea, but right now? You lot are better of resting up at least a bit. When a better time comes up, we have plenty to offer in terms of that. Ain't that right, Minato."

The older Dustox, who had reclined himself on a nearby chair and was tapping his legs together, looked up and responded, "Aye, I'm at an age where I'm starting to get better at teaching my old tricks than putting them in to practice."

While some kind of training would probably be helping me getting the hang of, um, stuff, I'd want to get some rest before doing something like that, I think. But before resting...well, uh, where would I find something to eat?

Zeb listens to whether the Ursaring has anything to say, but that said, he looks like he's... keeping a bit distant from her.

Well, let's head toward the inn, I guess. (I say, still not feeling all that great.)

(I do so, with Cortez following behind me. Rich waits for Salty before going himself.)

Jack: Maybe help teach each other some moves while we're at it. I'd also prefer a sparring partner with the same level of experience as myself.

Snaptooth eventually finds the rest of his crew. He leads them to a part of town they haven't been to before. His second mate speaks up.

Not even a full day here in Holstown and things have already gone south. See, we got here and immediately we were told that some dude got powers from a Vespiquen lady and it basically gave him God Mode. Yeah, fucking GOD MODE. Thankfully, we didn’t find him, but we then split up; Nori, Marsha, and I took a group into Narcia, a rich town just a few minutes from Holstown..where of course, we were accosted-by who I believe to be this lady’s top men: that Noctowl from Foxfell, who is called “Montresor”, a Shiny Bisharp named Notte, and an Aerodactyl named Zelgius...and of course, we got into a fight. And...

My stone broke. Zelgius slammed into me with an Iron Head, causing the stone to break clean off. I was FUMING. But yet-I saw a brief flash the same aura I saw from when Jack read our auras, but it only was the orange and blue. What does it mean...? Anyway, how are things there? Meet any interesting characters?

After writing the letter, returning the pen, folding the paper, and briefly exiting to hand it off to (what I think) would be the last Carrier Pidgey of the day, I’m still thinking. I’d be 100% down tomorrow, but Dinah seems to really see this as important, but again, I don’t feel motivated for tonight after what happened earlier..

It was like any other day...

...I let my boy out to play in the main areas like always. After about an hour I came back from my errand to pick him up. I just barely saw him out of the corner of my eye on the same road he always was on but before I could get him...

...I heard someone talk to him. I didn’t see them so I still don’t know who, but I heard their voices get further away. I tailed them until I got to a mansion where I was going to ask where they were going...

...But I got scared once I saw Combee. Tons and tons of Combee...I turned back and didn’t go any further...I know that L’Arachel did this...but I just can’t muster the courage to get my kid back from her...if he’s even still alive...

Oh, Bea, it's the fellows we met in the Slak Rock dojo, yes! (Cyrus remarks to his Haunter companion.)

( It makes me feel a bit better to know that I might be able to train at some point before we face them again. The Ursaring's story is making me worried, though, especially with the mention of the Combees...)

( I notice the Haunter and Sableye coming in. For some reason, I feel like I recognize the Haunter, but I don't know why. I'm definitely not going to go up to her and ask in case I'm wrong.)

(We arrive at the large inn. It's a large two-story building mostly made of wood, with wood carvings of various Berries all over it. In general, it looks like a very large log cabin.)

I was leaving the room with Niles and Dana inside for a moment to go get a drink. Then I noticed we had company. A Haunter and a Sableye. ”Hi,” I greeted them.

*the shifts come and go...members of each group take the shifts, and Sirus does indeed wake up a little into the third shift and proves to be an intimidating presence overlooking Cillian's group. Then night falls to day*

*Cam and Winnie's work seems to be paying off, as a Golem-sized circular cut can be spotted on the door. Only a little more remains to be carved, shouldn't take more than 10 minutes at this rate. Passing the steel-lead guardian seems to be an inevitability*

*Sarah wakes up a bit groggy, almost as if she were playing Stardew Valley in her head for 6 days...in reality only maybe 6 hours passed since her shift ended* Ugh...sleeping on dirt isn't as comfy as it used to be... *she mutters to herself, then looks up at the door* No way...we're almost in?!

*Sammy calls out to Stellan and Delara...who may or may not be awake already, to announce* The door! Hey boss, they're almost in!

*Sirus isn't paying much attention, more focused on guard duty at this time...plus he knows he'll never fit in that hole*

Then, the Ursaring mother's retelling of what she saw catches Noriaki's attention.

"Aye...", he sighs out, "A mansion... Just like her to find a dwelling like that. How disturbing indeed. If I connect the dots of this with the information I have gathered in Narcia, then my previous theory of dreadful thought may just be true. I heard speak of a Vespiquen woman who had visited Dorian and given him and his men some strange power. Upon digging deeper in to this subject, we were assaulted by Pokemon that I know for sure are L'Arachel's servants. Upon their escape, a large swarm of Combee came and helped them escape while repelling our attacks. It seems to most likely be exactly what I had feared. Ma'am, I am sorry, but it is a strict possibility that your son is currently assimilated in a mindless miasma of drones that live to serve their mistress without question."

Soten looks on with a staid expression, while Nephenee seems be looking down with an utterly shocked and disturbed one.

"However", the Dartrix added, "It seems you know where their dwelling is."

Indeed, yes! You will keep the fighting going on, correct? (Cyrus also says. He addresses Marlon.) [-So...where we were (gckh) wasn't okay, okay? Then suddenly everything gets even worse when we got word that the king was gone, so Bea and I left and are looking for a new place to go, yes!

( Oh, way to rub it in right in front of the Krokorok who doesn't know how to fight, Miss Haunter. I turn away from them for now (still feeling like there's something familiar about the Haunter that I can't quite put my claw on), and tune into the discussion with the Usaring mother.)

( ...Oh how I wish I hadn't. The Teddiursa is...one of hundreds of Combees all brainwashed to serve who I can only assume must be this L'Arachel Pokémon? And we have to face her?)

( Thoughts of being transformed into one of these Combees, losing my sense of self, being forced to think of nothing but helping L'Arachel and her minions, and not only never seeing Lucy and Benji again but not even remembering that they exist swim through my mind. This is the situation I've gotten myself into; one where I could very well become a mindless slave among hundreds, maybe thousands of them. Oh my goodness, this is going to end up happening to me, I just know it!)

(Inside, the setting is modest-looking as well, with a stone floor, wooden walls, and wooden posts supporting the building. A Toucannon is inside at the front desk. To the left is a dining area that's mostly empty save for a couple of Pawniards (yikes, I hope they're not in league with Serris and Khmalidze), and to the left is a stairway to the upper rooms. The wide hallway to the first floor rooms is behind the desk.)

'Hoy there! (Rich says.) Ye have enough room here for... (He counts us real quick.) 7 mateys?

Eh, yeah... (The Toucannon says. He sounds exhausted. He gives us four keys.) It'll be 5000 Poké a night for each room. Enjoy...now if you'll excuse me...

(He hops over to the kitchen. Rich looks at us, perplexed.) Oookey, then...so how are we goin' t' split up? I'm assumin' th' Digletts and Maran and Sunny will want their own rooms.)

I'm guessing that either three people will be in one room or one person will be by themselves in a room... (I say. I turn to Salty.) What do you want to do? Anyone that you specifically don't mind bunking with, or what?

"Well, it seems like there is only one option", Noriaki said reassuringly to the Teddiursa's mother, "My friends and I here will have to go and storm her mansion and find a way to make her undo what she has done. Of course..."

Noriaki walked over to the side of the room and continued, "That will be no simple feat. L'Arachel is incredibly powerful and far from lacking in knowledge of tactics and trickery. Same goes for her most powerful servants. I think it may be most beneficial if we take time to prepare ourselves."

"Agreed, just rushing in might end in disaster", Minato chimed in.

"I do honestly hate to let her be as is for the time being, and that I won't be able to return your son to you today, ma'am", Noriaki contemplated, "But we must be catious with this situation... There is also the factor of more local troubles that do relate somewhat."

Noriaki looked over to Achilles, who nodded, arms crossed. Just then, a Yanma buzzed in through the front door. Achilles seemed interested in the sight of him.

"What is it?", he asked before allowing the Yanma to come closer and mutter something, "Ohhhh...."

Achilles cleared his throat and looked over to everyone else, "Uh... Guys? This young Yanma here acts as a scout for me and he just came back from Narcia... It ah... Sounds like the fight you all got in earlier kind of put Dorian on edge."

"Heh, finally."

"Eesh... that certainly sounds like something."

Good thing they're not here, though...

"But don't worry, ma'am, if you know where it is, we'll be sure to free your son."

"Hm... Well, I would be fine bunkin' with anyone, yeah. Though, if Rich is up for it..."

Tiago looks at his dad and sister's reactions.

A knock is heard at Von Gold's front door. Von Gold checks the peephole again and sees that his old friend is back once again along with some newcomers. As he opens the door, he turns his head to the side as he calls out.

Von Gold: Malica, can you get some herbal tea ready? We have some special guests!

The Spiritomb assistant nods and gets to work in the kitchen.

Von Gold leads his guests to the living room and they all sit down.

Von Gold: So, what brings you here? Is it about what happened yesterday?

Snaptooth:   No. Speaking of which did you take care of the evidence?   

Von Gold: Yep, rather simple thanks to my... ah... "connections". Anyways what's the reason you're here?

Snaptooth:   I need your help. Remember that dream ship of mine I described to you all those years ago? I think it's finally time for it to get built.   

Von Gold: Ah. I'm willing to pay for it, but do you even know where to get the supplies?

Snaptooth:   Yes. Gangplank Cove. Since my captain's ship is now short of a mast I can use that as an excuse to go there.   

Von Gold: Well then feel free to use my ship. I'll be coming with you as I've been meaning to set up an office there for a while. I could make a fortune from the pirates there.

Snaptooth:   Sure thing. And might as well come back with that mast for the captain just so he won't get suspicious. So when shall we leave?   

Von Gold: Tomorrow sounds like a good time.

The two then started to talk about old times, with the curious crew members chiming in every once in a while as they waited for their tea.

Welp, I think I’m gonna head ta sleep..night fellas. Marly, ya comin’ or what?

(I head off ta the fifth room on the left side and plunk inta da bed, and wait for Marly.)

I turn my attention back towards Achilles.

So, what does that have to exactly do with us? What’s the plan for tomorrow, then?

"Well", said Achilles, "This makes going anywhere through Narcia much more dangerous for one. But it does afford a bit of an opportunity."

"Opportunity?", said Noriaki.

"Yeah, because even though the security everywhere else is tight, Dorian's office building? The men he sent out won't be guarding every other corner in there if they're outside roaming the streets."

"I think I see what he means", said Soten, "If we can sneak past 'em and get in, it would more or less a straight shot up to the big man himself. And even if his men find us, they'd be far apart from each other."

"Exactly, and going in there would let me bring the fight straight to Hector earlier than he was planning, with tons of backup too", Achilles confirmed, "And as for what this has to do with you all aside from just wanting to help our situation in this here village: Getting to this L'Arachel lady's place would be just a bit smoother if Narcia wasn't the hostile pit of greed it is now. In fact, you may find some pretty good services and shops there that might help, and maybe safer lodging."

Noriaki chimed in, "Also, this action may be a good way to draw out L'Arachel's servants, if not the woman herself."

"You mean you WANT them to attack you again?", Nephenee asked, confused.

"No", Noriaki explained, stroking his chin, "I wish to draw them out. L'Arachel's current place of dwelling likely has unparalleled defenses. Drawing out her men again and completely incapacitating them would reduce those defenses. If L'Arachel herself is drawn out by Dorian and Hector's defeat... Best case scenario, we manage to defeat her, but at the very least I believe we can gauge just what we are up against if we face her and need to retreat. But I know that her excessive hubris will lead her to take some sort of action if these notable Pokemon she has connections with end up being struck down. Even if not by her orders, I know Montresor's obsession with her will most certainly lead to him taking action, along with an outburst of his ill-controlled temper."

I split off to find the room Marsha went into. After finding said room, and finding Marsha already asleep, I too sink down and drift off before long. In her sleep, Marsha wraps her arms around me like a teddy bear, grinning.

( Oh dear, not only are we actually going to storm the mansion now, but we've made somebody else angry now?)

Oh my word, I'm going to absolutely die...! ( What I'm saying in my head accidentally slips out of my mouth.)

( I notice the Haunter looking at me.) What makes ya say that yer gonna die, sugar? ( Was she really paying attention to what's been going on? She would know why I'd say that if she did...)

...N-No reason, you wouldn't understand... ( I say.)

Well...whatever ya say... ( She says. She floats away.)

( I swear I've heard that voice before...but where? I decide I have no choice but to listen to what Noriaki has to say.)

( At least I'll have some time to train probably, even if it isn't tonight. Gosh, this whole thing is still stressing me out badly...what if I'm not good enough to survive? What if I freeze and let myself get killed? What if...get a hold of yourself, Dinah...)

( I uneasily start to move toward my room, but before I do so, I turn to Eliot.) Do you know who you're sharing a room with? Because...I really don't mean to sound like a frightened child or anything, but...I think I would feel better if I weren't alone...for tonight at least...

And he is a far kinder, helpful, and faithful creature zan you will ever be, Monsieur Cosby! He would never humiliate me in front of dozens of Pokémon and zen punch me and abandon me when I got furious afterwards like you did!

(Maran's eyes go wide at this revelation, and he looks up and scowls at Harvey.) YOU BEAT HER?! (He shouts, angrily flapping his wings.)

H-Hey! It's not m-my fault that she didn't have a sense of humor! A-And I've changed, I p-promise! I don't punch people anymore! N-Not since I was kicked out of my troupe for doing that even if that dippy director deserved it! Don't hurt me!!! (Harvey begins defending himself profusely, not wanting to be on the receiving end of a Ground-type attack.)

(Maran keeps scowling at Harvey as he slowly lands.)

(No longer in any immediate danger, Harvey takes the opportunity to scoff.) And really, a Salazzle's pheromones? At least there was something there with mine and Sunny's relationship! You just cheated your way into a relationship with this chick.

He understands. The two hang on their words for a while before the Froslass speaks up. "You should probably come inside. It's getting late." She smiles, warmly. "I have tea and quiches, if you would like."

She gets out of her way and gestures Woodruff to come inside. Becoming restless, Woodruff heads in...

Having listened to the plan, I pounded my fists together. ”I’ll be ready anytime.”

"Heh, cool, thanks, Rich."

Tiago nods and slinks off to his room.

"Boa noite..."^* Good night..."
