Where's Bondrewd when you need him. Now that's a caring father.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.By the way, has there been other instances of Fumino switching to Kansai-ben when she was mad? That startled me a bit in this chap…
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. Also, if Nariyuki's mother is that obsessed with romance, she'd be better off looking for a husband than depending on her son to be the man of the house. She doesn't seem to appreciate the gravity of the situation that her teenage son is the breadwinner of the family, and she seems to be totally cool with the idea of him having kids of his own even as his younger siblings need support.
Also, this would be a good time for a PSA on the importance of life insurance: If Nariyuki's father had been properly insured, his untimely death wouldn't have left his family in such dire straits.

Nariyuki isn't the breadwinner, she is with her shopkeeper jobs. Nariyuki and his sister take care of the little ones and the sister cooks, but they aren't employed. Nariyuki wants to support his family, but given his mom's reaction and the fact that he's been hiding the VIP recommendation he probably hasn't expressed this to her. As far as she knows her son is just very studious and in need of a high school romance to lighten up.
Also, this is fiction. Life insurance only exists as a motive for someone to get murdered or contemplate suicide.

Raws are out. Fuck Reiji.
Nariyuki is going down Reiji's path with those eyes.
Secret Signature…At least it gives Fumino a more concrete reason for her career choice. Meanwhile, Nariyuki keeps triggering flags that she desperately tries to shoot down.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. Is there a trope for Obvious Harem Winner or something? Cause it's a rather annoying one honestly.
Secret SignatureSupporting Harem covers this, more or less.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Fumino's father is just the worst. What a dick. Meanwhile Nariyuki's mom is great. And look how happy she is with her new daughter-in-law.
Well, now we can understand much better why Fumino is so determined to go into sciences. What a heavy backstory.
Is there a word for being too considerate towards others? Because it fits Fumino to a t. I know they're her friends, but would it kill her to think about her own happiness for once? I guess it would kill the series tho.
I'm very much enjoying Fumino and Nariyuki newlywed adventures.
Hey guys... Have to admit that I havent read the manga. But who's your favorite girl in the MC's harem and what's your opinion on Fumino?
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Favorite girl of the harem, assuming you're not counting Sensei or Sekijou is Fumino. She's the one I'm cheering for. Though of all the girls, including Sensei and Sekijou, she's my third favorite after those two.
Why would you count Sekijou? Her crush is on Rizu, not on Nariyuki…
…But yeah, Fumino's the best. I like Ashumi a lot too, but I don't see her as a serious contender.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Nobody is nearly as serious as Fumino. Which kinda hurts them in more ways than one.
Secret SignatureFumino is cool primarily because she's in a position that's relatively unique for a harem series- She has a bird's eye view on the relationship chart, thanks to actually being able to read the mood. She pushes her friends to be more open with their feelings, she's gets pissed when their stupidity gets in the way of progress- She's basically on the same page as the readers are, and that's probably why we love her so much.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Oh yeah, she's the best. I was rooting for Uruka initially, but by now it's hard to support anyone but Fumino.
And thus we run into the harem issue. Either one character is the obvious winner and the series just keeps dragging on and putting the cast through more shenanigans and buildup to heartbreak, or the characters all seem incredibly indecisive and unwilling to commit in order to make it more of a convincing race. Rarely is a harem done well, where every member has a convincing shot at winning, and where it has some sort of decisive end.
In the beginning there was no clear winner. It wasn't until the hotel scene that Fumino became the frontrunner. If you're going to have one endgame couple, then you're going to need to give it romantic development and show why the rivals aren't going to work out, so of course it should be obvious once the series is far along.
Except the "there's one obvious winner" phase then proceeds to drag on for another couple hundred chapters and in the end they go for a generic no-winners-sorta-harem-ending anyway. That's the harem issue I speak of. Like, unless the mangaka decides to pull a big twist in order to shake up the relationship dynamics, it's obvious the winner will be Fumino. If they take more than a hundred chapters to resolve that and wrap things up with everyone else, then it's the harem issue. Let's have a harem that transitions away from being a harem and focusing on the final couple rather than trying to cling to the harem genre throughout.

An early hook-up would be cool indeed, but the author has to know where to go after that. Nariyuki has shown little interest in romance until now, so it's a bit trickier to handle than in, say, Jitsu wa Watashi wa where everything happening in the first half was buildup for the eventual relationship (that and there were plenty of other plot points to explore).
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Chapter 87:
So the laptop with important information behind a password and they only have one try... what are the odds the password is "Fumino" and it's actually an album of her photos?
Fumino spends whole day acting as a wife (she fumbles a bit, seems Yuiga will have to train her), complete with washing his back. Can those two get married already?
Also, Fumino been accumulating stress. Yuiga asks her out on a date like a boss. I think it's their second official date already. Nice going Yuiga.
…Okay, pack your things and go home, everyone. That not even a competition at this point.
A math thesis, eh… Still better than the thousand unopened e-mails you've sent your mother in the past three… fuck I'm crying again.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I don't like that Fumino is bad at housework. That's Sensei's thing and it makes both of them less unique among the cast. That said, I'm looking forward to next chapter and seeing how the date goes.

On another note, these recent revelations make some of the early hijinks a lot more morbid in hindsight.
but Kaguya's dad is also scum.
